  1. LOL. 🙀. Not big drinkers so we usually bring a big stash home with us (from six VO cruises). DH is just finishing up the gin from one of our last cruises. And we always leave room in our luggage for the bottle of champagne.
  2. Can’t help you with the Viking verbiage, but I’d agree with Azulann and presume you will get an actual tour of the Blue Mosque. We did a DIY trip to Istanbul many moons ago (decades, actually) and did not buy carpets because too intimidated by the rug dealers in the bazaar. On another DIY trip in Morocco a few years before, however, we went to a government-run/regulated rug demonstration where they gave us fair prices and we didn’t have to haggle. Bought three rugs which adorn our floors to this day—nearly 40 years later! So if it were me and I was interested in getting a “Turkey” carpet, I’d check it out. Personally not into the very high-pressured sales tactics in the bazaars!
  3. I found this in a Google search—not good if you want to sleep!

    Brazil visa

Sounds like they are going to have to get this ironed out for cruisers. Pretty ridiculous! 🤦‍♀️ I’m following this because we’re doing the TA in Oct. from BCN to BA, with those stops in Brazil.🫠

Bank statements? Why do they want bank statements? Are you moving there????
  6. Interesting. The Sun was transferred to China a couple of years ago. Perhaps you are on another ship?
  7. I just tell them at the MDR check-in that we’re anti-social and would like a quiet table. LOL. 😎
  8. But only if you are arriving day of embarkation or flying out on day of disembarkation. Don’t get your hopes up that you can do so outside of those days.
  9. Go to MyVikingJourney.com, create an account, log in, input your booking number for the cruise, click on “manage my air” and then “transfer request form.”
  10. If U.S. $$ is the currency you have, the crew/staff are more than happy to accept it. We have tipped in various currencies in various parts of the world where the cruise is. Most of the crew are from countries other than where the cruise is. On one cruise, our stewards told us the crew exchanged currencies with each other from the tips depending on who can use which currencies. So that’s why. 😎
  11. On our trip where DH (above) got tipsy at 11,000 feet in Cusco while eating cuy, we had just been downtown during the Solstice festival & parade. The parade was packed with people streaming along behind religious icons being carried high above their heads—and bands playing noisily. Afterwards, the festival got going with several city blocks set up with tents for local families and their food. On display outside each tent were enormous bushels of roasted cuy piled high. Not surprised that it was the meal of choice since the nearby cathedral has a giant painting inside of the Last Supper with a roast cuy in front of Jesus!
  12. Looks like you are on a segment of this roll call But you can always start your own just for the part you’re on. You have posted in the main Viking Ocean boards, not the roll call. Have a great trip!
  13. Yes you are. Viking’s is called the Daily.
  14. I have never seen that—maybe on FB? But I have seen on CC pax report that Viking does not have Paxlovid. Worth an email to TellUs to see if they know….?
  15. I agree with Michelle & have seen others confirm that Viking does not offer or carry Paxlovid onboard. We have tried to get our docs (Kaiser) to give us a prescription to bring Paxlovid with us on international travel and they have said Kaiser won’t let them. I’m going to ask again when I consult with the travel nurse for our Jan. Egypt cruise and see if they will allow it. I don’t know if any insurance would cover the cost if you don’t already have coverage through your own insurance.
  16. There’s a very limited room service menu. I had to use it in 2019 when quarantined for Uncle Ho’s Revenge in SE Asia. Did not have availability to order from the MDR—I don’t know if that’s changed now but I doubt it since there’s a room service menu in your stateroom. For breakfast ordering they have you fill out a long form & hang on your door before 10 or 11 pm with the time you want it delivered.
  17. Not our experience with T-Mobile in most regions of the world.
  18. Get T-Mobile instead—you won’t have all these international calling problems.
  19. Actually, I remember now why we never get peanuts! Because I tell them to take them away! 🤦‍♀️
  20. It’s not peanuts—it’s almonds/cranberries/raisins.
  21. Ditto. Happened to us that way too both times. But now we just book a PV because we prefer them. On our SE Asia cruise in 2019, one couple from our travel mates on an independent excursion was “bumped” into an ES from a PV at check-in—no charge I believe.
  22. Take @Peregrina651’s advice and email tellus@vikingcruises.com for an upper level guest services answer.
