  1. We were sunbathing in Bergen... But unfortunately in my jeans as never took any shorts... Andy
  2. We visited the Fjords in May, be prepared for any weather. On the same 7 night cruise we were sunbathing and dodging torrential rain... The scenery was absolutely stunning. Would have no hesitation in going in May again. Andy
  3. We go over the top as we enjoy the dressing up, but your choice of outfits sound very smart and more than acceptable. Have a great time, Andy
  4. Perfectly explained Wowzz. I suppose the hardest part for P&O is making sure the experience still matches the offering... Andy
  5. Have a great day Pete, happy birthday. Love Thoresby Hall. Andy
  6. How nice to see some relevant, up to date, honest information without the usual cynicism. Great response Dave. Andy
  7. Have a look at the thread 'Ventura in Hamburg'. It seems some sort of refit is taking place now. Andy
  8. This resonates... Michelle wants to have a T shirt printed with 'It's OK, it's not Covid, it's Cancer'... Andy
  9. I don't know who the supplier was who went bust or when. Companies locally who supply them appear to be thriving and they certainly don't use only one, but costs have risen for everyone. My own position is that P&O have never been perfect, but have still had fantastic holidays, so hoping things don't deteriorate too much. Andy
  10. Fair points. Staffing is always the first thing companies look at when trying to cut costs as it can be a quick fix, but obviously this will ultimately affect the service. Andy
  11. Having things taken away that you feel you have paid for is not a nice feeling. After events of the last few years that are going to affect us all for a very long time, should we be surprised that things have changed? P&O/Carnival is a business that needs to secure its future. Their bills have increased just like ours. Should they be swallowing that loss, passing it on to us or trying to save costs? We all have decisions to make, we don't have to book and I'm sure many won't. Not defending them, just trying to understand. Just Sunday morning musings... Andy
  12. Oh bless you lovely people for your concern. All good here, thank you. Michelle has good and bad days, but gladly, more good than bad. I just got out of the habit of coming on here regularly and you soon lose track of what is going on, although I do check in occasionally to see what you lot are all getting up to... My Michelle is very jealous of Michelle (Peanut), she would love a little Peaches Penelope but the girls are not forthcoming with Grandchildren yet. We can keep praying... Take care everyone, Andy & Michelle xx
  13. Another vote for Staysure, Michelle did a tonne of research due to her lung cancer and they were by far the most reasonable. They don't just pump up the policy like others, they ask relevant questions regarding treatment etc. Andy
  14. Morning Sue, We are not going until the end of June on Brittania, but need to start getting the weight off... First one since before Covid, so very excited. Andy
  15. That's so sad Josy. If you are desperate for food, you don't care about brands... I'm sure many of us in our lifetime have had periods living off blue and white stripey beans etc when times are tough. It just shows how entitled some people feel these days. You do amazing things and are an inspiration to the rest of us, such a shame not everybody appreciates your efforts. Andy
  16. Getting the tux done up will be the challenge... Sure it will be worth it. Andy
  17. With us being on our pre cruise, get into our posh clothes diet, you are not helping GrahamπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Andy
  18. Aaaargh.... This really bothers me. We have just booked our first cruise since Covid and specifically booked late sitting for dinner so we could enjoy the afternoon tea in the mdr. We have tried the posh one, hated it. Couldn't get my head around duck in a chocolate meringue... I understand things change, but to still advertise it as a perk is just unfair. Andy
  19. Just Pre Covid, I had a birthday on Aurora, deliberately didn't tell any body as didn't want a fuss. The reception team left an answerphone message singing happy birthday, a card and chocolates were left in the room and the waiters and whole restaurant sang happy birthday and brought a slice of cake with a candle, none of it requested... They know your date of birth, be warned!!! Didn't think to tip anyone and didn't feel it was expected. Our end of cruise tips were probably a bit more than usual for the extra effort though. Andy
  20. Aah, so seems the advice above has now been superceded... This was taken from another site this morning. Oh well, we will just have to see where they stick us... Andy
  21. Despite the weather, the trick or treaters were out in force last night round here, but they only go to houses with pumpkins outside, so left us alone. Driving back from 'fat club', (yes, pre cruise diet so I don't have to buy a new tux), it was like a Zombie apocalypse... Zombies, fasands of em... πŸ˜‚ Andy
  22. Yeah, he is on it, but not too fussed about him, the dates suited us. It will be nice to get your feedback. Andy
  23. Shame, we are not going until the 30th June, so will be away for Michelle's birthday on the 5th July. I didn't realise how much I had missed cruising until we booked this one. Can't wait. Andy
