  1. Thanks for the kind words. I believe you are correct on the itinerary. SO far, we are having great time. Will be posting more from yesterday with pics. Woke this morning very foggy and ship horn.
  2. The people we saw and I tried to ask, did not speak fluent english and the communication issue and timing prevented further dialogue.
  3. We booked it online thru a traveler broker before flying. In cities we are not familiar with, we usually do this due to the lack of familiarity with the airport and city. Normally we uver where we can.
  4. Thanks, the brown areas in the channel area are extreme. Nice pic. For those who do not know, BA is the sprawling gray area bottom right in the pic. Huge city, especially compared with the rest of the region.
  5. There were several discussions today with some speakers that were very well done. The first was froma fellow named Jacob Marvin who talked about exploring the lives of those who inhabit the southern most extreme of the South Americas. The second was in the afternoon by a guy named Steven Dobbs on what to expect on a scenic cruise to the Antartica Peninsula Discussed were the Drake passage, ice, weather, spotting and identifying wildlife, and helpful tips. Both interesting and engaging.
  6. We are early risers, ship was very quiet when we got up. No walking this AM. Island cafe really quiet. Talk this AM on Antartica at nine in main theater.
  7. Interesting cruising away from the port in BA. Reminds me of the Chesapeake Bay leaving Baltimore. Extremely long. Sometime around 11 last night passed a ship fairly close going opposite direction, again reminding me of marine traffic near the bay bridge tunnel.
  8. Thanks for following along on the journey. I found the mix of old and new (relatively speaking) of the architechture of the city to be facinating. We def miss stepped by not coming down earlier (going to the falls as well, which at least would add another couple days.
  9. From thr looks of those entering I would say it could be done. Realyy not clear to me. I am not familiar with the port. The area we saw that was under construction is NOT going to be finishded any time soon (my guess). Having two ships absulteyl made the process more difficult. That said, there are a ton of logisitical things even with one ship. It would be interesting to understand how they did it before the storm.
  10. I heard that there was and that some got emails the night before to come early. Third hand knowledge.
  11. We are staying in Aqua class. Floor 11. Dining in Blue. Dinner was great. Sorry no pics. Phone died. More tomorrow.
  12. Once we got thru this we got into bus to take us to embark and check in port. Maybe 5 miles, worst part was it was not far from hotel. Even worse, some people were coming in off street with bags. Wish we had known this. Another line and up the stairs for check in and then across and down more stairs for the bus to ship. And of drama
  13. It was not a good start. Let me first say that the staff on hand was doing everything on there power to get everyone thru to next stage.
  14. Because of the two cruises (my guess) there was zero place to sit. Stayed in queue from 11:50 till we got called around 1:20. Here are some pics.
