  1. You will incur taxes on drinks in any US territory on NCL. We were on RCCL and they eat the tax, but they also charge $1200 for 2 drink packages
  2. So additional tipping is at your discretion. Drink packages already include a 20% tip so, if you feel like tipping on top of that by all means do so. As far as a Butler, we travel in the Haven ad typically we do not ask for anything crazy or even bother them most days, so we tip $100 in the beginning when we first meet him and give him our minor requests, and then if we utilize them more during the cruise another $100 at the end. We also tip our room steward extra as well
  3. I agree, I would never leave my home day of cruise even if driving. We typically drive to all departure ports (Florida, New Orleans) as now a days even flying a day before with all the sudden cancelations and delays I would rather simply drive. We always leave early morning the day before departure around 6am, arrive about 10 hours later, enjoy a night in the departure port and relax. Wake up early and a short ride or even walk to the Ship. I always imagine my truck breaking down or something so at least I would have time to either leave it somewhere and rent a car or have it fixed real fast
  4. Little Frnch Key and Big French Key are right beside eachother. I have only been to little french key but absolutly love it. you do have about a 30 to 40 minute cab ride plusabout a 5 minute ferry ride on a barge style boat that hold maybe 10 people. If you can handle that little french key is amazing.
  5. My last 3 have been about 110 days out for bidding...
  6. I worked for NCL years and years ago and I was his ACD when Alvin was just a Junior Host. Sailed with him on the breakaway when he was CD about a year ago...Awesome guy!
  7. So Jealous, we are 87 days out for our Cruise on the Joy also in the Haven. Been on BReakaway twice in the Haven, your pics take me back!
  8. Getaway doesn't have a retractable roof, so typically they do not have tables set up, or if they do very few. Breakaway has a retractable roof and always has about 10 tables set up in courtyard for outdoor dining.
  9. Like I said before, I have cruise both NCL and RCCL. Have never had an experience that had me saying "never again". As far as Ships, RCCL Oasis class ships have the "WOW" factor everywhere. But on the flip side, we had anytime dining on the Symphony, and even with reservations still had to wait no less then 30 minutes to be seated. NCL we typically cruise the Breakaway class and Breakaway+ class ships (but have sailed Norwegian Star, Dawn, Majesty, and Crown). Food i find to be a little better in main dining rooms on NCL then RCCL, buffet much better on NCL. Now last 2 cruises and ours coming up in April are all Haven, and the dining room in Haven is amazing to me. Again, would never not cruise a ship or line simply because of reviews, reviews are mostly opinionated, and my perspective of a great cruise may not be for someone else.
  10. In order to see this i have to use a PC as my phone doesn't show me.
  11. looks like a mudslide or something like that to me
  12. I was on the Symphony of the seas in October and must say the Buffet was absolutely horrible! It was also very very small as far as the food stations for such a large ship
  13. We have sailed the Breakaway in the Haven Twice and sailing the Joy in April also in the Haven! loving your review. I plan on doing a Live Review form the Joy as well for the April 8th 2023 sailing.
  14. Haven will still continue to receive both turn down services
  15. Honestly also, The pullman beds are easy to put back in ceiling as well as the sofa beds easy to put away or take out
  16. Dont lose faith yet, I have seen upgrades happen even after you are on board
  17. I am assuming, (bad to do) that any pullman or sofa beds will have a second service in the afternoon.I am also assuming this would have to be requested, but i am sure it can be done.
  18. I have cruise symphony of the seas and will absolutely say the food on NCL breakaway class and plus ships food was much better
  19. So I am 43 5’9 currently 184. I usually am about 165 but this past year put on some pounds lol. Goal weight for my cruise is gonna be 165. Ver doable and will keep updated
  20. So, I have sailed NCL, Carnival, RCCL, and Princess. I keep coming back to NCL (accept last october, went on Symphony because my NCL cruise was canceled due to hurricane) I will say, Carnival ships have a more lively pool deck, RCCL megaships are very impressive with the public spaces as well as shows, but there dining venues and food left something to be desired to me. But one of the main reasons why i go back to NCL over and over is The Haven, and i love the size of NCL ships. Still large but not crazy big. So I will say, go into your cruise knowing you will enjoy it and you will, go into it with thinking you will be disappointed and you will...Just my thoughts
