  1. Came across this gem while processing my iPhone photos. NCL does NOT have an exclusive with the feet on furniture observation lounge crowd. Yuk!
  2. I'm beginning to think that crazy fellow passengers are a unique NCL phenomenon! I didn't have any fun encounters on MSC. Oh wait, I saw behavior so horrifying I ran away before any conversation was possible. Sorry to see/hear of the slip and tumble. I've been caught a few times myself doing the electric slide where a carpeted surface turns into a hard tile or ceramic surface such as in the buffet area. You never know (or feel) if the carpet has just been cleaned or coated with some sort of fluid. I see in your Starbucks photo that they actually use darker fabric on the chairs now to possibly hide some of the inevitable stains. I'm remember on the US inaugural sailing thinking all this light colored furniture is not going to age well!
  3. They usually run three 45-min shows a night. Seating times are 5:30, 7:30 and 9:30PM...
  4. Now that you mention it, it was over the top for a lot of the entertainment on the ship during my cruise. Some of the pool events had me running out of the general area ASAP.
  5. I have a feeling that large ship model was installed after our sailings. No way I could've missed this too!
  6. Look at post #132 of my thread here. The first few days until Port Canaveral should be identical.
  7. Confirmed, I just received the same email today and my account works again. I sent the email in on Monday I believe today and today is Friday. Definitely not a browser or cache / cookies issues. Something wacky with their back end settings...
  8. Back from my sailing now and the website is still saying wrong country for me. I was even showed onboard customer rep the same error on their machine and they had never seen it before, LOL. Will be sending an email now to "mscvoyagersclub@msccruisesusa.com" and see what happens.
  9. Most unique photo I took of this trip, aircraft carrier CVN-73 George Washington undergoing sea trials and landing aircraft next to us off the coast of Virginia. I don't think anyone even noticed on the top deck.
  10. I put them away just to have less clutter on the desk for cleaning. I was much more paranoid with leaving electronics out when I first started cruising but I've relaxed a bit now.
  11. Took a break from the photos to avoid burning out. Moved onto some videos of the trip. Here is the full Ocean Cay lightshow!
  12. NCL definitely provided a better experience overall for me all things being equal. The advantages of NCL for me are (in no particular order). 1. Flexible dining time options for the MDR and Taste/Savor 2. Variety of foods in the buffet and the overall quality of the foods offered Where MSC wins out for me is: 1. The fun atmosphere provided by the onboard entertainment, especially the energy in the nightly atrium party. 2. The streamline shows and entertaiment in the main theaters (for the attention span challenged, shows were 45 mins). As some of you may know, I like to sail out of NYC and right now MSC has very aggressive pricing along with constant sailings so you can grab something last minute. MSC will definitey be in contention for me in this area. On a side note, this sailing makes it 49 days at sea over 5 cruises in four years including the Covid pause. All of the Caribbean ports will now become repeats for me so I have to think very carefully about the experience on board and what it means to be. Up until now the destinations took precedence for me and I was happy to be on any ship heading that way.
  13. Well, I'm back in NYC now. I've managed to write down most of my thoughts and will continue to add photos during the week. I'd be happy to answer any NCL specific comparision questions on here or the thread over there... Thank you all for the encouraging comments here on this thread!
  14. Here are the daily activity sheets for the cruise. MSC-1-15-24-Daily.pdf
  15. During weekdays it seems to be at least once an hour if not more rapid. Weekends can stretch out to 90 mins. The phone app they use has all the details but for some reason I had problems nailing down some of the times.
  16. It’s possible that it was still being offered and I just didn’t know. After the morning service I just flicked on the do not disturb light and put out all my electronics again not expecting it to be disturbed.
  17. Hi. I did a few photos like this from my perch on Staten Island a few years ago when I was obsessed with ships. Nowadays there someone with a drone that gets amazing views of ships leaving NY harbor. I’ll include some links later when I’m on a computer. pete
  18. Once a day. Probably not physically possible to do 2x a day given 19 rooms. My cabin attendant was active from 9am until after 8pm most days.
  19. Thank you. The room stewards in my section were definitely on top of their game when it came to cleaning. My guy has been with MSC since 2010. He mentioned he was responsible for 19 cabins. Not sure if that is typical nowadays but maybe others can chime in.
  20. Very valid point, but I semi justifed it for being day 1 after a restock and there was still plenty left in the bowl and at other stations. I'm still trying to digest the behavior I saw later on and how to present it here in a just the facts fashion. It was so bad that I was standing there with a server and asking if this was "normal". The amount being taken was impossible to consume in one sitting but I think I figured out the reasoning when departing in NYC today. It was always drilled into me no fruits or any fresh food can taken off the boat or customs will get me in trouble. Basic common sense I thought. In Cozumel there were half a dozen garbage bags with food at the port exit where they had dogs sniffing all the bags. I'd figured this was a possiblity at the Brooklyn port as well. But, after immigration in Miami, we basically waltzed right out at NY without even a cursory check. In hindsight that makes sense, but it also provided a loophole for a ton of food taken off probably.
