Is there something particularly intriguing about 19003? Have an opportunity to book that cabin and I just want to make sure I'm not missing something! :classic_biggrin:

When I booked this cabin a few weeks ago, we had 3 or 4 on deck 19 to choose from. My husband and I actually like being forward on a ship, so we went with the most forward cabin available for that category.

Our local Costco sells the patches as do drugstores.  I will tell you that my husband has awful motion sickness and has never been seasick on 12 cruises, including some roughish ones.  We still bring the meds with us just in case.

I'm like your husband. I can barely look down at my phone in a moving car (passenger 😃) but have never been seasick on any cruise, including one where we were out at sea during Hurricane Sandy. I do, however, take Bonine at bedtime starting the night before we board. My husband is also prone to seasickness and doesn't take anything and has also never been sick.

Just bring your own with you.  Problem solved.  The issue might be trying to find that (or any other med) when the ship's stores are closed or after hours.  A late night visit to the medical center will cost you BIG BIG BIG dollars.  It's always important (IMO) to have your own first aid kit when you cruise.   To note, we've added 4 covid tests to ours now, "just in case."  I'd rather self diagnose first should something happen.

Good idea on adding a few Covid tests! And yes to the travel first aid kit. Mine has just about any OTC med you can think of, cold meds, digital thermometer, etc. Most times we don't need it at all, but there've been a couple of times over the years where it came in handy.

Is this current for Hertz?  Last time we were there Hertz was down for the count in late 2021.  Even Budget owner said so.

Oh wow...just did a quick google and it says the location is permanently closed. Boo. It was so convenient when we stayed at that Residence Inn.

We don’t consistently get the pre boarding email so my (small) list includes notes of a food allergy. (I don’t want to come back to a surprise treat that I’m allergic to!) Then indicates requested bottle of booze, newspaper and pillow choice. It also lists a standing order of camomile tea at night.  That’s all.

I've never gotten a pre-boarding email from the MSC concierge like we have in the past with RC. I did however get a call today from an MSC cruise concierge asking if I needed any assistance with our upcoming cruises. Strange, because they were booked a few weeks ago and we don't sail until September.

I’d get to coco beach and stay at a hotel that offers shuttle service to the port.
such a nicer area to stay with things to do.  You can go to one of the restaurants on the water and watch ships leave on the day before.   Saturday I’d guess.

I rented a car from MIA and there’s a budget in Coco beach you can drop off at that has a shuttle.   Car was 53.00.  Cheaper than an Uber to the port.
but drop your bags and other family off first at the port.  Then return the car.
and take one of the shuttles back by your self with no luggage.
wish I knew this Sunday when I left.
I found out while waiting for a shuttle about this trick.
and if the lines are crazy for the shuttle.
walk across the street to Wendy’s and grab a Lyft or Uber which Evers cheaper.
I did that and it was $10.34. And I avoided the shuttle lines.

We've done this exact same thing several times.

Also, if you're a Hertz person, the Residence Inn at PC had a Hertz facility right in front of the hotel. We return there and take their shuttle right to the port. Been a while since we've sailed out of PC though.

  7. Is there wine on the list? I don't really see us mixing a cocktail in our room when we can have it delivered.

Is this what they do on all ships now?

Silly question, but are there still those little cans of nuts in the mini-bar?

There are some tea bags on the Nespresso condiment shelf in your cabin.  As stated above use machine with out pod and you get hot water.  Did it last week and it worked fine.

Thanks. Whenever I've tried this on other in-room coffee makers, there's a coffee taste to the water. Those weren't Nespresso machines though.

Premium Plus is no longer available as an option, the YC package is equivalent to the new top package which is Premium 'Extra'.....which used to be called Premium!

Good to hear no upgrading necessary. Hendricks won't be a problem for my husband's G&Ts. Do they still serve Moet in the Top Sail? I know that's what I was drinking with the upgraded package. There was a Moet Rose that was quite tasty.

  10. We haven't sailed since 2021. Our last cruise was on Meraviglia in the YC.

Is it still possible to upgrade to the top tier package by paying the difference, or is that now included with YC? On our last cruise we had quite of bit of OBC to blow thru and did the upgrade. We'll be sailing on Seascape in September, no OBC this time, but may want to do the upgrade again if it's an option.

Is there a current YC drinks list available?

  11. We've sailed twice in the YC (Meraviglia and Seaside). I know there's a coffee maker (Nespresso?), but we've never had a tea kettle like we have when sailing in suites with RC (Caribbean itineraries, not Europe). (Haven't sailed in a while with RC, so maybe they're not doing this anymore.)

