  1. Anyone tested at MIA near baggage claim?  How was your experience?  I called the facility the other day and was told no appointment necessary. Open 24 hours. Rapid antigen $79/pp.

We're sailing next week on MSC Meraviglia. Thought it would be nice to fly in 2 days before we sail this time, but that was back when they were accepting 3 day testing. No rental car this time, so testing at the airport seems like the best option for us.

Regular walk in and very large

Yes, and with a seat at the back of the shower. Also, rain shower and hand held.

(On Mera in 2 weeks, and while it looks like the shower in the YC1 is identical, it doesn't appear to have the seat. First world problems, I know.)

  3. I've noticed in recent pictures that it looks like the barstools have been removed or blocked off, probably due to COVID.

My husband loves sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartenders. Does anyone know if that's possible now?  We'll be on Meraviglia in 2 weeks.

The Taco restaurant HOLA! is on a different class of ships.  I guess if you include the pay-for Pizza a the Cafe del Baccio that would be a second "specialty" restaurant (but since you can get equally good pizza up in the buffet we saw no need).  So, yes, the ONLY specialty restaurant.

DOH! You were on Divina and I'm thinking Meraviglia.

THE ONLY option is Butcher's Cut.  Eatily has been removed.  And Butcher's Cut was "meh" at best.   The quality of the beef has gone way down.  Granted they were just starting up but we went to order things and they were out of them (food/wine/etc).  By the time you sail it should be back to normal.

Yes, of course we are glad we went - a cruise is better than sitting at home!

The ONLY specialty restaurant open the entire week was Butcher's Cut?  Hasn't Eatily been changed into a Taco restaurant, or am I thinking of a different ship?

I've seen some recent photos of dinners in Butcher's Cut, and they honestly didn't look that great.

From MIA website (posted May 20 , 2021):

MIA’s South Terminal testing facility, operated by Nomi Health and located near the Concourse H TSA Checkpoint on the departures level at Door 20, provides Antigen, PCR, and Rapid PCR tests daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for walk-ins and scheduled appointments. Thank you.  I called the one in concourse E yesterday. Their long recorded message said that a rapid antigen is $79.

Our family members, 2 vaccinated adults and 2 unvaccinated children were all tested when they landed in Miami the day of their cruise and yes MSC accepted their results. They had their results in an email with all of the required info.

    Great!!!  Thank you!

We're flying in on Thursday before cruise departs on Saturday. Had planned on testing here at home the day before leaving, but then everything changed. We leave for the airport at 8am and didn't want to change our flights again. Testing at the airport seems like the best way to go now. Your reply has really taken a load off stress wise. 😊

  8. I was just looking at some photos online of this cabin style, and it was hard to tell the number of outlets, and it didn't look like there are any outlets next to the bed.

My husband uses a CPAP, and not sure if his extension cord will reach across the room. Is that something they can provide? Also, the last time we sailed with them I thought I requested distilled water for the CPAP in advance. Is there a special needs request that can be done online, or can everything be taken care of once on board by our cabin steward?

I see it listed for $14, which is why it may not be listed in the YC.....

Would be covered by Premium-Plus, but possibly not in YC - I say possibly because as others have mentioned, it depends on bartender, time of day, position of the sun, general mood of said bartender, and the bar itself. 🙂

I wonder if we upgrade to Premium Plus while in YC (that's our plan), if they'd be kind enough to serve it there?

I think the US market is different.   CruiseHabit has info from late Aug 2021 on Meraviglia, so it's a good source of menus there!

I checked out CruiseHabit's website. Saw Hendricks available on other menus, but not listed on the YC menu, even with the upgrade. Thought that was kind of odd.

On my 7 day cruise, I have the option to purchase  browse  and Stream - 1 device $100.73 pp and 2 devices is $179.06 per person. We are in YC. Since Browse ( 2 devices) is included (134.26pp) wonder if it would be the difference?  Not able to do it online. Probably onboard.  Remember, concierge is your best friend while onboard.

Not sure you need specialty package.  Up to you.   We have a specialty dinner because we are Diamond but, it was disappointing. We should have stayed and eaten in YC Dining room.  Remember, you do not need to stick to menu of the day.

Not sure upgrading to Premium Plus is needed.  Not included in YC booking.

    Fun Pass is $80

We may want to upgrade our internet as well. Is this something the concierge can take care of for us?

We were sailing YC Deluxe suite on Meraviglia.

Deck 15. 4 cabins down from RS.
First day of sailing, noticed RS door open and asst.butler finishing up inside.  Asked if I could take pics before guests check in.

Butler mentioned it would not be occupied for cruise. Asked if we were interested.
    YES.

Concierge called and got OK to give it to us.

What a great week. Mediterranean .

    WOW!!

  13. I understand we'll get the Browse package for 2 devices included in the YC.  If we decide to upgrade to Browse and Stream, would we only pay the difference between those two packages? (We'd like to be able to FaceTime nurses at assisted living.)

Also, if my husband were to bring a tablet, would we be able to add a 3rd device by paying the difference between the two different packages for 3 devices (Browse and Browse & Stream), or would we have to pay full price for a 1 device, Browse & Stream, since only 2 devices are covered in YC?

    Sorry if that's confusing.

I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE COST AT THIS POINT !

JUST NEED A RAPID TEST !

Unfortunately, we leave the San Francisco airport before the airport clinic opens or i could get a test there.

Do not get to Miami until after 6pm.... layover in Phoenix...not long enough to find a test & then the time change so Thursday is out.

    That only leaves Friday....

    having a breakdown.......       :O(

Now everything in Miami is closed, most for the weekend so cannot even do more research... very frustrating...

I think the testing center at the Miami airport is open 24 hours. Located in baggage claim area. $79 for a rapid antigen.

We were also planning on testing at home the day before our flight. Right now testing at MIA seems to be our best option. Hopefully MSC will accept tests from an airport test center.

Same! Car service picks us up early on Thursday, we sail on Saturday. Had it all figured out when it was a 3-day test thing. Maybe good idea to still do the freebie test at Walgreens a day or so ahead of our flight on Thursday.

Really good news about the testing at MIA though. Sounds like that's what we'll be doing.

It would be great if they could still offer testing at the pier. What about people who get tested at Walgreens or CVS and their results are delayed?
