  1. You might want to post at the following link, as it might be your roll call.
  2. We did the West Indies to Spain in March. It was very nice. As CCWinelover said above there were no "pool parties". There was a "dancing under the stars" evening. On our cruise that was just watching the entertainers dance under the stars rather than us dancing under the stars - lol. But from other posts I've read, that could have been an anomaly.
  3. That's good that you were able to use AirTags. We called Luggage Forward to organize pickup for our cruise last May. They said that AirTags would be removed out of our luggage which had to be unlocked because it was going between two countries. Given that, we decided not to use Luggage Forward because we have read some posts about luggage being lost with no way of personally tracking it or items going missing. We lucked out because we were in Barcelona in March after a trans Atlantic with Viking and we were again in Barcelona to start our Med cruises in May. Our Barcelona hotel, GranVia, were happy to keep our luggage for 7 weeks. During that time, it was fun to see the connections to our AirTags. I think most people use Luggage Forward with success, but I don't think it's for us.
  4. Yes he certainly does! In DH’s case, it was his actual birthday and I had no idea they were going to do something. In my case they transposed my birthdate numbers (or possibly our steward wanted another cake to share with his coworkers 😊)
  5. So another example of Upgraded Silliness?
  6. You're right, it doesn't "sound like an included excursion", but the point is that she has a reservation confirmation for an included excursion as per the photo above.
  7. Given our experience on Viking, I wouldn't worry about this too much. You have your booking for one and I think you will get the other one booked once onboard. I can't even count the number of times we've visited Guest Services and have cancelled an included excursion booking. Guest Services reps on Viking are very helpful. If this isn't sorted before you board -- keep looking on MVJ for a cancellation -- I hope you will come back here in November and tell us how this turned out for you and your DH.
  8. Agreed. We've seen a lot of this too. E.g., a couple face timing their adult child and giving them a tour around the sitting area that we are in and we are apparently included. It's very annoying.
  9. I agree with everything you said -- especially about colour treated hair -- but the conditioner, not so much. Great discussion. 🙂
  10. On our last cruise it was 2 separate bottles, but many people don't like their product. I always bring my own.
  11. Yes, but you can't book that ahead of time. I always book a 50 or 80 minute massage and then change it to nails once onboard.
  12. We talked to two of the TAs and that is exactly what they did. They bought up a block of cabins. I really wanted to ask if they sold them at a profit, but I didn't really want to know the answer. Interestingly, the GM sought us out on the last evening of our first cruise to tell us that our cruise was about to get a lot different and that is exactly what happened. It was fun though.🙂
  13. On the second half of our b2b, that is exactly what they did. The TAs were able to get together large groups to fill those cabins. Most of them were under 30 years old. In fact (thread drift alert) the bartenders told us there was a large staff meeting before they embarked and the staff were told that they were not allowed to serve some of them. But, if a person older than 21 ordered a drink for them, then they had to serve it.
  14. I always download movies on my Mac and my iPad from Netflix and Crave. This year we did a Trans Atlantic with many sea days and we also did a 3 week back to back. I didn't watch any of the movies. As Jim says, I was too busy smelling the sea air. 🙂
  15. I'm so glad you enjoyed Sydney. That's just one of the great things above Nova Scotia -- it's hard to find anything that's not made in Nova Scotia 🙂 On our cruise in May/June there was a guitarist in the Explorer's Lounge whose name was John. He played the guitar and his accompaniment was his iPad playing many different instruments. Most people enjoyed it. DH and I felt "what's the point". But the cellist and the piano player in the Living Room were really amazing and made up for what we felt was a lack of entertainment in the EL. Great to hear from you and please keep your photos and posts coming. Enjoy!
  16. There are certain prohibited items you can bring and they will hold them for you until you disembark. On one cruise, we brought on a surge protector that we had been using for a land trip and they kindly stored it for us during the cruise.
  17. It would be great if AC had the nonstop to SJ when we are flying in January 2024, but alas no -- unless they add it back in now that we've booked AA.🙄 We flew a lot with Jet Blue when we had a place in Florida. We really like Jet Blue.
  18. Yummy. We had a fruit-topped one for DH's birthday on our last cruise and another for my birthday on the same cruise -- for that one they were out by a couple of months lol. Yes, very good and we shared both with the housekeeping staff and they thought it was quite a treat!
  19. From Toronto we used to be able to get to San Juan nonstop with Air Canada and Air Transat. Now, we have to stop in Miami. We like Miami so we have no problem overnighting there and then flying to SJ. I think Air Transat might have a nonstop from Montreal once or twice a week.
  20. Thank you for the very nice photos of Halifax. We are vacationing several kms. south of you and after 3 weeks of on and off rainy weather, today was a gorgeous day. I'm glad you got to enjoy it too.
  21. We are trying to repair our reputation? 🍷🍺🥂😇 Liquor outlets and bars must be closed while in port. Under no circumstances should liquor be given or sold to visiting Canadian residents, shore personnel, or stevedoring personnel while the ship is in port. ....... The CBSA will conduct spot checks to ensure compliance and this privilege will be revoked if any bar is open without permission or if any Canadian resident visitor, shore personnel, or stevedoring personnel is served in a bar. In addition, monetary penalties may be assessed to the cruise line. https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/cscp-pdnc-eng.html
  22. I'm sorry to read this. We will definitely be keeping an eye on the situation. I'm thinking "e-visa", but I'm just concerned how long that will take.
  23. Beautiful! And a very nice time of day for a sail away. Thanks for posting the photos.
