  1. thank you for this.... much of it is booked...and the price is more than it was at opening, of course...very expensive.... will see what happens with new itins for 2025....
  2. ok...dont keep beating a dead horse....
  3. no, I mean different ports in Iceland and Greenland...
  4. not sure this itin is still being offered....
  5. the Iceland itins have not been good, as it either starts in Iceland or ends in Iceland....so you have to either stay in Iceland at the beginning or at the end at your own expense. To really have Iceland, you need the 3 days in the middle of cruise. Does such an itinerary exist?
  6. it was in 2019. that is 4 to 5 years ago....that is a lot of wear and tear....
  7. We are on the Regatta in Sept to Alaska. It was refitted in 2019. Dont like to hear that she looks tired as we just got off Riviera and have now seen what a newly refitted ship looks like. Seems like we will be on tired looking ships for a while. Riviera now goes to Asia. We are only on Regatta and Marina, that are not scheduled for any refits. But alas have booked a couple of Vista options.
  8. very easy disembark...our flight was 1;30...no problem.... we left the ship at 8 ....sat on the bus, had an O transfer....the bus driver was very slow....got to the airport by 9....the ride itself was only 20 min...but he took each piece of luggage off singly.... if you are in a hurry, I suggest an uber.....
  9. we are just off the Riviera on Jan 14..... there is a corner on the pool deck for smokers.... we would chose pool chairs as far away from that corner as possible but still on the same side.... the smoke would still waft over to where we were and would have to move... with limited availability of chairs, that was not easy to do.... the smoking corner occupies some very expensive real-estate...they could put more pool chairs there and put this smoking somewhere where it does not impact other guests, .... Yes I mentioned it on the survey....hope others did also as it seemed to bother a great many of us.... there were not a lot of smokers...only a few....a waste of a corner on the pool deck for those few.....
  10. we are also in Canada....toronto johthomas100z at gmail dot com yes it is johthomas100z at gmail dot com
  11. 4 kids!!! in over 50 kids with Celeb, there were NEVER only 4 kids...some of our worst cruises on C have been because of the number of kids and the fights that broke out over that fact. maybe it is because families might not sail on Summit, relatively small and older....
  12. I generally think that whenever something is a secret, there is something wrong with it. Thank you for some helpful information.
  13. I think I am becoming sorry I asked the question. Will make my own decision based on some common sense.
  14. so who decides who is hurting and who is not..... how about the engineers....the chefs, etc.....is there a fund for them to get off early in family emergencies or is that too the responsibility of the passengers... ridiculous....
  15. the stateroom attendant is someone who you come in contact with on a regular basis..face to face....in fact I would say they know you intimately.... what you are suggesting above is that you make a massive contribution to the welfare of all staff on the ship....for all kinds of reasons ...many of the reasons should be attended to by their employer not the client..... a simple question... what is the share for the stateroom attendant..... since there are so many....if the pie has 16 pieces, do they get one piece of the pie?.... yes seems to me, then it is much better to give a personal thank you for someone who knows you intimately.... funding all employees of the vessel, seems ludicrous to me.... no wonder so many now cruise with gratuities included in price....
  16. is the gratuity $16 pp per day, how much of that do you think is the stateroom attendant's....$5...considering how many people are part of it....as you said, kitchen, maintenance etc.... why is it such a guarded secret...someone must know.... with celebrity, they had a chart , with exact amounts that were given to 5 people, stateroom attendant and assistant, waiter in main dining room and assistant and maitre'd....we knew exactly how much the stateroom person got and main waiter and if they were exceptional we knew how much to add..... how is it that on V kitchen staff, maintenance etc....even captain..hey why not captain, cruise director....lets take the whole staff of about 1000 and divide all the included grats among them...then no one would really get anything.... the more questions I ask about this topic, the less I understand....
  17. it was a very nice bathroom on the refitted riviera, just as the pics above show...thank you for these.... sadly we face marina next november and no refit.... and regatta in sept....not sure when it was refitted if at all....
  18. Does anyone know? They work so hard I wonder how much of the overall included tip is their portion.
  19. We got off on jan 14, no bags were in the cabin on the Riviera.
  20. our TA went ahead without letting us know and added the 400 obcs....but now costing us more.... now management is trying to unravel the mess.... really not a big sale...should have waited for cabin upgrade and paid less...but with the way this is being handled, not sure this agent would be able to get anything done for us....like the agency...need to switch agents....have 6 other O cruises with her...so not easy to do....
  21. The Insignia is the ship of choice for World cruise...should be the finest cuisine, rather than the worst....
  22. hope that changes and quick.... seems there are inconsistencies from ship to ship....that shouldnt be....we dont want to be afraid to sail on a ship that is so different from others....or differences when new staff come on....we had that on the Marina last November...it was a 17 day cruise.....the food was very different for the first 10 days, incredible desserts....then there was a staff change and those that serve in the terrace cafe, admitted there was a staff change...the desserts became inedible....but that can be a good thing...lol....
  23. yes refreshing..... one fellow, kept diving in, splashing other guests...can do without someone like that...he did other things as well...but too gross to mention....
