  1. Best thing in this picture is the Australian Gold sunscreen. It smells like vacation to me. It is one of my favorites.
  2. Two days later, and we still need a dead horse emoji. It doesn't end. 🙄 I know I could just scroll on by the thread, but I might miss out on finding out a good reason for using a two dollar bill.
  3. That seems like a good time to have held the reception, so it did not cut into anyone's time by the pool.
  4. LOL. Whenever my husband wants to go camping, I tell him that my idea of roughing it is getting an inside cabin on my cruise.
  5. I am not a whiskey drinker, but thought the Whiskey bar was nice and bright and had some comfortable seating. I was able to get a vodka and cranberry at that bar. It was made with either Grey Goose or Belvedere vodka. I can't remember now which one. They had Bacardi rum and Tanqueray gin as well, but only had mixers for pretty basic drinks. I enjoyed a few Bacardi and Diet Cokes from the Whiskey bar as well. I remember thinking that deck 7 could use an atrium bar, and not just a Starbucks. The bars with the new types of alcoholic beverages grew on me as the week went by, but I do like to get a frozen drink without it being a big deal. I think The Local and the bar by the main pool were good for some of the more of the traditional cruise drinks on Prima. I found that Prima has a lot of bars, and each one had it's own special drink menu. Since this ship is different from any other NCL ship, I also found that I had to look at the deck plans a little bit more to find all the bars. The cruise we did was only five nights so I did not get to try them all. I look forward to going on Prima again some day now especially now that I know what to expect. Also hoping to sail on Viva.
  6. I am curious what time of day this reception was held? Did this mean that other passengers could not use this pool at that time? I am excited that my local casino has given me a voucher for a cruise on HAL. I am thinking about booking a cruise on Rotterdam to the ABC islands. It looks like a lovely ship, and I know my husband and I would enjoy the music walk and World Stage events. I have just started reading this forum to get an idea how things work. Have cruised previously mostly with NCL, also with Royal and Celebrity. Thank you iflyrc5 for starting this thread.
  7. We park in a lot that is right in front of the ship. It is a short walk to the terminal from there. Sometimes my husband drops me off with the luggage then parks, and sometimes we park and walk over together.
  8. I am going to bring an insulated cup to put ice in and leave in the fridge for my evening ice needs. This will keep some ice very well until evening. I hope we will still get paper copies of the Freestyle daily every evening. I really like having this in addition to the app. I like to leave my phone in the safe for the duration of the cruise.
  9. While I think you are correct in thinking that the tipper is hoping to be remembered by the crew member, I disagree about it being cheap. A two dollar tip on a ten dollar drink is an adequate tip.
  10. To me the only legitimate reason to move someone from the room they reserved a head of time would be if something in the room needs to be repaired. I would hope they would offer the OP an upgrade. I am not a big fan of the angled balcony, but clearly this is what they wanted and it is not good to move someone. Even if they have a legit reason NCL should let you know when they make changes to your reservation. The lack of communication from NCL really is inexcusable. Also, some have theorized that the move may have been because the room was needed for a party of three. The OP is still in a balcony. I thought that all the standard balcony cabins held at least three people?
  11. I found that I did not like it at all if I drank it right out of the bottle. I had to pour it in a glass with ice to make it enjoyable.
  12. I enjoy the " Free" beverage package. I can do basic math and make decisions about what is a value to me. I enjoy the freedom of ordering drinks on board without much thought about how quickly the cost may be adding up. It gives me the opportunity to feel free to try some new drinks. If I don't like it I can just order something else. It is fun for me to order what I want. However they "rig " the math, I understand it, but still have fun with it. When it stops being of value to me, I will stop getting it. I really don't need the extra calories from all those "free" drinks anyways.😉
  13. That is my favorite item on the Le Bistro menu. I hope this is temporary. It would be nice if they at least replace it with something else. I like to have more choices. By the way, I did just log on to the MyNCL to check the menu. I was able to pull up the menu under explore and plan, dining. This was done through pulling up the reservation for my upcoming trip on the Pearl.
  14. From the Getaway day one Freestyle Daily posted on page six, I just noticed that there is a late night snack from 11 pm to 1 am. Looks like they changed the time. I think it used to be from approx. 9:30 until 11 or 11:30.
  15. In the past Gem had the late night buffet at the Great Outdoors. Is this no longer the case?
  16. Royal has more ships than NCL so they can offer more cruises.
  17. People expressing their disappointment in some of the recent changes does not necessarily mean that they "never want to spend money with NCL again". No need to be so dramatic about it.
  18. Reduce Del Rio's salary and bonuses. This could help a little!
  19. Yay!! Have a great trip. I recommend Indulge Food Hall for lunch tomorrow. Also recommend the drink Banana-rum-ble. Happy New Year!!
  20. All these cut backs individually are not deal breakers, but they do add up. Pretty soon one of the small changes will be "the straw that breaks the camel's back" , and we will look into other vacation options. I really feel for families with multiple people in a room. There is only room to hang up a couple of towels to dry and re-use. I think a quick refresh of the room to check if dry towels are needed and empty the trash is nice to have.
  21. Any time you did not want twice a day service, you could let your steward know, or put on the do not disturb sign. I don't see why you would want it taken away from every one else.
  22. Silly me. I thought that since they just raised their DSC more than any of the other major lines, I thought that meant we would get to still have twice a day service if wanted. This is not good.
  23. My husband and I prefer the Manhattan Room. This MDR is bigger and more open. There is also often a band or duo playing music, and if you time it right Burn the Floor does a few dance performances. We never have a problem getting a table for two. A lot of the two tops are near the windows. Once they tried to give us a room near the door the servers went in and out to get food. We very nicely requested another table since we were celebrating our anniversary and I wanted to be closer to the entertainment. They promptly gave us another table.
  24. LOL. I think you are right about a lot of it being too well done. I have made the rooky mistake of filling up on rolls and salad there, so I did not really care about the meat. Asking (demanding?) for rarer meat is a good idea.
