  1. I didnt think about Havana. The back pool on Spirit class would make a good Havana pool and then use the rooms under it for the Havana cabins.
  2. unfortunately in order to keep the Spirit class in the fleet long term they will need to become more crowded in order to generate the revenue like the newer mega ships generate. I remember back when COVID started there was talk about how the Mardi Gras type ships break even about 1/3 capacity but Spirit/Fantasy class ships don't break even till over 50% capacity. So we would expect the Spirit class to be eventually "sunshined" AKA ruined. Say goodbye to the Deck 1 lounge so they can cram in more rooms. Say goodbye to the 3rd level of the main theater for even more rooms. Expect Cloud 9 spa rooms to be shoehorned in somewhere to generate more revenue. Also could see 1 of the 3 pools removed, since these ships have 3 pools and a waterworks. Not even the Mardi Gras has that much water.
  3. I would agree. of course that will ruin all that is great about the Spirit class, but there are a few places that they can shove more rooms into pretty easy.
  4. Spirit class. small ship, not crowded. has 3 big pools. has a pool in the serenity area. back pool is open to the ocean, not surrounded by glass or ship structure. Cost premium on a balcony room is small since it has so many balcony cabins.
  5. pretty sure it is just the first 3 life boats on each side, for Spirit Class, that are a bit taller than the rest.
  6. we book private tours through some of the well known private tour guides. very safe. we have been all over the island, and been way off the beaten path a few times, never had any issues.
  7. was really wanting connecting rooms, not balconies. Yes i was also surprised they let a person with 1 room book a connecting room.
  8. Looking at a pre-Thanksgiving cruise on Sunshine out of Charleston. Per the deck plans there are a grand total of 12 pairs of connecting balconies (24 rooms total). All of the connecting balconies are Spa rooms, no regular rooms. Of the 12 pairs only 2 pairs are double/double pairs. The other 10 are either double/triple or double/quad. Neither of the 2 double/double are fully available because 1 room in each pair are booked. But Carnival wont let me book a double/triple since we only have 4 people. Is there a chance of getting this if I push hard enough or should I just change my booking and add a 3rd person for $109 and then no show them the day of the cruise?
  9. My "Plan now Save later" rate is still better since it comes with $500 OBC, but this special drops the price for my needed 2nd and 3rd rooms. So I guess I will pull the trigger on a pre-Thanksgiving cruise I have been eyeing. Might even jump from an OV to Balcony.
  10. thanks it appears it is a trundle bed for those rooms
  11. yeah I saw those but I am not getting those as options. I am only getting options on Deck 7. I am using the same deck plan as you.
  12. looking at Sunshine out of Charleston. Cruising with 2 adults and 2 kids, so we are looking at Suites. Carnival.com is giving me option of Ocean Suite and Grand Suite for 4 people. Looking at cruise deck plans .com it is showing Grand Suites with 4 people with a double sofa bed. Looking at deck plans for Ocean Suite is only showing a single sofa bed. so do they bring in a roll away bed for the 4th person? And if they do have roll away beds could I request a roll away even for the Grand Suite so each kid can have their own bed and not have to share?
  13. well this is a bunch of BS. Track builders today are installing 15A breakers, to match the 14 gauge wire they are running in the walls, that then attach to a 15A outlet. Builders are not installing 20A breakers or 12 gauge wire in houses to save money, unless you pay extra for that. Now if you see a 15A outlet wired to a 20A breaker, most likely that is because the original 20A outlet went bad and the moron homeowner installed at 15A outlet to save $1.50 at Home Depot. 15A outlet --> 14 gauge wire --> 20A outlet = Bad 15A outlet --> 12 gauge wire --> 20A outlet = Bad 20A outlet --> 14 gauge wire --> 15A outlet = OK 20A outlet --> 12 gauge wire --> 15A outlet = OK 20A outlet --> 12 gauge wire --> 20A outlet = GOOD 15A outlet --> 14 gauge wire --> 15A outlet = GOOD
  14. ah the old Delta vs Wye power. I work for the Navy and it amazes me how many people I work with have no idea as to the difference between the two.
