  1. Nothing has changed with bingo on Carnival ships, so I am not sure what the “now” comment is in reference to. The Sunshine is the first of a significant redo of three older ships. Options are a good thing, if you want newer ships and sail from main ports, then you can do that. My guess people in SC love having a ship that sails from Charleston. Is the terminal the same as Miami or PC? Nope. Does it save people a bunch of $$ in cruising local? Yup
  2. When the pot gets stirred (in this case by the United States of California) then things have to get adjusted, appreciate the color on the line items.
  3. When someone acts like an animal, the penalty should be harsh.
  4. HOHO works well in Rome as well
  5. Not sure whre you are staying, but plenty to see walking tour around Pantheon
  6. Amazing how many ping pong bookings occur.
  7. We traveled with a senior that had dementia symptoms. We alerted the crew, esp cabin steward and others at pool areas and lido and MDR. They were very helpful in aissiting to locate him, while giving him freedom on the ship.
  8. Jamaica go glancing blow, appears Caymen will get same. Watch out Mexico https://weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/2024-07-02-hurricane-beryl-forecast-jamaica-mexico-texas
  9. Meh, they threw them before and will after, just part our new world.
  10. Number of posts just how many times you hit enter. There are many memories that cruising brings, hopefully more positive than negative. Life is full of choices, sometimes the ones we make enhance the opportunities for “things” to happen. Like flying in day of, or cruising during hurricane season etc etc. These choices may or may not be voluntary (like when we can cruise or vacation) but variables none the less. Like you, I try and embrace all of them tho some may not be so pleasant when they occur. One I never have experienced is souffle for lunch tho……
  11. Latest from the weather channel https://weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/2024-07-02-hurricane-beryl-forecast-jamaica-mexico-texas
  12. Let's hope for the best. We cruised into Cozumel the day before Wilma and 6 months later (tender only) after. The devastation was heart breaking. We have cruised to St Maarten after a hurricane (two actually) and San Juan, sometimes mother nature is relentless. Prayers and safe wishes for the entire area.
  13. There is not a chance in hades that significant damage gets fixed quickly. Infrastructure repairs (piers, waterfront area, and excursion companies and their needs) take months. All of this is premature, Grenada and the Grenadines had glancing blows and had significant damage, the next test will be Jamaica, but I fear most for the Yucatan peninsula, Cozumel and Rivera Maya area the most. Hopefully unfounded....
  14. Anybody flying in the day of should know there are risks. They do not hold ships for one party on a delayed flight and the process ends before the ship leaves, not after. This forum is filled with these stories. Travel insurance was, is, and will be the answer to that problem, not relying on a cruise line. Sounds like you are being lied to by many cruise lines. I hope your cruise experiences get better, not worse.
  15. Nope, stating the time and effort for reward. As I recall, the Op said it was not the monetary value, but the principle. I was posting on another posters comments. I might ask you if your post was judgmental but I would not do that. 😉
  16. As it should, by far our complex, the water was the vast majority of the damage.
  17. Jamaica is in trouble. They have been there many times before, and it is losing some strength, but not a good scenario.
  18. They have worked hard and done a simply fantastic job.
  19. Ian, the storm that Insurers are still holding out on. https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/30/business/hurricane-ian-cost/index.html
