  1. Just for grins I looked up a few of Legend's itineraries and it looks like most of them leave at either 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM, which could explain the later than expected arrival times. It's quite possible that you're in one of the first groups. What boarding zone are you in (will be on your boarding pass) ?
  2. I've sent in request WAY more than 3 months in advance and they've gone through. I was just looking at my upcoming cruises and one I did 10 months ahead with no issues. But anyway, we found the trade confirmation and will get that sent in.
  3. My daughter just bought CCL stock while the price is relatively low and wants to get her shareholder onboard credit for our cruise in 6 weeks. The brokerage company she used won't be issuing a statement in time for her to submit it to Carnival so I think the best she can do is a screenshot of her portfolio showing the CCL shares. Unfortunately that won't have her name on it, does anyone know if that will be a problem?
  4. Where are you sailing from? What time is the ship departing? I've not been able to get an early arrival appointment only one time and that was my most recent cruise (15 days to Hawaii) where I swear half the ship was Diamond or Platinum, and even then my arrival appointment was 11:00 AM and boarding zone C-3. One time I was only able to get a 1:00 PM arrival appointment but I found out that I'd neglected to read the email informing me that departure had been delayed. To be honest I can see an advantage for getting a very late arrival appointment - avoid crowds and walk straight onto the ship with immediate access to your cabin. In fact that's going to be my strategy from now on, we'll have a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, maybe go for a swim before checking out, go shopping to pick up our carry-on soft drinks and anything else we might have forgot, and then have lunch before heading to the port. As far as arriving at the port well before your arrival appointment and getting into the terminal, sometimes they don't check arrival times (in which case there's quite a few people who get into the terminal that shouldn't be there yet and it's a total mess), and other times there have been separate ques based on arrival appointment. I get the impression that more ports might be moving toward enforcing arrival times. To be honest you're not going to get on the ship any sooner by cheating because you board based on boarding zone and they're very strict about enforcing that.
  5. On Miracle a week ago the only news channel was CBS News, and as I recall it's been like that on all of my Carnival cruises. Honestly, Carnival's selection of what to watch on TV, as well as the TVs themselves, is disappointing when compared to the other cruise lines I've been on.
  6. I'm gonna' go out on a limb and say that the S&S cards come from the manufacturer with the hole in them. Every single one we've ever had came with holes in them, all the exact same size and in the exact same location (my wife has held on to them all and I just now confirmed that). Carnival's not gonna' take the time to individually punch several thousand cards for each cruise.
  7. Look at this issue from the perspective of cabin stewards. They've got a ton of work to do in a short amount of time and obviously people walking through hallways will get in their way and slow them down. Then there's the fact that there are more than a few self-entitled non P/D jerks who will try going through the closed doors regardless of whether or not they're supposed to. And to further complicate matters there's not a good way to tell if someone truly is P/D because room key cards aren't yet available...... I can see why cabin stewards could get frustrated. I prefer how Holland America handles this, they assign boarding times and once you board you have immediate access to your cabin.
  8. I think I'm done with them, I'm currently out $3150 because a) their website screwed up and didn't complete my purchase yet charged my credit card and b) their customer service people have been incompetent. I'll eventually get it straightened out, but it's just not worth the hassle.
  9. I talked to my credit card company shortly after this mess started, they require you to contact the merchant and at least attempt to resolve it with them. Nearly three weeks later AARP Rewards issued a credit to my card, but they screwed that up also. Someone mistakenly issued the credit twice, and then attempted to fix that by putting a charge on my card but for some reason did that twice as well..... WITH THE NET RESULT BEING THAT I'M STILL OUT $3150. At the same time they also told my credit card company that they'd issued a refund so the card company thought all was well. And to make matters worse my credit card company had sent forms through the mail for me to fill out but I was on a cruise so never saw those until too late. I'll eventually get this straightened out, but I'm at the point where I'm kicking myself in the ass for being cheap and trying to save a few dollars with discounted gift cards.
