  1. I had the escargot on the Grandeur on the cruise through the Panama Canal. I absolutely loved it, the best new food item on the ship. I’m glad they did away with the escargot in the red wine and replace it with this. my fingers are crossed they have it on the Splendor next month. By the way, I also ready liked the artichoke appetizer they served in Chartreuse.
  2. They have Diet Pepsi but you have to ask for it. The crew has Diet Pepsi down below and when I request it they will put it in my refrigerator. However they ran out of Diet Pepsi about halfway through the Christmas cruise so they switched back to Diet Coke. If your cruise is in Europe or it starts in Europe you will get Coke Light. Yuck!! They really had a hard time understanding that Diet Coke and Coke Light are not the same and taste different.
  3. I asked for a lounger and was told they didn’t have extras. They tried to find one not being used in a named Suite but was told that the loungers are now a heavy metal (not wicker) and to difficult to be moved. The chairs on our balcony do recline but are unusable for me because of a fused back. I have used the 2 chairs to make a lounger in the past but that means only one of us can sit on the Grandeur balcony. We ended up canceling 2 cruises on Grandeur because of the balcony situation (among other reasons). We moving to other Regent ships we know. Having sailed on Explorer and Splendor many times, we arrived on Granduer with certain expectations and they were not met. Regent is a geear product overall, love the staff and the Grandeur is gorgeous but we feel the Granduer is just not for us.
  4. We did the same. We have sailed in Concierge D & E on Explorer and Splendor several times, always had a lounger. I really feel this is a downgrade for this room category. We were also told the rooms are slightly smaller, the closet sure feels like it.
  5. We are currently on the Grandeur in a Concierge D and we do not have a lounger on our balcony. When I asked about there being no lounger on the balcony, I was told that only the higher suites now get loungers. That this only applies to Grandeur. We have 2 chairs and a small table on our balcony. I’m extremely disappointed with no lounger.
  6. We are in the same situation, no room yet. I’m hoping we will hear something before we fly to Miami in a week. First time booking with a guaranteed room so not sure how this whole thing works. Hope we don’t have to wait for room assignment until we check in on embarkation day.
  7. We booked a cruise from Miami to Bridgetown in Feb 2023, using Regent Air. We also paid extra to fly first/business class from Bridgetown home. Regent could not accommodate any of the flights we requested. The one Regent did offer us was totally unacceptable, overnight in Toronto with no offer of a layover hotel. We will be looking at other cruises to replace this one. Note: Regent use to give us the flights we requested in the past. Lately all our choices have been rejected.
  8. Regarding your comments on Cronuts, we became addicted to them on Explorer a couple years ago. Enjoyed them on Splendor several times but on our last 2 cruises we noticed they were extremely greasy. Actually got sick after eating one, the grease was oozing out of it when you cut into it. As much as we loved them we couldn’t eating them on the Voyager because they were so greasy. Hope they correct the problem on cooking them before our next cruise. I miss them.
  9. My problem is really connecting flights once I get out of Barbados. I live in Arizona so if I have the 4:40 pm flight I have a long lay over in MIA or DFW. It looks like the best option now is to get a hotel in DFW and fly home from there the next day. I found it cheaper to use Regent than book it myself, we upgraded to First. Was just curious what Regent did in the past flying guests out of BGI.
  10. How did Regent handle your flight out of Barbados? Our Feb. 2024 cruise ends in Barbados, we are using Regent for our flight home and paid the deviation fee. After looking at possible flights, I see only 2 flights leave each day 7:10 am and 4:40 pm. I’m assuming Regent will try and put us on the 4:40 pm flight which has overnight layovers in DFW or MIA. I foresee problems and have questions. 1. How can Regent get all its passengers on the 4:40 pm flight? 2. If it cannot, does Regent put disembarked passengers up in a hotel overnight in Barbados so to place them on the 7:10 am flight? (7:10 am flight is much better for us). 3. If Regent books us on the 4:40 pm flight with long overnight layover will they book us into a hotel in DWF or MIA? I know I should be talking with Regent about this but want to be better informed before I do. Any information regarding flying out of Barbados using Regent would be appreciated.
