  1. They recommend carrying it on with you. You can then go ahead and pay for corkage if you wish to have it poured in the dining rooms. If not, I would still carry it on if at all possible. The reason for this is because any luggage that shows bottles when scanned will then probably be searched, and can delay your suitcase being delivered to your room. (found this out by experience)
  2. And, you probably know this, but if you want the cabins next to each other, both of you should make sure that your booking is marked NO UPGRADE. And, make sure it stays that way.
  3. I don't know if one could ever find the foil wrapped pats of really good dairy butter onboard at the buffet or not any more!!!! You know all the jokes about the things that cruisers want to bring onboard... (canned corn!!! crock pot... Hahahaha!!!). Maybe we should bring some good butter!
  4. Sorry, that should have been 'an offer linked to OUR Captain's Circle account. This, like the poster here mentioned, also came with a small onboard credit. I suppose we could make the booking and then transfer it over to the TA if we wanted.
  5. Yes to the above post.... There are targeted promos that are sent out, or linked, to groups of guests. We happened to get offered a decreased fare when looking on Princess online when logged in. Even the TA we were talking to could not access that fare. She said to go ahead and book thru Princess if we booked the cruise. That it was probably a promo linked to their CC account. In this case, perhaps, as mentioned, your friends could book your cabin (one of them officially listed on each booking). Perhaps that is an idea worth trying. Maybe see if they try to book another cabin, and if their lower rate still pops up?
  6. I am a big fan of the closet set-up on Princess. Way better than small closets along the wall In the main area of the cabin, especially with doors. One comment... the closets are right there at the cabin entry with the bathroom. I have heard more than one story of water (or even possibly sewage) issues in the closet floor. We make sure that our actual stuff is not laying directly on the floor. In that photo above, we would have laid the suitcase there, with something under it, and then placed stuff on top of that, like a shelf. The longer dresses and clothing would then be hanging to the left of this, where the suitcase is standing there in the photo.
  7. We haven't flown or cruised for quite a while now. For those frequent flyers and cruisers, have you seen that the flights have been at full capacity. I know that the busy times, like holidays and long weekends are packed.I am wondering about capacity during a more normal off season week. Any insight from you guys?
  8. I know that there used to be extensive and iconic 'butter' threads here about how the little Princess pats of butter/margaraine are not all dairy butter. It could be different now, but I believe it was always a blend. We haven't cruised in quite some time, pre-pandemic... so it has been a while. If anybody is not super sensitive, or all vegan, then it could possibly be okay???? I remember looking for wrapped pats of true dairy butter if they could be found on the Buffet!!!! I want my REAL butter!!!
  9. Does anyone know, Is Princess limiting capacity at all? Or is that 70% just how booked many cruises happen to be right now???
  10. Sounds more like tight jeans and leather and 'hair' than Cyndi Lauper and the bright colored clothes and leg warmers mentioned... But, sounds cool. I did find out that X-Cite will not be the ship's band. They were awesome before the shut-down! It sounds like, maybe by Princess, they have limited their instruments and band members onboard. Maybe a lot of pre-recorded track stuff.
  11. Okay, Princess has posted information on the upcoming 80's cruise on Sapphire from CA this Fall. It shows: Featuring: Wanted (Bon Jovi Tribute), Carlos Oscar, DSB (Journey Tribute), and Leo Rossi (Knight’s of Rock) Sounds like quite a line-up.
  12. We are a split-the-pizza kind of people.... And, NO pineapple on pizza, EVER!!!!! Hahahaha!!! That is just, ....wrong! Yes, def. try Alfredo's!!!! That we can all agree on! PS: give me my pineapple in a nice fruity adult cocktail!!!
  13. Sabatini's Italian, Crown Grill or other named specialty Steakhouse, Gelato, Sushi if there is a seafood/sushi bar, are extra. Coffee and specialty coffee drinks at the Coffee Bar are extra. Pizza by room service has a small delivery fee. Alfredo's pizza/Italian is included if onboard, International Cafe, Most all food on the main pool deck, all the 'dining rooms', area ll included. Enjoy!
