  1. I have not, but I did ask on a thread that was created for that sailing. Never hurts to try! Thanks for the idea.
  2. You said instead of calling, which I emailed and yes that address. However, more importantly, the eye roll wasn't for you, it was for RCCL. My apologies if you misinterpreted that. (In my original post I gave the eye roll to them ... that was the hence part. Looking back, it didn't read that way and looked directed at you which was never my intention. I am sorry about that.) I am just dumbfounded they couldn't give out his name when it was easily accessible before. RCCL absolutely deserves my eye roll. 😉 *edited for clarification
  3. Re-read my post, I did email them. That is why it took me a week to get a response that was, "sorry, we can't give out employee names." Hence my eye roll 🙄-- it does the comedian no favors to not be able to promote his work. Not Gary. Thank you for trying to help! 🙂 Sadly, not Phil. Thank you for trying to help! 🙂 FYI, I asked on another thread that specifically talked about this cruise. No name discovered as of yet but here is an another clue someone added, he has the old hippie type of vibe. Slight scraggily gray hair, clothes are fine just a tad disheveled. Fits his persona to a tee!
  4. Yes!! Exactly, old hippie. He was entertaining. Such a bummer we can't remember his name.
  5. Just looked him up, no. Too young. But thanks for trying! 😊
  6. Sailed the 8 night Odyssey on 30Mar. On the last night there was an adult comedy show in the main theater at 10pm. My husband and I got a kick out of the comedian and would like to see if he has anything online or if he does shows on land. Only problem ... we cannot remember his name! 🤦‍♀️ Before you say, contact RCCL, we already did. Emailed the night we arrived home. Finally heard back today, only to be told they cannot give out names of employees. 🙄 So, anyone on that cruise know the comedian's name who performed on the last night? If not on that cruise, you still may have had him on one of your RCCL cruises before. Gentleman in his mid 60's, he opened up for a quite a few rock and roll acts back in the day. He talks about marriage (married twice), getting older, and family. I know he really likes RCCL, he spoke highly of them. For the life of us we tried Google and YouTube and have come up empty. Never hurts to try and see if someone may know who this mystery comedian is.
  7. I was on this sailing as well. Any chance you can remember the name of the comedian that was on Night 8 and did the adult comedy at 10pm in the theater? I emailed RCCL when we got home and just had a response today saying they cannot tell me for "privacy reasons." 🙄 So his name and picture can be all over the ship but if I ask afterwards it is not allowed. Feel bad for the comedian, can't spread word of mouth or go see him again without knowing his name. 🤦‍♀️
  8. I’m not super tech savvy, so I need verification to make sure I’m out of luck. Have iPhone. Husband and I had nightly ritual on last Celebrity cruise to grab a slice of pizza and a beer and head to room to stream Big Bang, Seinfeld, or Friends before bed. Easily accessible from iPhone to TV with no issues. Simple! Attempted to do this last night on Odyssey. Went to iPhone doing exactly as described on TV: login address, entered 4 digit code, all was set … BUT it’s Chromecast. TV not recognized on my iPhone. Tried hitting AirPlay, nothing. Is there a way I can mirror my iPhone apps to TV? I tried searching last night to find something to allow compatibility, but all I saw only allow pictures, music, or YouTube. No apps such as Max, or Netflix. What a bummer if RCCL left iPhone users without mirroring capabilities.
  9. You are correct. I didn’t scroll as I am not interested in lunch, only dinners. But don’t want to cause confusion. Oops. We have the 3 night dining and that will be used for Giovanni’s, Chops, and Wonderland. Izumi was booked separately as it has an up charge with 3 night plan. With our teen, breakfast and dinner are the meals we have as a family. Mid day on sea days (when we’d book lunch) she’s gone off with friends and the last thing we want to do pull her away for a “forced” lunch. As a typical teen can do, if she’s miserable it can suck the life out of a good time. I could always book a lunch just for the two of us, but since I have the 3 night package I feel it could be a little too much.
  10. I saved $152. Big savings was with VOOM and Refreshment Package for my daughter. VOOM $80 savings! Refreshment was $57. The other was a slightly cheaper excursion, but only little bit. Discounts for Coco Cay were maxed at 15% off. Dining still at 10% (I did better with Halloween sale at 20%). Unlimited Beverage said 30% off, but it was more than what I paid for 30% off for Halloween sale. So they upped the priced. Glad I got in when I did. Of course I will keep watching, Takes a few minutes to check and worth it to me. 🙂
  11. That's the thing I find perplexing. Miami provides no clarity because some ships do the turndown, while others refuse. It is a free for all depending upon who is in charge of the ship.
  12. You definitely have a point, but honestly it seems ridiculous staterooms using a couch or pullman have to go an entire cruise having to dismantle or make the bed by the guests themselves. As PP said, they are getting tips for 3 people, not 2. I am not asking for a huge extra. If my stateroom attendant refuses, then I will politely go up the chain and use that message as having inquired about it before sailing. It may very well mean nothing, but I put my effort in to find out beforehand. They should honor what was stated. Whether they will or not remains to be seen. But yes, I will be very irritated if I have to dismantle the bed every day. I only wish I could be in a suite, but they were already sold out before I booked this trip.
