  1. Princess is allowed to go into areas in Alaska that others can't. You will only see Glacier Bay that way. We have taken kids on Alaska cruises many times. The kids' clubs are very good (or were back then) and ours loved the experience. I have taken babies up to teenagers. There will be gobs of kids on an Alaskan cruise, not just us oldies in our wheelchairs 🙂 With Alaska, the country is the attraction, not the stuff on board.
  2. You could be right. I blame it on my pusher (wheelchair variety.)
  3. I have loyalty on Carnival and Princess. Princess is "classier." Carnival, IMO, has better food. I really miss the deli on Carnival when I'm on Princess. Room service breakfast on Carnival is better. Guy's burgers are so superior to Princess's, it's not even a contest. I have also had better customer service with Carnival, on balance. Both are good with kids, though Carnival caters to them more.
  4. This. In my emails from Princess, there is this line that says "We are humbled by your loyalty." I have wondered, I must admit, if spell check changed "horrified" to "humbled" and nobody caught it. 😉
  5. Back in the historical past, when Elites got "free" internet, I seldom had problems, even on a TA. The "Best WiFi at Sea" failed me, though, a couple of times on a post-shutdown cruise along the California coast. But, hey, I got it at half price! 😉
  6. I would agree. I think it's on starboard side. I accidently ended up in there when my wheelchair took a wrong turn and got to look around for a bit before they shooed me out.
  7. I assume you mean plastic bottles and not other plastic single-use items like cutlery and straws. (But hey, that could be next!) 🤣
  8. Same decor, same menu. Location is the only variable.
  9. Anything can turn into a dress code thread on CC! 🤣
  10. For the ships with Crooners, yes. On Majestic, we got a great table by a window and spent a happy hour or so every day. Hanging out in the Piazza is fun, people watching or enjoying the music.
  11. Isn't it funny the stereotypes some people believe about seniors?
  12. I don't remember that. There is a wall and some doors that close between them.
  13. I know this. I just hope Corp doesn't decide to "tinker" HAL in the near future. Further on down the line, maybe, but as my friend DallasGuy says, I'm going to be dead soon. I really used to love Princess. Sigh.
  14. I have been taking my snaggle-toothed demographic over to HAL for the last couple of years. If it weren't for the FCC I have to use up on Princess...
  15. I guess you haven't been following what I've been saying all along. Princess is trying to get rid of old people. This is not a surprise to me. (With any luck, you will not get any older than you are now.)
  16. Possibly you should have struggled a little more. 🙂 Yep. I'm old. I'm going to die, so it makes perfect sense for Princess to cut my perks and change everything I liked about it. No point trying to keep me coming back. You convinced me! Where's the plank? Gotta go walk it.
  17. This. The idea is to attract new customers and escort the old ones off the ship. Our day as Elites has come and gone.
  18. It sounds like the gifts are random, some worth more than others. Does everyone get a gift? It's just another form of gambling. Maybe you'll get dinner in Salty Dog pub or maybe you'll get $1000. I'm passing on this.
  19. It's the new business model. They want to attract new cruisers and stop spending money on the old ones who were loyal and were promised perks. Princess is not the same company it was pre-covid.
  20. A related question: does CC dining operate for lunch on embarkation day?
  21. I saw some for sale on the Majestic this year. I don't think Princess will turn down a chance to make some money off the smokers. It's still legal in "designated areas."
  22. Is CC dining on deck 5 or 6? Is it port or starboard?
