  1. Which is the reverse of coming FROM the TBIT to Delta.
  2. Absolutely. In addition, passengers on the same cruise, flying from A to B, may have different flights from one another. Much depends on the inventory that Viking (or any cruiseline) has available to them for any particular flight and date. And FWIW, the inventory available is usually NOT the same as what you would find from the airline directly. The "low cost" carriers ARE scheduled airlines. Do not confuse them with charter operators.
  3. That is an airside connector. You will be landside after passing through customs in TBIT. As such, you won't have access to that connector. Plus, you will have to take your checked bags landside to DL to have them checked for your next flight.
  4. Then you will need to schlep the bags yourself. Hope you have plenty of cushion in your timing. If you miss your DL flight, you will be considered a no-show, and the fact that you were delayed out of PPT will mean nothing. Caveat emptor.
  5. Replied to in the Oceania thread you posted.
  6. Incorrect. It completely depends on both the airline and the specific fare basis of the ticket. You cannot make a blanket statement about miles, either that you always will or always won't. You discovered this for YOUR tickets.
  7. At LAX, there are free luggage carts in the international customs-area baggage claim. You can easily take the carts out of TBIT, take a left at the street and walk to the DL terminal (T2/3). Interestingly, at SFO there is a charge for the carts inside customs - $6. Now, the important question....are you on two separate tickets from PPT to LAX to ???. If it is one ticket, and the bags are through checked, you can just drop them off after leaving the customs area.
  8. You didn't stay "free". You stayed using an alternative currency. Those IHG points were a rebate, albeit not in dollars. Did you get an effective exchange rate for those points? Hopefully you got at least a half-cent per point value for using your points. 80,000 or less.
  9. FWIW, Crystal used to regularly post that information for all of their cruises on the website. That is not back to full implementation. However, since they have only two ships, and the senior staff stays with the same ship, it's an easy task to find out who's who. Serenity will always one of two captains, of two hotel directors, of two cruise directors. Ditto for Symphony. And FWIW, most all of the staff also stay with the same ship. So you can come back and find much the same personnel (albeit with vacation shuffling) in all public facing functions.
  10. FWIW, I never worry about staying near the cruise port. I first think "where would I just stay if I was in town for a day or two?" If that's anywhere reasonable for overall transport in the Airport to Hotel to Ship continuum, I go for it. Somehow, that overall distance works out about the same unless you go really out of your way. Like cruising out of Manhattan....pretty much everything is on the way from JFK or LGA, so no need to be on the west side by the terminal. Find the neighborhood you like and go from there.
  11. Well, Royal Caribbean has Johnny Rockets onboard. Can Oceania be moving to match? 😀
  12. Whether or not you have to go through a security screening, you are fine with this connection. There is dedicated screening for those doing connections and it goes easily. As long as your flights are on one ticket, your bags will be checked in at BOS and you will see them in SIN. Two JAL tips: Take the Japanese meal onboard - quite good and is not full of "strange" food, just very flavorful. And if you enjoy good whiskey, pick up a bottle of Japanese whiskey at the NRT duty-free.
  13. True. Order should be: App Phone Lounge Service Desk And one can always multi-task three of them at once.
  14. I was gonna use that joke myself. Glad someone else enjoys it.
  15. And notice....not a single person in that line is on the phone to UA. Amateurs.
  16. Net yield: 6.9% Operating loss: $1.86 Billion on gross revenue of $4.7 Billion. Which means for every dollar of revenue, they lost almost 40 cents. Interestingly, the article focuses on the bookings, not the financial performance. Hmmm.
  17. Why not give them a call and see if you can book something now for 2025. They may be able to put you in for a hotel and tours and fill in the flights later. Can't hurt to ask what their timings are?
  18. Completely a sidebar, but I always wondered what happened to that statue of Caesar that was in the casino.
  19. Beyond just looking at FI, look at the tour packages that Icelandair offers. You can get some excellent deals on combinations of flights, hotels and tours.
  20. One should consider - does the case open up so that it is roughly 50-50 on both sides, or is it more of a "single compartment" with a small (if any) "lid" area? The former would be able to slip under beds when opened, but the latter might have some difficulty. My Aleon is the latter design, and it does have issues going under a cruise bed. So it stays home for cruises. (great bag otherwise)
  21. Ditto. I still feel there is something missing in this whole affair.
  22. None of which will actually be returned to the company. The outfit doing the survey is almost certainly charged to only return comments directly relating to the credit card questions, with others being filtered out. Extraneous comments are usually just lumped as a quantity number into "other".
  23. A hundred dollar bag 20 years ago isn't like a hundred dollar bag today.
  24. They would not be involved in any of the actual operation of the card. The current RCCL and Celebrity cards are issued by Bank of America, who do all the banking operations. I would assume this would also be with BoA.
  25. That's quite reasonable for quality luggage. Take a look at prices for Tumi and Rimowa. Your average $100 bag won't stand up to anything more than infrequent travel. You get what you pay for.
