Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Just got reply from P&O about why we've not had a £100 OBC email voucher. It's because we chose to opt out of all communications when we first booked our cruise mid last year.
  2. Jeans ok in MDR's but only dark denim not blue.
  3. We've now been back from our 2wk Arvia cruise 2½ wks and haven't had an email offering £100 OBC for rebooking? Anyone else on K307 who's had the email?
  4. People on this forum keep going on about a "certain" TA that a lot of people use for good deals. However, no-one ever mentions who it is (I assume not allowed to??). How do I find out who this "favourite" TA is as I'd like to see if they can sort us out for our next p&o cruise?
  5. Was on Arvia for our 1st ever cruise 2-16th Apr. We loved it! We are now hooked and looking for our next cruise. We've seen a 14nt Carribbean on Britannia for 22 March 2024. For a standard balcony it's £1799pp (plus £65pp supplements for Manchester airport departure) but with £440 OBC with select fare. On Arvia we were in inside cabin and would like to try a balcony next so do you experienced cruisers think this B406 Carribbean cruise is good value for money or is the price likely to drop (particularly after balance due date)? Would love to know people's thoughts.
  6. For the standard package it's £18 per day or £12 per day if you buy all days (cruise plan) Or, for the ultimate package it's £24 per day or £18 per day if you buy all days (cruise plan). Either way, it's a complete rip off.
  7. Just got off Arvia afyer our 1st ever cruise and can confirm that carpets in cabins are not being vacuumed at all. We were there 2 wks and bits of hair and fluff we found on the 1st day on entering our cabin were still there when we left. I was intending to leave a tip for our cabin steward but couldn't bring myself to in the end. Our shower cubicle wasn't cleaned for 2 wks either. All he seemed to do was make the bed, change the towels and put clean glasses out. We expected a little more than that tbh.
  8. Hi, What quantity of soft drinks are you allowed to take onboard Arvia at embarkation? Some say 12 cans max whilst others say unlimited soft drinks. Have searched p&o website top to bottom and can not find it. In addition to taking 2 x1 litre (me + wife) of alcohol, we also want to take 2 X 2 litre plastic bottles of cola. Can these be put in suitcases or best in hand luggage?
  9. When we went to book our Spa on Arvia we were also puzzled why it wouldn't allow us to select a time. So we decided to wait until we board the ship and have the free Spa tour in the hope that there will be some discount on offer during the tour or at the end.
  10. Hi, wife and I going on our 1st ever cruise on Arvia on 2nd April (we're mid 50s) and we have a few questions 1. Are fruit juices (apple, orange etc etc) available all day in the buffet restaurant or just for breakfast? 2. Are you allowed to carry around your own drinks bottle (plastic water bottle) around the ship, eg poolside etc? 3. Can you ask your room maid to get you a bath robe for when you walk between your cabin and the pool areas? Or are they only available in the retreat? 4. On celebration night, you get a complimentary glass of "fizz". If we don't like wine can we have an alternative like a rum+coke or similar? 5. Are there water fountains around the ship? 6. Are there glasses in your cabin or just cups for tea/coffee? It's proving to be a bit of an ordeal trying to get our heads around everything! Any help/advice greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙂
  11. On Arvia on 2nd April for 14 nights. Watched a YouTube video yesterday of a couple reviewing Spa facilities on Iona and they said it was £20 pp for 2hrs in the Spa/hydrotherapy suite. However, on Arvia it's £39 pp for 2hrs!!! Why is Arvia's Spa 100% dearer than Iona's for essentially the same thing and same time?? IMO £20 is reasonable, £39 is NOT. Also, there doesn't appear to be any multi-day Spa packages being offered on Arvia, unlike Iona and the other ships eg Britannia?? Anyone shed any light?
