  1. I was going to ask, what on earth is that ship doing on the bridge?
  2. Yes of course. But somebody in the dining room not dressed to someone else's overblown expectations, surely isnt a reason to be annoyed.
  3. Thats appalling and I would hope other passnegrs would come to the crews defence. I know I would. Actually did this on celebrity beyond last year when a couple moaned about the waiter in the cosmopolitan restaurant, and tried to get us to back them up. They were shocked when they got our response. Lets just say, our waiter smiled.
  4. Not me. I am the exact opposite. But if I go somewhere for a land holiday I try to stay in a nice hotel too. The ship is massively important to me as we spend so long on board. And I seek out my favourite bar. And which cocktails I will over-indulge in to make sure I get my premium drinks package monies worth. Ah the joys of vacations.
  5. I can't believe for a second that any cruise line would allow smoking inside any more. Are some of them still in the 1970s?
  6. But are we talking laws, or rules? Some rules are too stupid to follow. As are some laws funnily enough.
  7. Alternatively there are many people who dont know every rule, and see some insignificant behaviour as normal. and so are not following suit, like a lemming, just behaving in a way they always have. Like at work, I see processes and procedures as a guide, not a rule book. (Not talking health and safety here for the pedants) Processess and procedures if followed to the letter, make any chance of lateral thinking impossible. Are these the sort of rules you are talking about?
  8. Nobody calls me a passenger. I am a V.I.P. PS. I only posted the above from another thread. Wasnt being serious.
  9. This. Some must go on cruises not to enjoy a holiday, but to police their fellow cruisers (not passengers as we are not on a ferry). Imagine that being your reason for being.
  10. those are so much better than the real ones.
  11. Not wishing to be a pedant(again) but, when it comes to cruising are we actually passengers? We would be on a bus going from A to B, or a taxi or a Ferry, but not on a cruise, surely? The word passenger isnt special enough.😁
  12. I actually didnt know. But was too scared to ask. So at least the OP has educated me.
  13. Sorry if I am misunderstanding here but are you saying you can he forced to do jury service and it may and probably will cost you money, or at least your vacation time? How can that be? How can doing your "civic duty" as some on here claim, actually put you out of pocket, or vacation time? And surely most people have a career, and how will that remain if you are on a very long case? Apologies I have misunderstood here.
  14. only ever been tempted to try one music cruise and that was last years Salty Dog Cruise, November 2023. Couldnt make the dates work with starting a new job that same week. Had reserved one of the last cabins for about 24 hours. Missed 4 of my favourite bands sadly. Next one is early 2025 but I could be at the wrong time for me again.
  15. I didn't even know what it meant till ypu posted this. So thanks.
  16. It must be my British humour. I wasnt being serious with the post. Hence the comment about the wife. So did understand your post. It was fine.
  17. I doubt they would want to talk to me. I wouldn't. Never been described as rich before mind. Don't tell the wife.
  18. Wow. So those at the top are more worthy eh?
  19. It doesn't bother me that some get paid more than others, as long as those at the bottom are paid well. When it comes to eating though, in my world we are all equal. So if only the officers are ENTITLED then maybe they should pay for their meals out of their higher salaries. The workers song has never been more apt. And I would be far more interested in chatting to the person that cleans my room than the captain.
  20. I am starting to think I don't belong in the cruise world. If its OK for the bosses surely its OK for the workers.
  21. This. Are officers more worthy in the eyes of the corporations?
  22. Although missing a holiday for this seems extreme. Especially as most have said it can just be moved. So why would an insurer cover you for this?
