As a vancouverite, i am sorry people had a bad time at the port which didn’t represent our city well. Are the cruiselines partly to blame?

I’ve now found a cruise that goes to san juan and puerta plata, the only difference is one goes to grand turk and one goes to st. Thomas. Any comments on the difference between the 2?

I found complaints about embarkation surprising. It only took me about 30 minutes to get through check in and customs for my june 25 sailing with rccl. There was a huge celebrity eclipse ship at the same time. I went at 11am. Customs i was lucky to get in a short line which for some reason a lot of people weren't using. It was a little confusing which line you were supposed to go into.

Does the princess cancel for any reason insurance also cover the ez air booking. What if you book your own airfare? My cruise consultant said they’d cover ez air but i want to check as sometimes they misinform.

It was packed in the evening when concert was offered. Nothing was stopping them from using space for something else during the day.

The space certainly wasn’t under utilized on ship i was on. It was packed.

Actually i did find a cruise with san juan, st thomas and puerta plata while not the greatest time. That may be the best itinerary for me.

Yes i think i’m having trouble pulling the trigger as i’d like to go to san juan. Its disappointing ncl has so many caribbean cruises with the same itinerary.

I heard of an american receive a 10% off promo code in the mail and wonder if any canadians received it. This may be too much to hope for on top of amex promo but just checking.

I still haven't pulled the trigger on the cruise and have one more question. Is there a quiet indoor place where you can read on the epic? I mean during the day.

I'm still hoping for a response here. I'm also concerned as i read one review of epic that there was no solo host on their cruise.

This is weird as a recent promo only has 100.00 obc. I wonder if it depends if you do princess plus?

Current promo lasts until sept 5th. I’m going to still wait and see if obc is included in next promo.

Seems like reviews really vary. Thanks for sharing. I had heard on princess board that people are unhappy with the removal of traditional dining . Has anyone else found they no longer give double obc but just for one person?

Thanks i could always skip dawes and go back to glacier bay in the spring since last time i went in the fall. It would be nice to go on a cruise with icy strait as well. We’ll see what others say. I believe sometimes the dawes glacier cruises are cheaper but i’m not sure.

I’ve been to glacier bay (first cruise) and hubbard glacier and tracy arm (second cruise), now i’d like to go to dawes glacier. I understand its not supposed to be as impressive so i thought if there is a small boat excursion that may be good. Has anyone been? What did you think of dawes glacier? Is it like Tracy Arm with an impressive entry?

Sorry to open an old thread. It looks like you can go to puerta plata from amber cove. Is that not worthwhile? I guess i'm more a historical person then beach goer and right now this is sounding like a beach cruise. I will check out amber cove topic as well.

I would go a day earlier on a saturday when the direct flight runs so unconcerned. For some reason the stop overs to miami and fort lauderdale look pretty bad. Anyways off topic here now. I think i’ll only consider ncl for a west coast flight like los angeles and not a east coast flight

I’m looking on sailing on norwegian epic and i’m wondering how quiet is where the studio cabins are on the epic. Also, someone mentioned there is no waterfront area on epic, is there another quiet area? I thought someone mentioned some sort of spice 2 o area not on other ships. Interested in your experience in general. For background for other solo cruisers there are some cheap cruises out of port caneveral right now.

Has royal caribbean had a wow sale recently? I don’t think i’ve seen one but i’m canadian and they may not have one for us.

I am thinking that if i requested to arrive a day before i wouldn’t be as likely to get a red eye. There is no guarantee though and i imagine it is likely as cheaper.
