  1. Adventure and its southern itineraries are sort of addicting!

You got that right....and addicted to the Serenade too...never thought the man would like a ship without a promenade....get him in the perfect cabin and he forgets all about that....so the next ones are on Serenade after the Adventure which now that she will be year round in San Juan and taking over the Jewel schedule....have to go look at those schedules...

  2. I was on EX when the first prop issue occurred. It clipped a reef on the 9 day before our 9 day. They tried to fix in Bermuda and NJ before our cruise. No dice. They ended up going slow on two pods for our 9 day with shorter stops and the same for the following 5 day. Then they replaced the whole prop in St. Thomas on the next 9 day.

    To RedDevil:

Hi Dick!!! we were on that cruise it hit the reef in Samana! So no labadee for us and a whole day in the turks on the water while the ship had divers down checking how bad the damage was. Limped back to Bayonne.

Hope you all are well and tell Mari hello. We have been cruising on the Serenade and the Adventure!

  3. I have to say I just couldn't wait to book my cruise on the Quantum the morning it opened up for my tier group. Got an excellent deal especially compared to prices today. Once this dynamic group announcement happened.....we switched our booking. While this may be great for some, we tend to cruise longer amounts of time and our first cruise was to be the 11 nights on Dec 1. No entertainment schedule had been announced so unlike the Allure or Oasis, too difficult to plan. Our last Allure trip was like a spreadsheet.....and two of us online and too many "oops honey can't get in that show at that time its all booked....sorry honey can't eat second seating dining because all the shows for earlier are booked" it was just terrible. Too stressful. The whole idea of cruising to me....show up ....tell me where my seat is and what time to be in it for dinner...pamper me and take care of me all week. I am happy camper. Walk in second night...my ice tea is sitting there ready with lemon they know i like coffee with my desserts....i can't have fried foods so always having suggestions. That is a stress free dining experience. We just did MTD on Serenade in March and that was great. We just walked up and were seated right away. We split between two waiters but we were in same area each night and did meet the people around us and pretty much ate the rest of the week with them close to the same times. We missed having a larger table but service was excellent.

  4. Interesting info. when we were on the serenade in March as well as two weeks on the adventure we were told that as we had booked our cruise using our crown and anchor benefits we could not get any of the Mlife benefits. I had my Mlife platinum card with us as we had just been to Vegas in january. We didn't get any free drinks on either ship from casino host. He showed us he has a list of the mlife players who are on board. While he added us to the list, we never saw any benefits.

We will be back out in January in Vegas again to see if our play on board the ships is actually showing up on our tier. I did notice a difference this summer but don't know what my credits were before that.

  5. I am still shaking my head and not sure why I even looked at this thread.

For some reason when I read this I envisioned a watch being stolen from the watch sale on the promenade. i have never seen the G watch in the arcade section that we frequent on any of the Royal Ships. Interesting.

Either way we all have different parenting skills and choices and sadly I don't agree with letting a 10 year old roam the ship.

  6. Ship sails at 8 or 830...I forgot....guess i should look for my next sailing info. Muster has been at 6 and 615.

We have seen guests come aboard past all aboard time which was muster time and be escorted on. You have to go thru muster with your room attendant and officer our room attendant told us. The people next to us were stuck getting in as we had bad storms the turn around day and we felt sorry for them. They had been traveling since early hours of the morning to get to the ship. The wife said to the husband....never again...we will fly in the night or day before...

  7. We have stayed at the Comfort Inn...hmmmn not sure we would stay there again but never say never when the price is right and the location is pretty good.

Then we stayed at the Embassy Suites with our Hilton Honors Points...awesome...great location, great food and so forth.

Next up was the Radisson. For some reason while visiting the casino, the hubby sees lots of pilots and flight attendants coming and going and figures well if its good enough for them we will try it. Got a terrific price and while the room was nice...so were the very loud neighbors who seemed like they were in the room with us and must have been past capacity and also till the wee hours of the morning. Yes we were excited to be going on the Adventure for two weeks but at 4am I was banging on the wall and called the front desk. I knew I should have asked Santa for the Roseta Stone for Spanish. Once again never say never when the price is right. I have learned since then to book in the newer section which we thought we were doing.

So this next trip we are back at the Embassy Suite but not sure if our kids come along to surprise the hubby for his birthday where I will book them into....

Radisson is in okay area as well.

    Check your roll call.