Are tea kettles available with MSC?

  12. Thank you for taking the time to post. Definitely interested in World Europa. We're also big fans of the YC product. I haven't really done any research at all on this ship and am already a little confused. For some reason I thought the entire ship had YC type staterooms, that it would be competing with Regent and Oceana, so a little confused to see that you're in the YC.

What makes World Europa different from other MSC ships?

The best wine we had on our recent cruise was the wine , during our meals in YC.
YC Restaurant manager was also a sommelier.

He offered us amazing wines in the restaurant. Never charged extra.

We did attend a wine tasting event he hosted.
Extra charge for this but was good exposure to some very expensive wines.

Enjoy your cruise and YC experience.

Do you know if the wine tasting event is something they offer each week?

  14. Finally decided on dates and booked a B2B on Seascape for September.  We're celebrating my husband reaching full retirement and have all the time now for longer cruises. The only obstacle was our dog, but our daughters have both stepped up to the plate and will care for her so we're good to go.

We've only done B2B's on RC and our last one was in 2015.  Is the process pretty much the same and do they have any type of lunch on turnaround day for B2B cruisers? We're in the YC if that makes a difference.

    Thanks in advance.

Hello all, and thank you in advance for any insight.

This will be our first time cruising MSC, currently Diamond on Carnival and Royal.
We are booked in an Aurea Balcony, but have an offer to upgrade to a YC Interior for $300pp USD.

Although we do enjoy a balcony, it is not a must have us.
With that said, from any past experience, stay with Aurea or bite?

YC is an entirely different experience and I mean that in a good way. Exceptional service throughout, and their private pool deck is amazing. There are so many great outdoor spaces within the YC and actually ship wide, so if you can do without the balcony, I'd take the upgrade. Also, your premium beverage package is included with YC (not sure about Aurea), and you also have unlimited access to the thermal spa area. Private dining room serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there's an outdoor grill restaurant on their pool deck serving breakfast and lunch.

Just be warned that once most people try YC, it's the only way you'll ever want to cruise.

Ocean Cay is my favorite private island in the industry.  It's so beautiful and they've done a great job of protecting the integrity of the island...ie, no water parks and zip lining.  The YC area of the island is nice for lunch and great views, but IMO the private beach area is not nearly as nice as some of the others on the island.  Happy for you and your decision!

    Agree 100%.

Also, you MUST have water shoes if you want to dip your toes into the water.

Kind of surprised there isn't something they could do to make that beach surface a little more comfortable.

I have sailed with MSC 4 times and can say MSC is now my favorite cruise line.  Service has always been great.  Staff exceptionally friendly.  For the money it is, I my opinion, the best value for your money.  I am 76 and don't expect as much now as I did 30 years ago, my first cruise was in 1988.  My next cruise, 1/22/23, will be my 39th.  And in April I take my 40th.

Great attitude! Enjoy your upcoming cruises. Cheers!

One nice things versus other lines, you can have drinks delivered to your room. We would also do an order in the lounge and usually one of the Butlers will "insist" on carrying it back to your room for you. I enjoyed having a glass of wine while getting ready for dinner, or something after returning from an excursion.

Yes!  I loved this YC perk. I also have my husband pop that bottle of bubbly on the first day and enjoy that while I'm unpacking.

Thanks for the comparison. We have been debating on trying MSC, my mom is really intrigued by the Yacht Club idea they have.

If you book Yacht Club on any MSC ship, you won't be disappointed.

  20. Forgot to mention our new booking for September isn't the one we were originally looking at either. We're now doing a western Caribbean itinerary that DOESN'T make a stop in Nassau. Done the itinerary many times, but it's been a while since we've been to GC, and we always like taking a walk around town in the morning and back on board for lunch. Cozumel will either be a beach day at Nachi Cocum (if you haven't been, highly recommend) or just stay on the ship and enjoy the YC pool. Really more about the ship for us.

Book it!! Sister ship to Seaside so you will be very familar with layout. I've already booked Seascape for Thanksgiving...Will be our 3rd MSC cruise..all in YC

Booked, but now we're going in September instead of May. And I've already made a change to my reservation. Originally booked a YC1 which is what we've had in the past, then watched some YouTube videos of ship tours and saw the larger one with a walk-in closet. (Grand?) Called MSC to switch cabins and the rep noticed my 5% Diamond discount hadn't been applied to my original booking. She took care of that, and my new booking is still less than my original one.

And yes, we loved Seaside! This will also be our third cruise with MSC and all in YC too. So excited!
