  1. And we finally heard him about 10 days into the cruise - he had Covid and was in isolation.

  4. Baltimore seems to be strict. They pull our wine out of the bag and examine it. Not sure what they are looking for. They are looking to see if it’s still sealed. 😎
  5. Service has improved, but still not the best. 😎 We have requested our original table from last week, for the next leg. She’s already come to say hi to us and ask us back. ❤️
  6. We actually didn’t notice that until the second night. 🤣. There are so many little things involved in good service that go unnoticed. 💖
  7. Situation that is new to me - really bad service in the MDR. Our team, as far as I can tell, have four tables. My 6-top has only four of us; the 6-top next to us has one two. But the other two tables look to be 10 tops, full. They seem to all be first-time cruisers being led by a man who shuttled between the tables the first night explaining the menu, in Dutch (??). None speak English. They are ordering wine for the table, have special requests, call the waiter over to explain. These two waiters are simply overwhelmed and we are getting the crap end of it. Our tablemates said tonight they are done,, they will be eating elsewhere - his iced tea arrived after appetizers, entrées were lukewarm, our table was never properly served: no soup spoons brought for appetizers, no crumb scraper. 😔 So I’m pretty tolerant and don’t want to jeopardize any one’s job, but should this be reported to the head waiter or maitre’d? These people need help. Suggestions?

  9. Nope, but I’ll ask around. For the Crossing, our Deck 2 OV guarantee got requisitioned for Covid quarantine and the gave us a spacious balcony instead, so that’s good.
  10. Windjammer, which is what I prefer. Don’t think MDR was open, don’t know about speciality. By the way, there is no Freestyle soda machine on board, but they have a soda station on the pool deck with 2 liter bottles on ice.

  13. They didn’t give a number at the Top Tier event, I’ll try to find out. They did mention that C&A members will be the majority for the next two cruises. August 21 sailing: C&A 732 267 gold 108 platinum 68 emerald 125 diamond 120 Diamond + 44 pinnacle highest points were 2333, 1838, and 1831.
  14. Yeah, that’s not what they told us when we boarded. We went anyway since we were walking around. I found my must-have souvenir: they have found door magnets that room stewards out in about 2:30-3 pm for people who haven’t checked in to the muster station yet. I’m asking my room steward for one. 😎
  15. We’re on board! to answer a few questions: Arrived at the port by taxi easy peasy. Got on board in 10 minutes at 11 am. They examined the negative test, twice, glanced at the vaccine card. They have regular soda cups. Windjammer is fully self-serve. We do not have to physically go to muster station, just have to watch the video on the app or in the room. Ships looks awesome. I’ll check back in tomorrow. We’re onboard through September 18, when she arrives in Boston.
  16. Just make sure you tell them when you wish to purchase a drink instead of using your free ones. if you get a cheaper soda, but plan on getting a more expensive pina colada later, let them know when you order that you want to be charged. 😎

  20. OK, let's say they did. They go to the cashier in the casino and hand it in, and the cashier can immediately see that this person is not the person who earned the voucher.
  21. Separate question: somewhere in one of the Royal Up discussions, a person was concerned that they lost their covid Double Points because they won an upgrade. Did that ever get cleared up?
  22. Exactly. We took Nieuw Amsterdam, and the evening shows were poorly attended but the sunrise talks by the naturalist on deck were full. People were there for the nature, not the entertainment.
  23. Thanks, I went back and checked your review as soon as we got the itinerary change. 🙂 Did you notice any good brewpubs, or bakeries? Those are my passion.
