  1. Another saved ship is the Vasa in the Vasa Museum in Stockholm. It sunk it's first time out as it was top heavy.
  2. Why do you fear that? Actually, the next dominant species may not even be alive. It could be AI, Artificial Intelligence.
  3. Hopefully we will never have to find out what would happen in that scenario.
  4. On a different cruise line we did a Bob Marley bus tour in Jamaica. (It was a ship's tour.) And I was glad to see a part of Jamaica that tourists normally do not see. And we and the others on the bus felt perfectly safe.
  5. I think it is safe to say no one on a cruise is going to St. Petersburg anytime in the near future.
  6. We were given our anniversary cake after we had finished our meals including dessert. After we took a few bites, we took it back to the cabin. We did have to find something smaller to have it fit into the mini-refrigerator.
  7. Did anyone ask about the room service menu for the brig? 🤣
  8. Whew, at least both the morgue and the brig are small.
  9. Yes, and even when there is an uneasy peace, there is always the chance of hostilities breaking out.
  10. You are welcome. As an example of what they do, here is what we ended up with. We flew to London with one stop in Montreal with Air Canada. I wish there had been more time between flights as our first flight was delayed and then sat at the airport in Montreal waiting for a parking space. By the time we got to our second flight's gate, they were already boarding. We flew back direct from Reykjavik on Iceland Air. We paid no baggage fees on any of our flights. I should not that there were a few complaints on our roll call from cruisers who not only had stops on the way back, but also did not have flights until the night or the next day. We had an overnight in Reykjavik. but they would not assign anyone an early flight on the day of disembarkation even though they were available for those passengers who had the complaints.
  11. There is a $25 credit for the first person, but not the second as that fare is considered "free". The $75 for the transfer was included for us even though we had a one day deviation. We left it as we stayed at a hotel by the airport instead of going to London. We were going to do that anyway as we did not want to drag our bags to London. Note the transfer is only good from the airport even with the deviation. There may be a difference on that if you book one of their hotels. For our trip back from Reykjavik, DW said we are not staying hours at the airport, so she booked an excursion for us back to the airport. We were told the $75 BOGO fee would come off automatically, but it did not, and I had to go to guest services to get it removed.
  12. They actually show the morgue on behind the fun tours?
  13. Non-stop---maybe, maybe not. Baggage fees and seat choices will be up to the airline chosen, but in general there are not baggage fees for trans-Atlantic flights at least for the first bag
  14. And I can add that no one asked for boarding times in Southampton, UK.
  15. Yes, on our Prima sailing this past summer, they just took everyone from the transfer bus (from London). We were supposed to be in the batch the next half hour as that was when I estimated we would be there, but no one even looked.
  16. Congratulations on that. 👍 I remember your review on this board. IIRC, you were on the cruise after ours. You would have been leaving Reykjavik on 8/17 if I got that correct.
  17. It has to help that income is going up, but there still is the large debt caused by the Covid shutdown.
  18. Thanks, we got double points on our second NCL cruise, a Western Mediterranean cruise on the Epic in 2012 for our 35th anniversary. I don't think I realized at the time we each got the extra points, but they came in handy for the next NCL cruise as it put us at the next Latitudes level.
  19. But if it is a criminal trial, it is neither Carnival or Park West that is prosecuting. Just for argument's sake and to pick a venue for the prosecution, let us say it is Baltimore as that was the port. It would be the State of Maryland versus the defendants.
  20. Makes sense, but how do they do the BOGO air if either or both the embarkation and disembarkation port is in Israel?
  21. How does one find out about these offers? Do you have to constantly check the NCL website?
  22. Maybe they have to decide on the charge. A theft of $13,000 would be grand theft, but what jury would believe in that valuation?
