  1. So sorry that you have to deal with all the mishaps, especially so early in the trip. It can set a really bad tone for the cruise. But you have a great attitude, love your outlook. Nice to see so many helping out out.
  2. Renaming the Diamond Lounge. And possible merging of Loyalty programs. No "real" information given but plenty of speculation as to what it may mean to both programs.
  3. I can think of a few people this applies to but there is a certain Bickering aNd Disruptive person that jumps to mind.
  4. I would love to see him come back the Yankees. I wished they had offered him the head coaching position back in 2007 instead of Joe Giriadi. I've always wondered if there was some behind the scenes bad blood.
  5. Thanks. 2nd time is a charm. When I clicked into the thread the first time the other day, I didn't have much interest. Perhaps my A.D.D kicked in & I was put-off by the long winded first post or maybe the "dual personality" of the OP or whatever but I don't think I read more than the first page. This time, much more enjoyable. I guess I need to be in the right frame of mind. 🙂
  6. okay, thanks! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on any juicy drama that might be happening on the main boards. 😉😇 I couldn't get into the Royal is the Worst for Missing Atlantis thread but at least the renaming of the Diamond Lounge & Merging Loyalty programs with Celebrity threads is providing some entertainment. Some people have come up with interesting scenarios given that there is almost no information given out yet. And I thought I had an over active imagination. 😄
  7. Do you not like his folksy grandpa-like ways when giving post-game interviews or analysis? It can be quite entertaining.
  8. If the Yankees fire both Boone & Cashman, that would be better than winning the World Series. Time for a new regime, the old one isn't working very well.
  9. This is a good omen for the Mets. Whenever a team fires Buck Showalter, they either win the World Series the following year (1996 Yankees, 2001 Diamondback) or at least make a deep playoff run (2010 Texas Rangers....okay, it was 3 years after the firing). Two years after being fired from the Orioles, they are looking pretty strong this year. Coincidence? Maybe. Or he installs a winning culture in the clubhouse that future teams benefit from. How does the old saying go? "Always an Empire builder but never the Emperor".
  10. It was such a dump before. Now it's a place you won't mind getting stranded in, heck, even hang out in. However, the never-ending road work makes dropping off & picking up people a nightmare. Something I do too much of.
  11. One of my favorite Billy Joel concert what his tour with Elton John. I think it was called "Face to Face, Battle of the Pianos".
  12. Dani - so sorry to read that your recent trips have not gone great, especially after the years of not being able to travel freely during the C19 era. Despite the health issues, hopefully you were able to enjoy your visit with DS and hope that your DH feels better soon.
  13. I've been a fan of Billy Joel for as long as I can remember. I saw his show at MSG only once, probably 7 or 8 years ago. Last show will be July 2024.
  14. Add me to the list of people recommending "A Book of Mormon". I saw it this past August and is indeed very enjoyable. I can see one or two jokes that might offend some if they are a bit on the sensitive side but by and large, enjoyable. My neighbor recommended a new play to me called "Schucked", a musical comedy about a town trying to figure out why all their corn is dying. Plenty of Dad-type jokes so it should offend nobody. I'm going to try & see it in the next month or so. https://shuckedmusical.com/?gclsrc=ds Another new play that starts Oct 18th is call "Harmony", based on a true story of a musical group in 1920's & 30's Germany. I had received a flyer in the mail with a discount code for $69 & $99 tickets to select performances. Unfortunately, I don't see it in my pile of junk mail so it might have accidentally got thrown in the garbage. 🤬 But I'm sure a google search can find something. https://harmonyanewmusical.com/
  15. I thought the same thing! Looks fantastic! I can see why you love traveling in it so much. Sure, it might be missing an ocean view balcony but the mountain views you've posted before are pretty nice....and you have a much better shower than a cruise ship. 🙂 And what is this clutter your speak of? It's my dream to get to that level of organization. 😄
  16. She'll get their safely, it'll just take a long time with all the road closures. Once she gets to the other side of the Hudson River, conditions are much better. Looking at the weather map, the Hudson seems to be the dividing line, heavy rain to the east, not too much on the west side of it. My nephew is currently on his way to RI for a car show this weekend. I hope he enjoys his time in the 200 mile long parking lot, formerly known as I-95. Hopefully he packed a sandwich for the trip.
  17. Stay dry Lenny! Plenty of flooding north of NYC as well. Once again, for the 2nd or 3rd time this year, we received a month worth of rain in a few short hours. A lot of parkways that were built in the 1920's & 1930's with names like Bronx River Parkway, Saw Mill River Parkway, etc - since they were built next to or on top of those rivers - are flooded. No surprise since water flows to where it's always been. I learned early in my driving days to avoid roads with the word "river" in the name during heavy rain storms. Fortunately, I live on high ground. No flooding in my immediate vicinity
  18. Of course, you'd want to mention your least successful career. I haven't watched Survivor in years but from what I remember, if someone was "too successful" (i.e. lawyer, pro athlete, etc), they become an immediate target as they were deemed not worthy of winning since they didn't t need the money. I remember the season with Johnny "Fair Play" telling the story of his dead grandmother who was actually alive & healthy in order to get sympathy votes. I probably stopped watching the show shortly afterwards.
  19. Have you tried Kraken?😇😉 Seriously, feel better soon. Same goes for @A&L_Ont, Mr. & Mrs @Jimbo and @Sea Dog Hope I didn't forget anyone
  20. Is this what passes as "Sports" news these days? 😉 I mean, the link says CBS Sports, not CBS Entertainment http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/taylor-swift-travis-kelce-rumors-pop-star-set-to-attend-chiefs-vs-jets-on-sunday-night-per-report/ I wonder if Swifties are going to take over the parking lot hoping to get a glimpse.
