  1. I want them on the ship...so much better than the thick steak fries they serve in all the dining venues....
  2. lets start requesting shoestring fries.... or the ones with skins... soooo much better than what they usually have....
  3. yes that looks like the ones we had but alas only once...
  4. well maybe some regulars will pipe up with some info.... yes this is a very trivial topic...but french fries are important....lol....
  5. I seem to remember them in one of the Specialty Restaurants, but have not seen them on any of our current few cruises. One lunch time, in the Terrace they had fries that seemed hand cut, with some skin on them. They were amazing. I asked for them the next day, they seemed to have vanished from the ship. Any other french fries enthusiasts out there? Please chime in.
  6. sure if doing it yourself is considerably less expensive...go for it... we have found that the O air is so much less ..since right now cost of air is over the moon, yes even to MIA....not to mention Europe....
  7. if your flight is only 3 hours..as in Miami, .I would take the early morning flight and risk it... but if it is overseas, that is a bigger risk... december is still not a month of the great snows in southern ontario.... and if you miss the ship, you could probably get to the next island... to pay 175 times 2 for deviation, then a hotel for probably around 300, plus meals, thats a lot of $... I know most wont agree with me...
  8. yes I do...and often wait to buy items when they are on sale.... dont you?
  9. so why is the ultimate O sale such a good deal...especially if you dont want the drink package.... seems the only good sale is the Cat upgrade, where you really save, pay for lower ....
  10. Certainly not all are treated the same. Why florida residents only? Maybe since they dont need air.....
  11. yes signed up...but did not get any notification for this...maybe only in UK...
  12. Certainly Waves is casual....but how casual? Where is the line drawn? Beards do not matter, but these were very long and somewhat unkempt, that matters.
  13. On a TA last November, there were several men in overalls. They also sported long beards. They came to dinner in Waves that way. When asked the staff, we were told they are from Northern Germany. Not sure what that has to do with it. Im sure in Northern Germany they are aware of what to wear to dinner. To highlight another group, a large family with kids, were very casually dressed all the time, ill fitting sweats with too much flesh exposed. Their loud demeaner, matched their clothing choices. I am all for wear what you want, but within reason as it does affect the ships atmosphere. On the other hand it gives you something to laugh at, albeit quietly.
  14. food the most important thing for us.... could no longer tolerate Celeb after being Elite plus.... unless paying for suites to eat with the "upper class".....then might as well sail O, cheaper than suites on C...and all the stuff they give us for elite plus is included with O.... hate Cs class system.....
  15. It is perfect...but I like it cooler rather than warm.
  16. will have to try it, as long as the meat is well done...minus the cheese....I am sure they have it every day...so no need to rush to have it on embarkation....
  17. I think it is meat and cheese on a french stick....
  18. yes I am on roll call.....flying with V, using AC, flying on the day of the cruise, a 6:15 flight....into FLL....
  19. we are on that as well...and from toronto too....
  20. When travelling solo, I would think you would find a smaller ship cozy and comfortable. The Insignia is just that. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
  21. the trying is getting more trying every day.....
  22. strange comment...other things are not there for us to take.....the wine is!
  23. You should be able to get 5% off each leg, but if there is a promo, you either get the promo or the 5%..which doesnt seem fair...really negates the promo.... there are so many things that are not combinable....you gain in one way, lose in another....so every gain you see, may only be an illusion....
