  1. Thanks i was just trying to clarify with the link which i believe is accurate. I’m booking a studio but thats good to know i’d get more if booked a different type if indeed that is what it is as a lot of confusion on this thread.
  2. Thanks, i found this article and it sounds like solo guests only get 1 meal now https://eatsleepcruise.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-norwegian-cruise-lines-free-at-sea/ It sounds like internet is per person so i believe you’d get 150 minutes but i’m not sure its nice the airfare is 50% off
  3. Can someone clarify what a solo cruiser gets for free at sea for dining and internet? It is confusing when they give a save off amount that appears different from couples.
  4. The weather for our cruise was forecast as bad and it was bad so sorry never assume you will have good weather. Bring clothes for everything
  5. Thanks very much for sharing your experience! It was a great review. I’d like to sail crown princess now!
  6. Its good to get a variety of opinions although perhaps the fact there is not a lot of negative feedback, says something.
  7. Thanks julig22, i think thats what i recall in the other thread too that if there is a refare your airfare could change. To rephrase my other question, i guess i’m wondering on the last day if ncl gives you enough time to get to the airport/ go through customs. Also, can people speak to if they’ve done a red eye what they thought about it? I’m debating between mexico and caribbean. With caribbean ncl airfare costs 400.00 which is dirt cheap. The catch is there is a possibility its a red eye flight. It may be a bit of a tangent but i think its related as ncl can give these red eye flights. I wouldn’t take one otherwise.
  8. I’m debating between mexico vs. The caribbean. With mexico its a nicer ship (ncl bliss) and 4 ports which i like. As i’m from vancouver the airfare is cheaper. But the caribbean has a strong pull. Do people like the mexican cruise when they go on it or do they prefer the caribbean? I would go to puerta vallarta, cabo san lucas, mazatlan and ensenada. Just to add i’ve only been to caribbean side-cozumel, cancun and playa del carmen.
  9. Do you think if you’re from canada and have to go through us customs you would request a day deviation on way back? Or are they good about taking that in account? Also i asked this in another thread but i’m wondering if your airfare is fixed at time of your initial payment or if it could change. I’m not clear on that.
  10. Good to know! I don't think i've received any recently.
  11. Thanks everyone for the responses. Do people think they’d schedule a red eye from vancouver to mexico?
  12. Its interesting on my royal caribbean sailing i thought there were not a lot of people on the deck for the inside passage. The best time to be out there was when they had the closing show. I had the whole deck to myself!
  13. Thanks for the replies, yes i think my problem may have been i wasn't logged in so i wasn't seeing the private sale prices. I will try and take a look at them now!
  14. Are there any good deals with these private sales? I got a flyer in the mail about a year ago and i thought it may have some good deals but since then i get emails with private sales and i don’t know if i should bother looking at them.
  15. Thanks. That sounds like a nice space. Good to know there is shade.
  16. Thanks for info on the tour. I love the ferry ride!
  17. Thanks purple traveller. I've gone to victoria plenty of times but i don't recall going into the parliament buildings. I'm going in september and that would be a nice thing to do. I'm surprised you didn't show ferry pictures unless i missed it.
  18. Thanks for those tips, laudergayle. Good to know there is some indoor space on the epic as well. I am having a hard trouble deciding. Mexican would be cheaper due to airfare but it would be fun to go to kennedy space center or epcot centre before the caribbean cruise. And i do feel the caribbean is more a bucket list item. I am seeing what quotes my travel agent provides. Epic is cheaper then bliss right now by 200.00
  19. Thanks everyone for the responses! This thread has picked up steam. Looks like the edge is still going to the bliss. I know the assumption appears to be i'll spend all my time outside as its a warm climate. But if there is no shade i think i'd be likely to be indoors some of the time. On the epic, the only place indoors i got the sense i could be was in the library which didn't look that nice. I thought there was a promenade on the bliss as well? Good to hear the studio lounge is close to the same on both ships. I'm not a big drinker so bar doesn't matter. As for smoking, on the brilliance it was on one side of the promenade deck. It was grouse and i don't know where they can put these people where non smokers aren't affected. The caribbean still has a pull. . .
  20. I’m sorry to hear you didn’t go through inside passage on way back, and yes they should have told you. On my brilliance of the seas cruise i couldn’t even see the scenery as it was so foggy on day 2. On the way back we had lovely beautiful skies and the scenery was beautiful. So it does pay to have the 2 days. Its interesting to hear about the weather on various dates. June 25 sailing only inside passage and ketchikan were sunny, sitka was ok and hubbard and juneau it was foggy and raining. Interesting to hear from dockman that weather on may 23 cruise wasn’t good either, that was the date i was considering going on the crown. I would think an advantage of the longer cruise is you have a better chance of some better days.
  21. Are the pools and spice2O areas nice on the bliss?
  22. I’m glad this thread has been of use to people. I’m not sure i can go on the cruise i booked unfortunately. Its the jan 7th 2024 to puerto rico which was a good deal (price for solo has since gone up) but doesn’t work well with my work. However it is good to have this information if i go to the caribbean another time.
  23. Thanks libtrek, so far i’ve been on 2 small ships and i’m not sure how i’ll like the bigger ship. I am interested in the studio cabins and lounge.
  24. HI Traveling Man, I agree i usually sail for the itinerary. But i am feeling more now that the ship is part of the trip. You are on it for all your dinners and sometimes there are sea days. My last cruise we weren't into port until the afternoon so i was on the ship all morning. In any event, i am not 100% sold on the epic itinerary anyways. I am feeling like i should wait until i go on a longer trip to the caribbean as i am on the west coast and airfare expensive.
