  1. Depends. We booked four adjacent cabins for an Oasis 8/2023 sailing, cabins 10598, 10600, 10602, 10604. The connecting cabins (10602, 10604, category CB) were cheaper than the category 2C's right next to them. mac_tlc
  2. I was on the same Oasis cruise. We had a good number of jalapenos on the nachos. The wings were very good. I like the hot CK plates. Food actually stays hot. The MDR is always (ok, maybe not always, but often) lukewarm --like the one time we ordered full breakfast from room service. I think they should invest in some of those Dominos pizza insulated bags for hot room service food. mac_tlc
  3. We sailed both within about two months of each other. They certainly are more similar than different. A couple of things on the Apex that we thought were improvements: 1) Solarium hot tubs -- two on Apex and up against the wall -- better location 2) Theatre -- Apex digital screens were fabulous, and Edge is pretty dang good 3) Rooftop Garden -- A couple of large sunshades/umbrellas help to give a few shady spots 4) Retreat Sundeck -- Again, more large sunshades/umbrellas to help you find some shade. 5) Craft Social - nicer than the casino bar on Edge, with large screen showing sporting events. We love E-class. If you have reservations about doing Apex, how about Beyond instead?? mac_tlc
  4. Sorry that your cruise was not as good as expected. For me, the upgrade from CBP to PBP is a no brainer. I like bourbon/whiskey and to get Woodford/Bulleit/Buffalo Trace the PBP pays for itself quickly. We just got off the Oasis of the Seas on Sunday and the liquor selection had a lot to be desired. Of course, the onboard store had everything........ mac_tlc
  5. I do like the "grandness" of the MDR on this class of ship. The staircase and large chandelier and open feel of the center. Very nice. mac_tlc
  6. We won a RU for a JS to GS on the Oasis last week. Bid a little above min, but still in their "weak" zone. If I paid for the GS outside of RU, I would have paid about 3X what our bid was. At that price, I didn't want it, at our bid, I did. mac_tlc
  7. Sad that I can’t be with the you this time, but excited to follow along. Of all the places we have been on 40+ cruises, we have never been to Bermuda. I am stalking a June journey on Celebrity Summitt though! mac_tlc
  8. As long as highlighters are trivia prizes, printed compasses will continue. 😜😜. mac_tlc
  9. On Oasis last week they were on the bed each night without having to ask. Also at Guest Services. mac_tlc
  10. Have a great trip ! don't miss the Aqua showcase if they run it.. mac_tlc
  11. Thanks Benny, it was fun piggybacking on the photo legend! We headed off at about 7:30, were in the car and headed to the NJ TP by 8:04. Pulled into the driveway at 9:52. First load is in the dryer, second load in the washer. Hope all the 5/8 cruisers have a wonderful trip and am interested in your boarding process. As I type this at 12:01, looks like Oasis is back at the dock. As a matter of fact, I took a look at marine traffic where you can see the track and it looks like it never left????? Hope that true, should make for a better day !! Next trip -- Harmony of the Seas 8/14/2022. Its our annual family trip for the 8 of us and we have the 4-Bedroom Villa Suite . I'll probably do a LIVE review for that one. mac_tlc
  12. Well that was a bumpy night! Probably in the top three roughest of our 40+ cruises. Went to see the HUMANS last night, only 4 of the 6 band members played. They didn’t say what the issue was. Music Hall was pretty empty. I saw the first folks getting off at 6:15am. We will take our time a bit, one more breakfast on CK, then off to the car for the 90 mile ride home. Should be in the driveway by 10:30. Overall a great week, love the ship, but there were a number of minor hiccups that seemed to pop up. Nothing major, just not the well-oiled machine. We will be back in September.
  13. It’s Famous Movie Quote trivia time: “Fasten your seatbelt, it’s going to be a bumpy night”
  14. Some interesting facts: 4800 expected next week, then 5000 or so week after that, then 5000+ through June. Ship draft (amount of ship under the waterline) is about 30ft. Need additional 3 ft of depth to sail, if going very slow. When the ship is going faster it “squats” or sinks lower in the water. At 10pm, it squats about 7 Ft. Retractable smoke stacks make it possible to fit under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Those retractable stacks were originally necessary to get under the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark when the ship was built and to get to the open ocean. That was 2009. Never needed again until they repositioned to NJ. Behind the Scenes tour has not operated since Covid. However, I sensed some optimism that they will resume, most likely not until the crew mask requirement ends. Oasis has 7 godmothers, one for each “neighborhood”. Their pictures are to the left of the Guest Services desk. From the pool deck you can see something that looks like a rocket launcher. It’s the crane that is used to raise and lower plants and trees into Central Park. mac_tlc
  15. Sailed through some thunder storms over night. Top outside decks were closed this morning at 7ish. Clearing up a bit now, no rain, a little wind. Currently we are roughly off the coast of Cape Hatteras. Seas were like glass yesterday. In our experience, the Oasis class are the most stable ships, probably due to their large beam (width). mac_tlc
  16. Whiskey/Bourbon update. Makers Mark has appeared in Solarium Bar, Suite Lounge, Casino Bar. Was already in Lime and Coconut. Buffalo Trace also in Casino Bar. mac_tlc
  17. With the wheelchair, maybe they have a priority line through security. If they do, it would be on the far right as you enter the terminal building. Good Luck. Keep saying "by 2:00, I'll have a drink in my hand" .😆😆😆 mac_tlc
  18. Unless I missed it, I didn’t see any priority lines, at least to get through security. After security there was a separate Suite/Pinnacle line. It wasn’t much quicker than the regular line and is the longest walk through the terminal to the escalator up to the ship mac_tlc
  19. Here are the hours for Johnny Rockets today. Been the same every day. To me, without the UDP, I’m not paying $12 for it. As far as the attraction for breakfast, we liked sitting out on the Boardwalk —- for Caribbean cruises it’s not yet crazy hot and humid at that hour. Service was swift, food very good.
