We were on the Sovereign for its first passenger voyage in the USA. After having been on the Songs and the Nordic Prince, we were amazed by the Sovereign. I still think those older ships were so much classier, with much better food, and much better service. I do not like the " amusement parks at sea" ships or the "city at sea" ships at all.

On our upcoming Voyager cruise, we have the 3 dinner package. We want Chops and Giovanni's only, going twice to one of them. Do we HAVE to go to Izumi's on the package?

Is RCCL currently charging for room service?

There is no reef at Fort James Beach...it is sandy bottom several hundred yards out. Also, Beach Limerz has recently come under new management. I have not met the new people, so I can not attest to the quality of food , service or facilities there now.

Okay...For Covid testing purposes, Celebrity Cruise Lines defines embarkation as the DAY of embarkation. For example, if a Celebrity ship is leaving on a Saturday at 5PM, a test taken any time on the preceding Thursday is considered "48 hours" before embarkation. Does HAL have the same policy? Our HAL ship departs at 4PM October 8, 2022. We took our COVID tests on October 6 at 7:30 AM, technically more than 48 hours before the ship actually embarks. Are we okay? This has never been a problem on Celebrity. Anyone have the answer?

We are on the July 31 sailing as well... and the August 7 sailing right after. I am not at all concerned about shortages either.

It's funny that this misconception still exists....that cruises are for old people. We took our very first cruise when we were about your ages. We contacted a travel agent by phone and made an appointment to see her. When we walked in the door, her jaw dropped and she blurted out " Oh my..you're YOUNG!" We went to a different travel agent the next day and booked the RCCL ship The Song of Norway. We did not feel too young on that cruise or any other cruise since. Now, more than 40 years and 120 + cruises later ( yes..we have lost count), I WISH I had your problem!!! You need not be concerned. You'll fit right in.

Anyone been to Elbow Beach recently? I am having trouble finding recent information. I understand the last hurricane did some damage...Any information would be greatly appreciated!

It is a great place..it is about 10 minutes by cab...15 with midday traffic..
