  1. I have similar issues, @Peregrina651, but I don’t notice any scent on Viking’s laundry detergent. I don’t mind the Freya shampoo/conditioner, but always bring my own, using Freya if I run out, or on disembarkation day when my cosmetics have been transported dockside in my luggage. My issues are not skin related, but chemical sensitivity due to “migraine brain.” 🤕
  2. We don’t need to apply til October 2024, but I’ve been following CC posts about current experiences. I saved these links with lots of tips: Brazil Visa https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66552485 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66556981 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66562328 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66569859 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66589885 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66589918 Important: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66596839
  3. I don’t know why there are no Homelands itineraries on the Sky for the fall, but FWIW the ship repositions to the Meddy in Sept. for the 15 day Trade Routes itinerary.
  4. The Daily will have the “official” times, but practice sometimes differs, as mentioned.
  5. Also for the pool grill. And they are loosely goosey on the time depending on what is going on that day. E.g., on our Norway/Svalbard/Iceland cruise in July, our last day in Iceland had morning excursions that came back well after lunch. Pool grill was still serving up beer and wine to folks who were having lunch at 3 pm.
  6. And if you don’t cancel but just transfer your down payment to another cruise, your insurance should transfer too.
  7. Yes, yes & yes in answer to your questions. Give Steve a call—no charge for good advice tailored to your needs.
  8. Interesting…you were on Saturn in May (?) and we in July. Maybe some of those counterclockwise Neanderthals stole the signs! 😎🫣
  9. Kent, I noticed when we were on the “new” Saturn in July that there were no signs up on the promenade deck requesting that people walk clockwise—so of course there were lots of folks going against the grain. 🧌
  10. Your options are gin, rum, whisky, vodka. Other than for World Cruisers, have not heard of anyone successfully getting liqueurs included.
  11. I seem to recall you were on a TA that missed Madeira? Ours missed it too and we got nada!
  12. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, though. People have reported on CC that they have received $$$ for missed ports just by complaining to Viking.
  13. Verity was doing fill-in when we were on the Saturn in July. I don’t think she’ll be doing regular stints since she got a job in corporate HQ in Switzerland. (Quite the trek—commuting from Mississippi to Basel!)
  14. Orion and then Jupiter after Sun, I believe. And wasn’t the “Asian” bar a pasta bar to start? That’s the one I miss. I’m not an Asian menu fan for the most part.
  15. Hi Kent, Hope you’re having a great voyage! Sure wish Viking would give out awards for the most VO cruises because I believe you are closing in on a score (20) soon!? I’ll send you an email about our favorite tables—but it has been revealed by others on here before, too. 😉
  16. Well, there’s always room service! 😎
  17. Looking at your comment again—I think you’ve misunderstood me. As quiet people who don’t always like to socialize, we’ve never found a problem in any seating venue on Viking. Always able to get a private table—and occasionally we have a nice conversation with people nearby.
  18. Not sure what your objection is. Certainly just trying to answer the concern that there is not privacy in eating venues—we have never experienced it as an issue. Others may not know about the variety of options.
  19. It’s only an issue for some people. It’s never been an issue for us. There are private enough two tops in all venues—and when close to others you can either request another table or make it clear you’re not interested in conversation. Like I said—never been an issue for us.
  20. It’s usually a French brand (LOL—champagne) but brands can vary.
  21. Yowza! Nobody wants to use “minimal bandwidth”! Viking needs to up their game in regards to internet access because it was the worst we’d ever experienced on a Viking ship on our cruise on the Saturn last July. I surely hope they have it figured out by charging more for adequate access because the way it is now, those of us who only want internet for online reading—not streaming or zooming or FaceTiming—have lousy access. It doesn’t sound like those who want to chew up bandwidth will cut back just because they have to pay.
  22. I forgot about our trip to Chile in Feb/Mar 2000. I don’t remember any bugs—and DH is a mosquito magnet. 🦟 We always bring bug juice but never seem to use it.
  23. No problems with insects on our SA cruise in March 2020–(just another kind of “bug” if you get my drift).
