I'm really not a mixer. I don't drink so I don't go to the bars. But I really love to travel. I met wonderful wonderful people on cruise ships . So far ,thank heavens, I have enjoyed myself. 1 of my 1st cruises was a 38 day world cruise.
I made sure that it had a seat and that a held a lot of weight. I'm a little Leary cause I've never done it before but I am going to take it and see what happens.
That is exactly the reason I bought my walker . Last year I went on a trip with Norwegian cruise lines and waited 3 hours to embark. I have a problem standing in place for long periods of time. I bought my walker, haven't used it yet but I am going to take it with me on my next trip in Mat of this year.
I travel Holland America and they put me at a table with other solo cruises. I choose a table for 6. So far so good. You're only at the table for about an hour and 1⁄2 and it's good to see people while you're cruising that you recognize. Nice to say hello.
I travel solo. I don't wanna worry where others are or what they doing or if I have to join in or if I have to go with them. It is so freeing To be able to do what you want when you want. I'm married And I like to travel solo. If someone speaks to me I will respond but I don't actively look for other people. I do like to sit with other people when I'm dining and it is always worked out well. I have trouble several lines but my favorite is Holland America.
I love traveling holland America and have done it several times solo. I've taken other cruise lines and I have not enjoyed them as much. They really is a difference.
I will be on Holland America. I think I'm going to give them a call and see what they have to say. But thank you so much for your reply , it as been very helpful.
I have a question about rising from the chairs in the dining room and the buffet. I have a lot of difficulty getting out of a chair. I do have a walker that I've never used because I really do prefer the cane and so far it has serviced me well. This next cruise though I believe I am going to take the walker for I think I may need it.
My question is this. Does the ship provide anything that will help me get up and down from a chair? A pillow of some sort or a cushion? I'd be willing to purchase something but I don't know what to buy. Any suggestions?
Also, how would a walker work getting on a bus for a an excursion and going up and down the ramp to get on and off the ship? Is it very difficult?
Thank you
That scares me. I felt such confidence when Holland America told me that they would take me from the pier to my room and back again when it was time to leave. I'm gonna call them again just to be sure.