  13. After all this back and forth about yes they will, no they won't I went to RCCL Twitter (or X) and messaged them. Their response: So now I have it from RCCL representative that it should be included.
  14. That is really disappointing to hear. I am not asking for a complete service of room, just service the bed for the evening. Sounds like it is a crap shoot, depends upon ship and your room steward. We are simple, don't ask for any extras but I guess having a couch being a couch in the daytime and having it a bed in the evening so too much. 😫
  15. I wish I could. All suites are sold out for our trip. 😞
  16. We are X diehards but their itineraries didn't work for our spring break so we ventured back to our roots with RCCL. Will be on the Odyssey, family of 3. Question: with RCCL only doing 1 cabin cleaning per day are we always stuck with the couch as a bed? That really cramps our style as we are used to having the couch in the daytime and a bed made in the evening for turndown service. Feels so cluttered with it as a bed in the daytime. But I don't want to have to make up the bed each night either. I can understand not servicing everything 2 times a day but making beds for 3rd and 4th passenger doesn't seem like an insurmountable task. 🤷‍♀️ So if you had a 3rd person in your room with the new service what did you do?
  17. Looking at an ATV tour in Curacao. There are plenty to chose from and you will read the good, the bad, and the ugly with every one on Viator and TripAdvisor. So, I am looking on here to see if anyone had a good or bad experience with a company and why so I can decide on which one to take. Right now the two I am eyeing are Eric's ATV Adventure and ATV Buggy Tours. Also, what tour did you take? They have a lot of different adventures and I am leaning towards the West Tour (no swimming) but definitely open to suggestions. Thanks!

    EZ Raider Tour

Has anyone done the EZ Raider Tour in Aruba? I have looked on Viator and Trip Advisor and read some nice reviews, but would love to get feedback from here on this excursion. Looking at North Coast & Countryside Ultimate Experience which I can only find on their direct website. Not sure if I should stick to North Coast only. We likely will not go in water, so unsure if a better tour (North Coast or Countryside only) would be a better fit for us.
  19. So subjective. One persons enjoyment is another persons dissatisfaction. Personally, I prefer Luminae on S class ships. Within the last year we have been on Equinox, Beyond, and soon to be Apex. BREAKDOWN: Service: equal on both ships. Superb! Ambiance: S class, hands down. You never had to wait to be seated. The dining room was warm, inviting, and quiet. (E class wasn't horrific by any means, but the dining room decor feels very 90's new age and cold; we always had to wait to be seated; and, the room had no dividing spaces so it was loud.) Food: near equal. There were dishes I didn't care for on both ships, however it is never an issue to change it out for something different. I will give a slight edge to S class because I miss the Huevos Rancheros on E class. (yes I know they are no where near authentic, but I loved that dish all the same) Portion Size: never an issue on either ship. I always left full. And for the life of me I cannot recall what dish my daughter and fell in love with, but we wanted to share another one and it was so easy ... ask and you shall receive! But I never felt like I had a postage stamp of a protein. 🤷‍♀️
  20. Celebrity Equinox has the X Club for teens as well as the basketball court. Not to mention silent disco, ping pong, shuffleboard, putting green, bocce ball, game room, and the pool/hot tub. Teens actually can have a really good time on Equinox. Read my post above, my daughter was with a large group and they even went to the trivia games onboard in the Sky Lounge. They didn't mind that it was geared for their parents, they still had a blast! You went on a 10 day during the school year. Longer than 7 days and when school is in session is going to have far fewer kids/teens. In that situation, yes it would be harder to find peers to pal around with. OP said they are going during the summer holiday over 4th of July and Equinox is on a 6 night Caribbean then. There will be a lot more than 5 teens.
  21. We went on the Equinox last summer (mid to late June) and that sailing had a good size group of teens, I believe 120-150. My daughter (then 14) had no problem meeting other teens. There was a good group of younger and older teens. Naturally, she palled around with 13-15 age group, but sometimes a large group with the older kids (some siblings of younger my daughter was with) would gather in Sky Lounge. For reference that was a 6 night cruise out of Ft Lauderdale with stops to Key West, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman. Just got off of Beyond over daughter’s spring break (April 9-16) they had 100 teens onboard. The previous cruise, 400. My daughter, now 15, hung out with 14-17 year olds. Even though this sailing had a smaller amount of teens, the kids all really connected and had fun. I think with summer and holiday week (parents needing less vacation days since they may already have 4th off) your son will likely not have a problem finding teens to connect with. And my daughter is like your son, doesn’t need all the bells and whistles of a RCL ship. She likes them, but prefers just chilling out with other kids playing ping pong, cards, or hanging out at pool and Oceanview Cafe.
  22. I don't know of any, but like PP's have stated booking a transoceanic, 10+ day, and during school season cruise and you won't see many. X will have kids, but not like bigger cruise lines. No doubt you're going to see kids during spring break, summer, and winter break. But if you book the longer cruises during the spring/winter breaks that will diminish how many kids onboard. I have been cruising with X since 2002, and I don't believe I ever was annoyed with kids on board.I cannot say that about Royal Caribbean, NCL, and of course Disney. But you know you. I can say they don't bother me, but Murphy's Law if you booked on X your room will be adjacent to kids. Maybe consider Azamara, Seabourn, or Regent Seven Seas?
