7708 will be the BEST of the Afts! It's huge and on the corner with the big side porthole, so you'll have both the side and back view. It will look very similar to the balcony in my pic above (the one with DH in his hammock) but it's on the opposite side of the ship. (And by the way, DH took a bunch of pics of how he hung the hammock....just FYI if you're thinking of trying that.)
Yes I think you're right...you'll probably love the 7708 corner aft balcony!
Judy
Yay! We have 7408 on FOS booked for May, 2014! :D I love reading all of these reviews and so happy we were able to switch cabins. I love the hammock!

Do they offer the tapas menu on Freedom of the Seas?
-
I know this sounds silly, but do they still offer Savory Bites when they come around with the bread basket?
-
What does being "diamond plus" matter?
Maybe they got to that level because by booking interior staterooms, they were able to afford more cruises?
-
I believe the Vidalia Onion Tart and the Scallop Risotto are both gone.:(
 Oh well! I'm sure there will be plenty of things on the new menu that I'll enjoy. Are there any scanned menus available here on CC?
-
Do they still serve the Vidalia Onion Tart appetizer on the first evening?
Also, do they still have Greek Salad in the Windjammer?

Another "Premium Package" scenario.
Our 24 year old daughter will be sharing a room with her 20 year old sister. Would she be eligible to purchase the package, or do both occupants need to be 21. -
Yes, as long as you just ask for a Mojito, and not one with a premium liquor that is not included in the package.
Besides the "Champagne Bar," another thing I missed about RC..."Mojitos in Bolero's!" (so happy to be sailing again with RC. Wish we didn't have to wait a year!) -
I'm really liking the sound of this. :)
When we cruise, if you tally up the drinks we get throughout the day, especially when we cruise with our friends, it would be worth it. Some mornings we'll get a Blood Mary or Mimosa with breakfast. A few drinks by the pool during the day, pre-dinner drinks in the Champagne Bar, a glass of wine or two with dinner, an after dinner drink. We'd skip the Premium Wine and Dine package we normally get. (I'd be perfectly fine with the house wines by the glass in the MDR.)
Are there any Cognac's available in the cigar lounge on the premium package? Also, can you use it on Coco Cay and Labadee?
Last but not least, is there a pdf anywhere of the on board drink menus? Curious to see the prices. -
When we cruise as a family, our daughters are always in an interior and they love it. They like to take naps during the day. While I've never been in an interior, there have been a couple of cruises I've been on where due to weather, the balcony seemed like a waste of money. There are always interior cabins across from our balconies, and I can tell you, it doesn't look like any of those people are having less fun, in fact, sometimes it looks like they're having more!
If I lived closer to a port where airfare was never a part of the equation, we'd probably do lots of those 3-4 day deals in an interior.
Not sure which ship you are on, but we had 2-3 pre-dinner cocktails in the Champagne bar almost every evening without a problem.....including Bellinis.
We'll be on Freedom. Our last 3 cruises have been with Carnival, and we've really missed a lot of things offered on RC ships, the Champagne Bar being one of them. :) I don't even remember the price for a Bellini in the Champagne Bar.
So if you're buying a round and someone in your group doesn't have the package, they would just charge my sea pass for their drinks? -
Becky Thompson? She left ship-life to marry and have children, and works for the company landside.
We had Becky as our CD on our first couple of Mariner cruises and really enjoyed her.
Bellini's are absolutely included in the package. I had several. All bars accept the package. This would include the champagne bar.

Great to hear. I have a feeling we'll probably get the premium package when we cruise on Freedom next May. We always have a few pre-dinner drinks in the Champagne Bar. Nice to see those would be included.
11 months away and I have butterflies in my stomach thinking about our next cruise. Nice to come here to be able to talk about it with other like minded people! :D -
We were on the Jewel's last regular cruise from Tampa on May 6-11 and all had the premium package. The Champagne Bar, which was a full bar, would not honor the package for even a soda. I was a bit bummed as it was a beautiful bar with a nice view. Maybe they didn't want "rowdy" types spoiling their atmosphere. Haha! I also thought maybe it was due to only premium liquors being sold there, but that was not the case. They simply did not participate. Otherwise the package was great, but 90% of the bars made you sign a receipt. I was a little sick of alcohol at the end, though.
So our pre-dinner Bellini's in the Champagne Bar wouldn't be covered under the premium package? -
Thanks for the great review and pictures!

The Breeze also has the Tandoor place. They have an Indian meal every night in the MDR. I don't mean the vegetarian option that is printed on the menu. This is something that you have to order a day ahead. We have had it twice and it is amazing. You get whatever they make for you that day. If you like Indian food, give it a try.
I didn't know about this! My husband and I will have to check it out on our next cruise! :D
-
My husband and I sailed on Dream last week, and despite the rough conditions, we ate lunch at the Tandoor out at the aft pool almost every day. Some of the best food on board. We were talking about future cruises with Carnival, and we both agreed we'd want a ship that had Tandoor.
So curious, which ships have this available? Is it always an outside station?
-
206 Days! Look forward to sailing again with Royal Caribbean!
-
We just got off of Dream yesterday. We had an extra day at sea...and use of phones was complimentary.
-
Is there a difference between a Thalasso pool and a regular hot tub?
-
Thank you for your review. Your videos have just about sold me on purchasing a spa pass for the week. Does anyone know what the price is, and can they be purchased for a day or only for the week?
-
8 Days!!!! :D
-
Hey thanks for the info. Missed that one.
No problem. I'm sailing on Dream in 17 days. I've hit my "completely obsessed, can't focus or think about anything else but cruising" stage. At least I can post here, so I don't drive my husband crazy. :)

Ok you post 2.0 cruisers, where are the reviews and information? Been waiting for an informational review, not one where the OP just gets bashed. Please let us know about the changes and any new information that would help us.

AFT Cabins... Has anyone ever NOT liked their Aft?

Both corner afts on deck 7 are available for our cruise. We're currently in 7408 which is starboard side (I believe). Is there any reason I should switch over to Port side? (we're typically on port side when we sail, no reason really, it just turned out that way!)