  8. We were on this ship for the first time in March. It was our first time on a radiance class ship and we loved it so much we have two more cruises booked on the Serenade.

We did not care for jamaica. We did a trolley tour which affirmed why we didn't wish to venture out of the port area as our trolley had a police escort in front us watching all of our stops.

Cozumel is so so different than mainland and there is a great police presence and we always feel safe. We were just there a few weeks ago on Carnival Victory charter with the Duck Commander cruise and enjoyed our time here once again.

Grand Cayman....you need to visit Hell..yes there is a place called Hell here on earth...you can get there by taxi or on a tour. Beautiful beaches nearby there also.

    Enjoy!!!!

  9. We stayed there this past January for one night before boarding the Adventure of the Seas for two weeks! I said the same thing...how bad can it be? Well....we put in for the upgrade and got the room with the concierge....drinks at night and continental breakfast in the am. It wasn't much more in price. Then when reserving you are asked...if you want to upgrade blah blah blah and the room is available at check in, extra dollars. Well we got there at check in time and the room was not available and they didn't know how long it would be but the room we requested was ready. So we took that. It was a nice enough room. Pool area was very nice. Great bartender. Concierge area ok but nothing to write home about. Now sleeping...very very noise. We had kids next door to us. Maybe they don't have to go to bed early....still yelling and so forth at 230am....cause they are on vacation. Banging on the wall did not help and front desk not much help either. Then it was quiet...I said Amen Thank you Lord...and before I knew it ....ding ding 6am I could hear all of their cell phone alarms going off and OMG...needless to say I was grumpy. Hubby couldn't get the room cool enough for me. For one night, you won't die...lol it is a great price compared to others. We are using points this next trip for Embassy Suite as we have family coming with us. Just go with the flow...it was clean...bathroom was clean....good places to eat around it and we felt safe...walked on the beach. I would stay here compared to the Comfort Inn for sure. We always see the flight attendants and pilots staying here when we have visited the casino...and figured it must be ok if they stay here. Now the rooms I think that have the ambassador privileges i think is what we had. They were updated and in the newer section. There is a another wing that we had requested the upgrade for but housekeeping didn't know how much longer they were going to be getting the rooms ready and it was already check in time at that point and a long day of travel. Good luck.

  10. Well things change so much but he's on vacation now and

thinks he will end up on the Serenade. I don't know any

    dates.

Mario told another poster earlier that he was not going to Asia on the Quantum as that required a different concierge. If Jimmy Rhodes can handle Asia as a CD I would think that our Mario could do the same but I understand where he is coming from. I know it was posted that he was coming back to the Serenade before moving to the Quantum and perhaps he will remain on the Quantum until she leaves out of Bayonne. Who knows...I am sure he will keep us in the loop. Love Rami from the Serenade as well. Excellent concierges for sure

  11. I have to drink more bottled water on board. i walk more..mine comes from sitting more than anything. Once I have them propped up for a little while they go down but if i am sitting and watching a show ....swell swell swell...humidity doesn't help either

  12. 4th b2b on adventure first two weeks of feb 2015 and lots of friends we have met on board will be on as well as our family coming with us for their second b2b on adventure. We love the crew...shout out to Maria from Panama....deck 8!!! the best room attendant...

Sure there are little things that bug everyone but nothing ruins our vacation...

    Love this ship.

  13. sounds like they had an opening to finish the rest of the dry dock....to include the rest of the upgrades....that would be exciting. The captain stated back in feb when we were onboard that the rest of the dry dock would be done in 2016 but they didn't have any notification as to when. He just noted some of the items to be done on this past shortened one which ended up being some fixapod issues and new pool deck new outdoor screen and some other changes. this would be truly exciting

  14. We just had 1056 in march and didn't have any noise issues. The hallway door was shut each evening around 10pm. We came back from dinner the first night to a shut door....and security was coming down the hall and he said we shut it to help everyone have a quieter evening that have turned in for the night. Heck we didn't hear anything with the door open and the music was blasting by a great band...too...

love this cabin....ahhhh to be there right now

  15. We had 1056 in March and loved loved loved that cabin. In the evenings when the live music was going on after 10 pm the hall door was shut. But when we came back from dinner to change and music going on we never heard anything with it not being shut. I read about the noise and was afraid we had made a mistake moving from the other side to 1056 but it was amazing.

Whatever you choose....enjoy your cruise. Have a blessed day.
