  1. Not a peep. We are on the August 6 departure. I was just on a Silversea expedition. One of the expedition members is a regular on Seabourn and as of 2 weeks ago he was scheduled to join Venture on July 23. Cutting it close.
  2. Before you close this thread down I must report: The Fashion Police were missing from our recent cruise on the Cloud, which granted was an expedition. Someone in the MDR was wearing rumpled jeans and a tacky hooded sweatshirt. Even I looked askance in his direction and wondered where the Superbowl Party was.
  3. Two months, I can't believe it either. Thanks for taking us along. If you're looking for some authentic Swedish Meatballs and traditional Swedish cuisine in Stockholm check out Restaurant Bakfickan. As good as my grandmothers cooking.
  4. Wishing you minimal lines and smooth connections!
  5. In searching the Ponant web site I see that room service is available for breakfast. Is it available for other meals? Looking at this itinary: https://us.ponant.com/antarctica-expedition-to-new-zealand-s-subantarctic-islands-so060124-12 We have done the Dunedin/Sounds and happy to go back. But the snares and Mcquarrie, oh my. Also looking at Seychelles. Thanks @AussieBoyTXfor the enticing review. We need to get our Ponant feet wet as we are tired of Silversea and their crazy D2D pricing.
  6. You betcha! Always appreciate your insight on all things French Polynesia.
  7. Your fine reputation will be intact! Try every bottle. When we find what we like I take a picture of the bottle. It helps staff find it. We found that the "complimentary🤣 " pours were sometimes better in La Dame. Pictures really helped for fetching those to other venues. As for Chillean wines on board, they usually give me a headache.
  8. Thank for your alternate view. Good to know they are working on renovation. Up until last summer we never had any issues at IC and except for the tired rooms enjoyed our stay. After 3 bad stays last year I was happy to see the Hilton option.
  9. We have the Hilton booked for December with fingers crossed. We are tired of the very tired Intercontinental. It's quite the party hotel and management doesn't seem to care. Our neighboring OWB was packed with this huge party and blasted their music all day. We left around 6 to catch out flight, so I cant report on the evening. The pools are full of people on cheap packages from LA drinking up a storm or lots of screaming kids. For the record the OWB was a much nicer room than anything in the main hotel.
  10. It is closed. In 2019 during a shark feeding session a 9 year old child was bitten. http://sharkattacksurvivors.com/shark_attack/viewtopic.php?t=2175
  11. If the evening paring is not to our liking we politely ask what else they are pouring. After a few nights you will find your favorites and staff will often keep them near your table.
  12. We stayed in the Medallion suites pre remodel when she was rather tired. I liked the suite and location. Rather private actually. Didn't have any noise issues, but the shower barely drained.😉
  13. Storstrappen is a tough spot to transfer to Zodiacs. Ours was canceled as many are. The scenery from the zodiac will be stunning. Dramatic cliffs and inlets. Will you have a landing to see the Puffins and other Seabirds? The land scenery is mostly foggy, hilly tundra dotted with reindeer. Very cool. In Honnsviag, if you can, grab a private taxi to Nordkap museum to beat the bus crowds. Book in advance there are not many. It is wonderful. Nordkap might be included on your bus portion if the zodiac trip goes. There is a Crab restaurant in Honnisvaig that will beat any crab tour the ship offers. King Crab House Brasserie is a short walk from the dock. You might miss the cultural experience of eating crab on a bench in a crowded smokey teepee hut though. 😃 Either way it will be fabulous.
  14. You had me at McDonalds French fries.🤣 I understand Crypto which is exactly why I never speculated in that market. Once it passed the Trillion $ market cap I figured I better understand it. It's quite fascinating how the block chain system works although different for different coins. There were times when I wondered if Crypto was a new world paradigm that as an oldster I couldn't comprehend beyond the Tulipmania concept. The questions I have now are: In what future form will Crypto exist? Will it whittle down to a few of the more popular and liquid coins, especially those used for nefarious purposes? Will the greater fool theory find more greater FOOLS? Will those greater fools be more pension funds and third world governments? Will the current Crypto winter turn into an Ice Age? I'm headed back to the Metaverse where I can now outfit my Avatar with Balenciaga sneakers.
  15. Have some big fun and tell us all about it!
  16. M - I was just reading about The Viking Planet. Looks interesting....I think? Can't wait for your review. Will be back in Oslo in August for 4 days, and will follow your lead.
  17. Love the lives. Where are you going? Ooops nevermind, saw your reply.
  18. Thanks for all the photos, suite details and Wind info. We had the same bathroom and short closet issues on the Cloud. Except for those issues, we really liked the Cloud Silver suite. Although no tub, it had two full bathrooms. Now that was luxury! We are in the Wind Grand suite in Oct. Hope the ceiling is fixed so we don't fall through to the Royal. Maybe they can put in a connecting slide. 🤣
  19. Great device! So convenient. We use something similar, but continually try to refine our cord baggage. This device is probably not a smart charger. Meaning each cable when plugged in is not communicating with the device its plugged into asking how much it can handle and delivering that amount. So it's not so much that there are 4 cables, it's the type of cable. I suspect you're not worried about whether its going to take 30 minutes vs 60 minutes to charge your phone when you're sleeping. 😉
  20. No advantage booking directly. A good TA is worth their weight in gold. @Hlitnerhas it right
  21. From our recent Cloud sailing. Bartenders were happy to create and comply with special requests. Lovie was especially fond of the Dark Chocolate Martini.😁