  10. I just happened to save some screenshots of menus from last week: Cappuccino $3.50 Latte $3.50 Espresso $2.50 Art of Tea Selection $2.50
  11. I just got off a 15 day cruise on Miracle. While it maybe technically wasn't a "class" I did notice that there was a "cooking demonstration" in the steak house several times throughout the cruise, no reservations needed just show up and hope all the seats aren't filled yet. I'm not sure if this is now a normal thing, or if it was just being offered for the long cruise. I don't remember seeing it on any of my previous cruises since 2018 (but that doesn't prove that it didn't exist).
  12. I don't believe that is correct, I was on Spirit shortly after her return earlier this year and every last bit of upholstery and carpet was brand spanking new. She was in fantastic condition. As far as Miracle's drydock, they're for sure repairing her thrusters (which is why her drydock was moved up). I just got off Miracle at the end of last week and everything seemed to be in pretty good condition, so I'm not too sure what else they plan on doing.
  13. I didn't realize there was such a thing as a "fast" internet connection on Carnival. 😬 Anyway, yeah, I saw John's post that Ships on a Stick will be back soon.
  14. Did you let Security or Guest Services know about this? They can't possibly do something about someone lighting up on a balcony if they don't know about it. I once had a nasty letter shoved under my door suggesting that I'd been smoking on my balcony and was in danger of that $500 fine. I was livid because none of us smoke so went to Guest Services to find out what the hell was going on. Apparently that was a standard letter that they give out to all cabins in the vicinity of a reported smoker if they can't accurately identify the source.
  15. Me personally, NO WAY. I'm not good at keeping a smile in my voice when someone is asking stupid questions (and admit it, a PVP will get a fair amount of that). For someone who's a good people person it might be a worthwhile endeavor depending on the pay.
  16. I wouldn't do 'cruise cash' because that's a use it or lose it proposition. You can check your gift card balance here: https://carnival.ourgiftcards.com/checkbalance So long as the proper amount is confirmed you're fine.
  17. Never got an email confirmation, normally they come through very quickly.
  18. I went online to purchase discounted Carnival gift cards from AARP a bit over a month ago, I've never had a problem with these before. This time the transaction didn't go through even though my credit card was charged. I talked to a representative at AARP Rewards and was told the problem occurred because I was using an ad-blocker with my browser (ok, maybe true but why didn't their website warn me to disable ad blockers before making a purchase?). They promised to refund my credit card within 5 days, so far it hasn't happened and I'm currently sitting on hold waiting to speak to them again about this. I'm questioning whether the hassle of correcting their error was worth saving a little bit on a few gift cards.
  19. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1139/~/calling-home We do not offer a direct dialing service to our ships. The following number is to be used as an emergency contact number for family members not traveling with our guests. In the event of a true emergency, family may contact our call center at 1-800-227-6482 on Mon - Sun, 7:00am - 12am EST. Our team will take down the caller's name and contact information and pass it on to our Guest Services team onboard.
  20. Curious if you were on Mardi Gras. I've sailed out of Port Canaveral multiple times (but never yet on Mardi Gras and most recently Sept. of last year) and have never seen them do it this way. Every time I've been there it was a single line getting into the terminal (with a "bypass line" for priority guests) and nobody bothered to check your appointment time. Maybe (hopefully) Carnival is getting more organized about this because the last couple of Carnival cruises I've been on have had lines based on arrival appointment. This seemed to help a lot.
  21. We've always had regular balcony cabins and on rare occasions a suite. Last year we tried a cove balcony on Magic and honestly neither hated nor loved it, it was just a bit different. I liked being closer to the water, never had any issues with spray (we were near the aft of the ship), and some of the structural steel provided a nice build in drink holder. It was a little weird being surrounded by steel, but not really a big deal. Like everyone else says, look at a deck plan and make sure you're not going to be under the galley. Other than that I'd say go for it just this once to see what you think.
  22. NO, Verifly is not required. You can just show your documents when you check in at the port.
  23. I'm on Miracle right now and was noticing that they're giving out medallions to contest winners instead of the coveted Ship On A Stick. What's up with that?
  24. Oh that's right...... they're saying prices will be going up 15%. Too bad wifi speed and reliability aren't going up as well, it's a crime charging so much for such sketchy internet.
  25. I'm on Miracle right now and according to my Hub App the price for 24 hours of Premium WiFi is $25.00.
