  1. Leaving dirty trays/plates of food is not the proper etiquette on a cruise ship or in a hotel. It should be either left in the room OR a call should be made for it to be cleared. Sometimes once the call is made they will ask you to then place in the hall. Don't assume, especially at "off" hours, that staff are in the halls to pick up trays.

  2. I have not read all of the replies. My travel buddy on my last cruise (June 2018 to Cuba on NCL) is a county detective. He is assigned to an FBI task force. He had to complete a travel form from the Bureau. We put the basics of our trip. It was simple and NOT an issue. Cuba didn't get a copy lol. They don't know the occupations of individual cruisers.

    Have fun and DON'T worry!

  3. Contact the access desk. If you wait until you get to the port, they may not have enough which may require a prolonged wait.

In order to make your cruise experience as enjoyable as possible and so that we can try to meet your specific needs, call 1-866-584-9756 (voice), fax (305) 468-2171, send an email to accessdesk@ncl.com or have your travel agent contact us.

  4. Worth it to me. I am sailing in 2020. Solo in a balcony.

The cost for the cabin was $1278 when I priced it before S&S.

The cost after S&S was $1649.

I will drink between 5-10 drinks (alcoholic, soda, coffee) per day for an median of 7.5. At $12 that's $90/day. Over the course of my cruise that is $630. This makes the Premier Beverage Package worth it by itself. ($68.99*7=$482.93)

The difference in cabin cost (note I haven't included port fees, taxes simply room & board) is $371. I see it as a savings of about $112.

  5. Why unfortunately?
When you have to "sneak" to do something, it implies that it's against the rules. There is an alcohol package available for purchase, as well as the ability to buy alcohol from the Fun Shop for the room. You can pay per drink on board. You may also bring on wine and champagne for a corkage fee. Why would one choose to "sneak" when there are options available?

  6. Thank you for your reply...but what happens after final payment date when they have all your money and the person has to cancel....Also is this refund for name change also based on the fact that she must have bought the insurance...

Cancelling and changing a name are two different things. I was answering only as to changing the name of a passenger. For example, you have John Smith, Jane Doe, Steve Doe and Mary Smith in a cabin on a past guest rate, no airfare. You could change Jane Doe to Sally Jones.

Are they cancelling after final payment or changing the passenger?

  7. For bookings that do not include airfare booked through Carnival, and not booked under a restricted/non-refundable fare*, there is no charge for a name change.

*Restricted and Non-Refundable fares include the following but not limited to these promotions: Early Saver, Pack & Go, Super Saver, etc.

I am currently booked as a solo on a past guest rate w/ a promotion through my TA. I have verified through Carnival and my TA that if I add someone (same as a name change) there is no fee to add/change a name.

  8. Due to the fact that your son will be 17 the following applies "Guests 13 - 17 years of age:Can be separated by up to 3 staterooms from a relative or guardian (25 years of age or older)."

Therefore the answer to your question is you will have to get two cabins that can not be separated by more than 3 staterooms. I would choose across the hall (for "noise" reasons ;)).

  9. Sail & Sign Account Opened with Cash or Traveler's Checks

    • Guests may activate their Sail & Sign account on Carnival.com, My Cruise Manager, Online Check-in, or on the first day of the cruise at embarkation.
    • Guests must deposit cash (USD currency only) or Traveler's Checks (USD currency only) at Guest Services on the first day of the cruise. The following minimum cash deposits are recommended:
      • 2 - 4 day cruise: $100 USD per person
      • 5 - 8 day cruise: $200 USD per person
      • 9 days or longer: $350 USD per person

[*]Guests may add additional cash to their account by visiting the Guest Services desk on board.

  10. Do we have to book excursions in Cuba or can we do our own thing?

As I mentioned in my review, we did our own thing. You can book through NCL, you can book via another provider (there are a lot of options in the Cuba forum), you can wait and hire someone just outside the terminal or choose to just walk around.

  11. I don't have pricing. I think it varies by game. Fees are charged directly to your onboard account. Parents, if you do not wish for your child to have access, please visit the reception desk and deactivate your child's card.

  12. We had a 1:35pm (boarding at 1:00pm) flight in June. We got up at 7am, had a quick breakfast, went back to the room to grab our bags, got to the terminal and hailed an UBER. We got in the car at 8:48am. Arrived at FLL (yes FLL that's further away) at 9:28am. Needless to say, we could have stayed in bed or at breakfast longer.

You should be fine. I think it's about 15 minutes from Port of Miami to Miami Int'l.

  13. Not sure if you know about the honeymoon registry! If not, call Carnival or your TA. Best wishes on a wonderful life together.

"Once you've decided to spend your honeymoon on a Carnival cruise, your friends and family can use the Carnival Honeymoon Registry to help you get even more out of that special first cruise of your new life together. Whether it’s upgrading to a bigger stateroom or going on exciting shore excursions together, use this exclusive registry service to let your friends and family know just what your ideal cruise looks like."

  14. They are eDocs (e = electronic). You do NOT need to print them.

If you like to print them, that's fine, but unnecessary.

You can download the NCL app on your phone and show them that way. If you are not technology inclined, I would wait until 48 hours before (once your cabin has been assigned and you are done making changes) then print.
