  1. I bought an Europe eSim from mobimatter for my Spain-Portugal cruise. $7.99 for 5 GBs good for 30 days. Great value since we had port days one after next.
  2. I see that your table had the names of your service team. I haven't seen those table tenants in the MDR for my last two cruises on Miracle and Pride.
  3. Are you on the Pride or the Legend? I didn't know Pride is going to Greenland this year.
  4. It was really confusing on the Rotterdam. Schedule on app showed half off but the printed schedule showed buy one get one half off. I had free drinks in the casino so didn't test which offer was right.
  5. Thanks for the great trip report. Did the removal of casino bar affect how long it took to get a drink in the casino?
  6. So enjoyed this trip report that I just booked the Dover-Rome itinerary in September. Looks like the ship is almost completely full. Only a few cabins left.
  7. Decks 2 and 3 near the theater can feel very crowded after shows because there is only one path on one side of the ship available to walk through (on deck 3 only starboard side through casino and on deck 2 through middle of Billboard and Rolling Stone). Granted Rotterdam is the only HAL ship I sailed on, but on other ships walkways on both sides of the ships are usually available to relieve congestion.
  8. It's been gone since January along with all other casino pre-cruise purchases. No idea if it's ever coming back.
  9. Was there a Captain's Club welcome event on your cruise? I sailed on February 11 and never got an invite to a Captain's Club welcome event. Got puzzled looks when I asked at Guest Services.
  10. If I buy e-gift cards online from AARP to be redeemed onboard, do I need to print out the gift cards for guest services to redeem? Or would emails on my phone suffice?
  11. If you compare identical sailings on carnival.com and carnival.com.au, you can see that fares on Australian site is higher but port taxes and fees are included in the fare. The taxes and fees explain the entire difference in cost, not gratuities For example, Nov. 2-5 sailing on Luminosa in an inside cabin is $230 USD on US site and $445 AUD (or $294 USD) on AU site. The difference of $64 USD covers exactly the port and taxes. The Nov. 21-30 sailing on Splendor in an inside is $401 USD on US site and $773 AUD (or $510 USD) on AU site. The difference is $109, which is pretty much the port and taxes charge on the US site ($108).
  12. That's what I came across when I researched this earlier, but I'm happy to be wrong.
  13. I briefly looked into this as I'm looking to book an Australian cruise on Carnival. I think it depends on whether you book on Australian site v US site. No auto-added gratuities if you book on carnival AU site. Gratuities will be added if you book on US site.
  14. Do wine carry on limits reset with each "segment" of a collector's cruise? I like to get my bottles of wine on land so I can have access to wider selection of wines and also save on wine expenses onboard. I have 2 collector's cruises booked on the Rotterdam, one from April 24-May 6 and the other from May 6-May 20. The April 24-May 6 is a collector cruise made up of 2 separate itineraries, a 5-day Scottish Adventure and another 7-day cruise to Norse Legends. Questions: 1. Will I be able to carry on two bottles of wine on April 24, and another two bottles on April 29? 2. Will I be able to carry on two more bottles on May 6 when I get on my Jewels of Baltic cruise on May 6?
  15. My last time on the Edge craps table was initially open only for one side. If they see enough people wanting to play, the pit called another dealer over to open up the other side.
  16. I wouldn't cut it that close either but am curious more than anything else.
  17. I noticed on my app that all aboard time on Solstice is 3:30 tomorrow even though departure time is listed as 4 pm. I remember when checking in that all guests must be aboard at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure time. Is the real all aboard time 2:30 or 3:30?
  18. I see some 30% off offers for shore excursions on my February 11 sailing. Terms for last minute offer: Web only offer, must be booked between January 27, 2023 – January 29, 2023 (“Offer Period”). Offer applies to select products and select sailings departing February 3, 2023 – February 13, 2023, excluding chartered and holiday sailings. The offer provides savings on select new purchases of shore excursions, specialty dining Trio Package and drinks, varying by product, ship, and length of voyage
  19. On a comp Blue Chip booking I was told gift card cannot be used to pay for the port taxes and fees. Not sure if that restriction is specific to BCC bookings.
  20. The casino play is annoying because the $49.99 increments (instead of $50). Were you able to trigger the $1,000 amex offer by purchasing $500 table + $500 slots even though the charge comes out to $999.80?