  11. They secured the windows in Compass Rose on the Splendor during our Christmas/New Years cruise twice. They were placed only on one side of the ship. I asked a maître d’ about the windows and was told it was a precaution. The individual told us that several years ago she was working on the Voyager (I believe) when strong winds and waves crashed through the Compass Rose window(s). She said it was a mess and a little scary.
  12. Final Update: Regent called today and informed us that they would be moving our FCC and money to our December cruise. We are so relieved. Regent told us that they looked at various ways which would enable us to take the cruise without a booster, but in the end there was just no working around the restrictions. We appreciate the effort Regent made to try and make the cruise happen. Once we got past the call center Regent was very responsive. We are also extremely happy we didn't lose our FCC/money and that Regent was willing to work with us regarding this situation. Regent has shown once again why it is a world class cruise line and is supportive of its loyal clientele. We look forward to sailing again with Regent.
  13. BearClaws My TA called a Jennifer Teegen, who was recommended in this post. My TA left a long message on Jennifer’s phone and some how my TA ended up with someone named Kevin. Kevin has been helpful but cannot make the finish decisions regarding what happens with our FCC and money. He has now turned everything over to someone higher up the ladder who can make that decision. Kevin was able to give us information on requirements for Mediterranean cruise. Check the second post on this thread for Jennifer’s phone number and email. Hope everything works out well for you.
  14. Flossie We were told we would absolutely not be allowed to board the ship under Regents current policy in the Mediterranean. We were told that we needed to cancel our cruise in order for Regent to make a decision on how to move forward regarding our FCC and money. So we now wait for their decision.
  15. Another Update: We talked with Regent again today. We were told that it looks like they would not be changing their policy for the Mediterranean, seems there is a problem with Monaco. We were told we would not be allowed on the cruise so we had to cancel. Now that we have cancelled Regent will make a decision on whether they will allow us to move our FCC to another cruise and refund the rest or whether we lose everything. TA has worked long and hard on this situation with Regent, they are as frustrated as we are. We love Regent and would like to continue sailing with them but if things are not resolved we will be looking at other luxury cruise lines.
  16. Update: My TA is now working with someone with more authority. We are a little more hopeful than a few days ago. They believe Regent will be changing their current policy but we still do not know to what extent. Hopefully we will know soon. Our travel insurance is with a major travel company, but there is covid exclusion in the policy. Will not cover any covid related issues. Since this really isn't a covid issue but an embarkation issue, we are hoping they will cover us if we cannot sail.
  17. Jennifer, Thank you. I past your information to my travel agent who called you yesterday and left a message to call her back. We are looking forward to getting this resolved as soon as possible.
  18. We booked a Mediterranean cruise for July 2022, while on a December 2021 Regent cruise. At the time we met all the Covid requirements for the July 2022 cruise but those requirements have since changed. With the new requirements, we have gone from fully vaccinated to not vaccinated because of the new 270 day limit. Though we both had Covid in January 2022, the 180 day Covid Recovery Certificate exception will not apply to us (miss it by a couple of days). Because it is a Mediterranean cruise we are being told we need to get a booster in order to cruise. Because of health issues & concerns we have been told by doctors not to get the booster. We are in a real pickle here. Both my travel agent and myself have contacted Regent about the situation. At the beginning of May 2022 I contacted Regent with concerns, I was told that the requirements would be changing, to hold on and don't cancel because we should be okay. My travel agent contacted Regent this week and was told they expect requirements to change again by the end of June, and not to cancel. But our agent was also told that if the new covid requirements still prevented us from the cruise that we would lose all our money and it would not be moved into Future Cruise Credits. We have even tried to move to another cruise where we met current covid requirements but that would require cancelling this cruise with loss of our money and paying for a brand new one. Doesn't seem fair or right. It's not our fault the requirements changed. We seem to be getting nowhere with the call center regarding this situation. Does anyone have a number or name of a person we can talk to with Regent that has more authority and who can deal with our situation? We have our fingers crossed that the supposed new covid requirements will allow us to make this cruise. Really would love to continue sailing with Regent, we are Gold, but will cancel our 3 upcoming cruises if we can't get a better response than what we currently have been told. Thanks for any help you can give us. This is becoming extremely stressful.
