There are many places with high crime (Barcelona has been mentioned but, in our experience, Rio is much worse).

I'm linking an article about the 10 most dangerous ports that cruise ships visit.

Note:  The writer of the article (that was originally written in 2014) stated that the list has not changed since it was originally written.

I want to bring up one issue that I am always touting...... speaking up when something is not going the way it should.  Yesterday, the main lights in one room was blinking - very annoying.  So, we called about it in the morning.  Then the piano wasn't working and we called about that.  Lastly, Dennis wanted some diet drinks.  By 3:00 p.m., nothing had happened.  So, I stopped by to see Massimo (G.M.) and by the time I returned to the suite, the person that works on piano's was at our door (the issue ended up being ours - we somehow turned it off).  Then the butler was there with diet drinks.  Finally, it took 3 people to fix the electrical issue.  They were still there when we left the suite and everything was fixed by the time that we returned.  IMO, it is important to be pleasant to whomever you are speaking with as being upset or yelling is not necessary and makes the person that is yelling look bad.

    intresting reports & photos

bad that butler housekeeper reception did not give you what you wanted

butler should not get a tip

    who did you yell at?

We did’t sign up for concierge at booking because we didn’t know my wife would need back surgery at that time. Given this fact, we didn’t see concierge as a good deal. It is no larger than cat. H suites, and include no services we didn’t already have due to our gold status. |if my wife had not needed the surgery, the cruddy shower/tub combo would have been only a minor inconvenience, given our physical conditions at booking time. That is why we didn’t book concierge in the first place. But my wife’s physical condition changed for the worse due to the surgery after booking, and she could not handle that sorry shower/tub combo. The rest of the story and complaint I have already posted.

sorry for your problems but time to move on

There are a few of us that tend to book upper suites (although I only know of one or two posters that always book a Master Suite).  So, those of us that book these suites share our insights - whether it be how much storage space there is, the size of the balcony one suite category vs. another, etc.  Many questions do come up.  So, a few of us post photos of the suite and answer questions.  Speaking for myself - I have stayed in every category of suite on Explorer (except the two lowest categories that most Regent cruisers do not care for as they are more suited to solo travelers) so it is easy for me to respond to queries.

was regent suite worth the money?

have you booked it again for your dh birthday

P.S.  Gerry - the chemicals that are put into a public jacuzzi is also super important.  Unlike hot tubs/jacuzzi bathtubs in your home or suite that you fill and drain - no chemicals needed, public jacuzzi's need to be protected from many almost unspeakable things that enter the water.

    what unspeekable things?

    dont regent people ever wash?

As a matter of facts, the satellites that provide TV, Internet and similar are in what is called Geostationary Orbit which means relative to the earth, they remain as close as possible to stationary over a stationary point on the earth's equator at an altitude of 22,236 miles above sea level.  And, these satellites cover most, if not all of the planet earth.  The major issues that affect reception of the signal from the satellites is the amount of atmosphere the signal has to travel thru.

Because the satellites are all located over the equator, the further north or south from the equator increases the atmosphere the signals have to pass thru which can cause reception issues.  There are many other factors that can affect signal reception but, where the satellites are or where you are in the world rarely or ever affect reception.

interesting and of couse wifi speed on a ship has nothing to do with usage availability coverage or linespeeds in the countrys visited
