  1. I realise decent is relative.

We're from the UK, anything that's not raining and bleak is decent, although we are having a heatwave at the moment ...this is our third day of temps in the 80's F ;)

Personally, I like to feel the warmth of the sun on the old bones whilst watching the world go by :D

  2. We've crossed the Atlantic on Celebrity once but it was the end of April/ beginning of May. We've noticed the Riviera crossing is the end of March and we're thinking it might be a bit early to experience decent weather conditions.

Has anyone been on the Transatlantic crossing at this time who can advise please ?

  3. We ate in Ocean Liners and I can honestly say that the food and service was, in our opinion, unbeatable.

Admittedly it was over 18 months ago, but I wouldn't hesitate in recommending a visit there, we went three times on our cruise.

It's a very quiet relaxing environment, but the memory of the exquisite goats cheese souffle just as a starter is making my mouth water! ;)

  4. Can anyone help with information about which side of the ship is best for a balcony sun worshipper when sailing from Istanbul to Barcelona please?

My astronomy capabilities are severely lacking and I can't work it out myself. :o

    Thanks

  5. I'm only teasing.

My original query has been answered because if possible, I do prefer to sit on my balcony and preferably lay on a sun lounger, either watching the world go by, or looking at the back of my eyelids. ;) once we've finished the days exploring.

Thanks for the chuckle and sharing your knowledge.

If you position the lounge with its back into the corner (making a triangle of space) and then hang the wooden hanger from the back' date=' a swimsuit will dry very quickly while in the Caribbean warmth, and would not need to be 'left'.

    :D[/quote]

 will it dry quickly in the Mediterranean ;)

  7. Well then, I'll send you right over the moon: I used some of the wooden hangers from the closets to hang swimsuits on the back of the lounger and the arms of the chairs for drying. ;)

Best wishes for aft cabin selection...

    :D

    Virtually skipping over it :D:D

Who would've thought there could be a connection!

Thanks, only 90 days till 7145 and the luxury of my costume drying on its very own wooden hanger on the solitary lounger ;) :D

  8. Just came back from the Oosterdam last week in cabin 7149. The balcony had one lounger, one chair with an ottoman, one smaller chair and a small table. There was plenty of room on the balcony and the seating was comfortable for sunbathing and eating.

Thank you , that's just made my day just that little bit better :D

  9. Are you asking about aft-facing stern cabins or just side cabins toward the back of the ship? We've stayed in both. (Our favorite was an aft-corner suite.)

If you mention the cabin number, you might hear from someone who has stayed in that exact cabin.:)

    Cheers!

Am specifically interested in the aft/ wake facing cabins - 8136/8138/ 8141/ 8143 .Thanks

  10. Can experienced "HAL-ers " share their knowledge on these cabins please.

We have been on the Eurodam, but must admit to have cruised mostly on Celebrity however, pricing, dates and itinerary seem to suit us for an Oosterdam sailing.

Any info would be appreciated thanks.

  11. Ginger root capsules work for me. :)

No drowsiness, no wristbands cutting into squidgy wrists, no plasters behind the ears, no after effects and no sea sickness. ;)

I take one capsule in the morning and one in the evening, even if the sea is calm. I just don't want to risk spoiling one minute of my cruise. We've sailed some fairly choppy seas , where the little white bags have been left by the lifts, for the people in need, and I've been just fine.

  12. We always look at Celebrity first when planning a holiday but have noticed that P&O have some very good prices on an itinerary that Celebrity doesn't have. This of course is very tempting for holiday obsessed people who like an extra holiday if at all possible. We're not looking for lots to do onboard.

We've been in various different categories on various ships and have also sailed with other lines.

To be honest my main criteria is a larger than standard size balcony so that I can enjoy peace and quiet and watch the sea. My DP is generally just happy to cruise. Unfortunately, we're not able to go to "suite" level, the prices are good, but not quite good enough for that .

Any opinions would be appreciated, thanks.

  14. We were in 7008 the angled B3 on Riviera last September and has no issues at all. We often woke up in the morning and has already docked and hadn't realised we'd stopped sailing. The ship was super smooth.

We sailed through a storm and the balcony divider was rattling quite a bit but it was extremely windy, the noise didn't permeate into the stateroom. I noticed that my neighbour wedged something between the divider and the balcony so it stopped.

  15. We can't get Bonine or dramamine in Canada so hope to have enough time to get some in SAN Diego before boarding. Canadian gravol pills make me feel like crap.

    Take Ginger root capsules.

They've always worked for me and we've been in fairly choppy seas. Best of all, no after effects ;)
