  1. Emeril is a great addition with his restaurant and also his menu adds. Home Run, go for beignets
  2. Please let us know your thoughts when you return.
  3. It is a unique area to sail from, that is for sure. Good luck on the Greenland trip, hope it goes WAY better than we got to experience.
  4. The four Spirit class ships, Elation and Paradise, and the two P&O ships.
  5. Not sure about the Bridge height requirements, but assuming the same as Baltimore, I can think of potentially 4 other ships. They can move ships all the time from homeport to homeport. For the record, Luminosa was be a GREAT fit. All that said, I have no idea, just that additional homeports for into their model well.
  6. Baltimore is year round, and while New York is this year, it will not be next year. That said, proximity (I think) to the airport would be a plus. In terms of other close homeports, CCL has Charleston, Norfolk Jacksonville and Mobile. It is not necessarily about distance. All of this said, I have absolutely no idea what the terminal is like.
  7. Interesting news. Wonder of Carnival considered Philly as a homeport? Not sure of the logistics and ports of calls. Thoughts? https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/07/norwegian-cruise-line-announces-philadelphia-as-a-new-homeport/
  8. It is very close. I would not hesitate doing it. In fact,w e have stayed in the QM pre cruise twice.
  9. It is head scratching material but people are creatures of habit.
  10. Limited availability and high demand. When there is basically one ship, prices will be higher.
  11. I would not take the bet to the bank. Of course it all depends on how you define revenue, but Galveston is the king of homeports for Carnival. PC might challenge some day, Miami’s days are gone.
  12. Love to hear more about it. Trying to get better half interested and she is sticking tough on cold weather cruising bucket list items are done for a while. Hope you will do review.
  13. Her site changed dramatically since the debacle on this cruise. A LOT more restrictions (including the CC items posted above).
  14. They do dry dock every 4 to 5 years, if it is wear and tear items, it should be replaced. The MG is due in a little over a year for a dry dock. Drop an item from the OCD list.😱
  15. On newer ships ie Vista and Excel class ships, there is a supplemental AC. This provides primary AC for the unit. This complements The entire ship AC. For those interested, I track cabin temps in my room. On both classes, I had to turn the thermostat up. The coldest temp I got (on a summer cruise) was 64.5, for what ever it is worth.
  16. What sets people and companies apart is how things are handled in tough times, in good times it is really easy. I was on this cruise, she got off at the first stop, which should have been a preamble to customer complaint resolutions that would follow. If anyone is interested, there more than a couple of threads of this “experience”. Living it live, there was a significant amount of “emotion” in the discussions on the ship.
  17. Kind of tough to add pools after the fact.....
