  1. I am not an engineer, perhaps our local expert can opine. I cannot even say the repetitive problems are linked or not (other than they are propulsion related). Do they want the ship in service? absolutely. Do they want to do that at the expense of the longevity of the repair (band aid it)? Not a chance. I have been on a Carnival ship that had significant propulsion problems (Azipod related). The information we got while on the ship regarding the issue and fix, gave me distinct impressions that they (Carnival) relied heavily on the engine manufacturer for advice and counsel. Would I sail the Vista after this? In a New York minute.
  2. Do not have a dog in this fight. My point is they DID address it. The follow the lead of the engine manufacturer. They dry docked the ship to have it addressed. If it bothers you then do not book the ship or the class or Carnival. Here is another view. I LOVE the Vista class, sailed all of them ( even the evil Vista a couple of times). I have 3 booked and will continue to sail this class intil they stop sailing. For the record, it has absolutely nothing to do with Azipods. It is easy to cherry pick reoccurring ship issues after the fact, much harder when it is live.
  3. So…another way to look at is once a year…but only for the first year….right?🤣
  4. Some people think they know than the manufacture company also. Those people are called….posters on CC.
  5. The ship has had issues, of that there is no doubt; My point in my post was that it has not been broken for 5 years.
  6. I cannot really remember, was not cheap, but not off the charts. As I remember when I was looking at it, there were two real issues (other than the number of days. The first was the cost of flights tog et home. The second and even bigger one was, hell hey we are half way around the world, I want to stay and do more since I would already be there.
  7. It was, but sold out pretty darn quick. Think my better half threw the remote at me when she saw the hold I had put on an aft wrap.....
  8. Best be careful, thinking of everyone instead of the client can be very unpopular.😄
  9. Gee, I was not aware it was faulty for five years. 🤔
  10. I have been more than pleased with the speed of the premium plan.
  11. Was not all that long ago, this would have only appeared as an April Fools post. Would be a super interesting cruise to be on, not for the feint of heart for those not interested in sea days. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/08/carnival-panorama-sets-sail-on-18-night-cruise-to-japan/
  12. We did not use our 25th or 50th on that cruise, but rather saved it for a more expensive cruise, to get the bigger value of the OBC. Just a thought,
  13. Oh….BTW, if you looking for advice on go or not go, I say do it.
  14. Carnival cruising in Europe used to relegated to a new ship being delivered (timing aligning with the delivery). For cruisers like us who would prefer to venture out of the safety zone into something different like European sailings, having a Carnival ship be available was a significant add to the option list of doing a European cruise (our first Med cruise was on the liberty during her inaugural season). Then Carnival responded to their clientele wishes and started sending a ship over for a season. While they have expanded, they are not a leader in those kind of exotic itineraries, nor try to be that. As you mention, it is not easy to get slots in some, let’s say more dynamic exotic ports. As a result, you do what you can when you can. As you also mention, cruising in Europe, specifically in the Med, is at an all time high. Some ports, specifically Portugal and Spain are doing some barking at large ships regularly making many stops in their ports. Even more so, some countries over there are really cranking down on cruising trying to be as carbon neutral or green. The two most significant are Greek islands and to the north Norway which was on our short list (may not be able to do that now, and if so, prob NOT on a Carnival ship). For us, we will take a less exciting port to stay in the comfort zone of a red funnel ship, but on occasion stray outside the fold (like we did on our Celebrity Antartica cruise, and possibly on HAL on a more exotic adventure with them. All this said, my post was really asking what the poster really wanted, and whether it was realistic.
  15. Even more importantly, it offers way more than what Bimini can offer.
  16. We were there on the MG shortly after cruising opened after covid. There was not a ton of things to do.
  17. Carnival drops Bimini for Carnival Spirit https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/08/bimini-dropped-off-carnival-spirits-2025-26-itineraries/
  18. and what exactly were you expecting?