  14. Thanks! Princess always used to have the German Buffet Night. Often it was the last night of the sailing, when a lot of people are winding down and packing up. I just like the thought of one of those instead of another burger on deck one afternoon! Sunshine, breeze, ship band playing... one of those on a roll/bun. : )
  15. I too believe it is being planned to be an isolation area. Cruisers are seeing this while onboard. I don't think Princess will show this information on their booking engine and reservations. I don't think they finalize this until they look at GTY bookings, ship capacity, etc... at Final Payment Date. I am not sure of the best way to work with this!!!! I would hope that you might know and get another acceptable cabin, and not be moved just 'wherever'. I might be temped to go with the 'upgrade' to mid-ship. At least you would know that it is a desirable location, assuming it is not way-high, or. have some other issue. (like just over a venue like Crooners....) For a while people were losing those coveted aft wake-facing cabins to quarantine. But, I don't know if this is still how Princess is selecting quarantine areas. I know that forward deck 8 and 9 were seen one shop to be roped off, like quarantine. Good Luck!!!
  16. Yes, as you face forward on the ship it is Port (left) / Starboard (right) Like adding a PS to a text or letter
  17. Thanks everyone! This is 4 day shortie... If I did this, I wonder how a Cyndi Lauper / Madonna type getup would go over. Big hair, big makeup... Hahahaha!!! Sounds like I am hearing a Bon Jovi 'Rock' atmosphere.
  18. I see that this is not on the menu on the pool deck. Most ships have changed this to Tacos??? I saw a video on the Regal, and the Trident Grill menu was limited. I wonder if this is often available at the Buffett? You could run in there to do a German Sandwich on deck. Have you post-shutdown cruisers seen this often on the Buffett? (Royal Class newer ships) I think I prefer these to the regular hot dog!
  19. Okay, I did get a search back with some good info. I just would hope that the entire cruise is not "80's" every night! I know that on the Regal, they had put together a rock band that did an amazing concert in the Piazza with that king of rock. Journey, etc... and that was great! It would be good if this theme had something similar. There was always Madonna, Cyndi Lauper. (loved her!), etc.
  20. Hey, has anyone here been on a themed cruise like this? I am using a cruise that now is listed as an 80's themed cruise. I wonder what all this would mean. Does anyone here know what we would expect on this kind of cruise? THANKS!
  21. I have a valid question. When reading here about how FCCs expire, which is affecting some cruisers who have not been able to cruise over the last two.years, I wondered if these are just standard Princess gift cards, like most others. As these have no expiration. If they are Promotional Gift Cards, they will have an expiration, which should show on the card. Can anyone tell us if these AARP cards show an expiration date?
  22. OMG, you saw puffins!!!! I guess we were too early in the season. While the tour was amazing, I think the variety of wildlife we saw was limited. I am thinking that at that time of year, the otters are mating and caring for their young, so the didn't come super close to those.
  23. We went to the website link on the Princess website, but do not see any listing there for our ship. I don't think we even got far enough to enter the boarding departure date. Maybe we are too far in advance? Does anyone know how far in advance they might open up these appointments?
  24. Sorry! Another question that we should know the answer. If you plan to do the Princess Covid testing at the port. (FLL) How is this done? Do they have it set-up for this at each terminal? Do you go to a location at port before you go to your ship's terminal? We would plan on going to CVS before travel, if they will still do the PCR testing. I am thinking that there is the 3-day window for U.S. (non Canada) cruises. And that this doesn't count each our before boarding/departure. We did do CVS once, earlier in the pandemic. And we actually got the results back quickly.
  25. It has been a few years now, but we did this on our own before boarding Southbound. Even though the weather was pretty dismal at the beginning, it was an excellent smaller more close-up cruise! Enjoy!
