  1. We will be a group of four adults on the Gem this October. We will be going to Cagney's one night and three of us will be ordering steaks. The third doesn't eat beef or seafood. Would she be able to order something from the MDR or O'Sheehan's and have it served in Cagney's? If it makes a difference we are all booked in the Haven.

  2. I have organized a pub crawl the last two years, first on the Getaway then on the Escape this past Feb. With both we decided to do it right after sail way. This way everyone could get a feel for the ship. We hung out with people we met on the pub-crawl the rest of the week. The other reason we did it the first day was because of the the activities planned for the first sea day, M & G, gift exchange, cabin crawl and slot pull. Doing it after sail away means it will run into dinner but that was not a problem. Key is to hold to a "schedule" at least the first three bars, 15-20 minutes at each bar. After that things start to take on a life of their own! We started at Margaretaville at 4:45, then Waves bar, down to seven for O'Sheehan's, then up to eight for Sugarcane, Sunset/5 O'Clock bar on the waterfront and the District Brew House. Key with timing was hitting the sunset bar/5 O'Clock Somewhere on the water front at sunset! The crew that made it to the DBH were the people we hung out with the rest of the week. With the Getaway, Sunset bar was the last stop. I put together cocktail and beer trivia and attempted to connect it to the bar. We gave out poker cards for correct answers, best hand won and were crowned king/queen of trivia. This past Feb we had two outstanding trivia masters so we crowned a Queen and King! First time the group was about 20, this year we started with over 30. It is a great way to meet people and get the layout of the ship. We asked that everyone wear Mardi Gras beads to identify they were part of the group, I brought extras.

That sounds amazinly fun! We need you to join the Gem 10/20 cruise and organize the m/g and a pub crawl. :) :D;);)

  3. When you get off the ship in Victoria there will be lines for cabs ready to go....think we paid $10 Canadian to get into the downtown area to do some shopping. Even if you decide to get off the ship a few hours later there will be cabs waiting. We have gone on a horse drawn carriage ride through the town...tallyho carriages. It's a beautiful town.

  4. Just finished with American Airlinres and am beyond upset. They could provide no explanation for a "seat fix" that they made March 1st. The only suggestions they offered were to take a chance on a seat becoming available, downgrade to a main cabin seat or move to a flight departing 2 hours and twenty minutes later. We were on the same reservation when purchased last October. In my opinion they oversold the flight and either deliberately or randomly chose to take away one of our seats. This is unacceptable. I will be sending letters to Customer Relations and AA Corporate office seeking an explanation and apology. Planning ahead did absolutely no good because of the way the airline chooses to operate.

You were in fc and they gave the seat away? How awful!

I had that happen after I checked in for my flight one time with AA...fc also. Didn't find out till I tried to board. I stood my group, politely and they moved the passenger from my seat.

  5. After reading your post I went in and checked on my flights for October...sure enough leaving Phoenix changed. Wouldn't surprise me at all if my flight changed again before my October cruise.

Good luck with your flights....seems like walk off is your best bet.

  6. Make sure it is a car just for you guys and not a shared van. Shared means they can make other stops on the way including Newark airport.

Been there and they are trying to do that...send a van. Daves limo...ugggg

  7. It depends on where you are at, travel time from the garage to counts with some of them. To be safe go with the big names. I haven't used them but friends swear by king limo.

    Thanks....will check out King limo.

I have a quote of $350 each way with Daves limo....so your price is definitely in the ball park.

  8. What kind of budget were you looking at. I have looked in the past and they are around 350 each way.

Yep, that's about what I'm looking at for a budget. If you can't post the name or a link here can you send me an email?

    Thanks!

  9. I use a scooter. I know how to run over feet. I do it well. I also know how to bump people who get a step outside the elevator and stop to figure out where to go,

I'll put you in the same category as the man who was in such a rush to get off the elevator he planted his size 12's on my toe and broke it. Rude, rude, rude.
