  1. Thank you for this, because I thought I was seeing things. When I initially booked, it said 5:30 for early dining. Now my docs say 5:00. Not a huge deal, but I would have liked that extra 30 minutes to get ready for dinner.
  2. I remember about 12 - 13 years ago on the last night of the cruise, hubby and I were exhausted, so we decided to skip the show for the evening, grab some Sorrentos pizza and stay in the cabin. At that time, the TVs in the room had TruTV and we watched a marathon of South Beach Tow until 1:00 in the morning (we had to get up to disembark the next day). We still talk about that night. On the next cruise we took, we had internet and we used it to stream shows while we were getting ready or winding down in the evening. We plan on doing the same this time around.
  3. We did a group of 15 on Allure a few years back. They merged 4 tables together for us every night. We had an early sitting.
  4. For me, I loved Hairspray when it was on the Oasis. Jim J. Bullock played Edna Turnblad on my sailing. That was a treat 🙂 Next would be Mamma Mia on Allure. Although I gotta admit I fell asleep halfway through and woke up during the last 20 minutes. I didn't even bother with Cats. I'm really hoping there will be another "Broadway" show on Utopia. That's my next sailing this summer.
  5. I'm planning on doing the same thing for our cruise, hoping to check in on the the ship by 11:30 or so. Coming in from Disney Springs, I would say aim to leave by 9:00 at the latest. It takes about an hour to get to the port area, so if you arrive at port by 10:00, give yourself about 45 minutes - 1 hour to fuel up, return the vehicle and then take the shuttle back to the ship. I've done a shuttle from the car rental to the ship before (in Port Everglades) and it was fine. I would imagine it would be same experience.
  6. On my very first cruise, I brought one and it made it through. I honestly didn't know then. On my next cruise, I brought it again, not thinking anything because I had brought it the first time. It was confiscated and returned to me at the end of the cruise. I haven't brought one again since. Now, I arrive for my cruise the day before and then I give a good iron/steam to my clothes in the hotel room the morning of the cruise and just unpack them as soon as I board. I've seen clothes irons/steamers that look like hair straighteners, but they are $$$$. I wouldn't spend that money to possibly bring something on board just for it to possibly be confiscated.
  7. I think they changed the app too. It was working fine this morning and then I just went back to it about 15 minutes ago ... it didn't recognize my email or password. Both aren't working.
  8. Don't watch last week's episode of 9-1-1. It would scare any first time cruiser for eternity.
  9. We're getting disembarking on a Friday, so I can imagine that traffic may be a bit heavier for a Friday morning in August. I'm going to try to be one of the first folks off the ship, so 7:00 or so.
  10. This makes me feel better. Even if we're at the airport by 8:30 - 9:00, we're gravy. I forget what site I was looking at, but it listed as our ship as scheduled to come into port for 6:00, so my guess is that they will start letting people off by 6:30 - 7:00. We'll aim to be off the ship by 7. Thank you!
  11. We just booked a Oceanview Balcony Guarantee (XB) on Utopia, as it was a $400 price difference. That can get us a some nice drinks and a couple of specialty dinners!
  12. When I originally booked, I requested My Time Dining. Now I think I want to switch to early dining instead. Do I have to call Royal to make that change or do I have to go through the 3rd party site that I used to book my cruise?
  13. Utopia, so an Oasis class ship. So I guess getting an Uber or Lyft may be my best bet in getting to the airport on time. Thank you for this!
  14. Thank you for your reply. I was thinking of taking an uber or something, but I guess we can do a private shuttle. I would love a 1:00 flight, but my choices are either 11:30 am or 8:00 pm. I would really rather not hang around for 10 - 12 hours doing nothing before my flight, so if I could make it for 11:30, I would rather do that.
  15. I'm in the midst of booking my flights home after our cruise which docks at Port Canaveral. Do you think that an 11:30 am flight out of MCO is doable? We both TSA Precheck, if that matters. I've always cruised out of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, but this is my first time out of Port Canaveral, so I have no idea what the terminal is like there. I hear it's about an hour away from MCO, is that true?
  16. In our last cruise out of Port Everglades, we picked up our rental car at the airport and dropped it off at the port (adjacent). Then the car rental company took us to the port by shuttle (free). I'm pretty sure it was Avis that we used. Look into what ever company that you rent from and see if that's an option for you.
