  1. Will be going on Oasis of the Seas this Summer and really looking forward to it Was wondering if anyone can confirm what brands of makeup/skincare and hair is available onboard the Oasis of The Seas incase I need to buy anything while onboard I know there is a shop that sells cosmetics but I really cant remember what brands they sell Thanks in advance for the responses
  2. Cool sunbed pegs to hold beach towel down - trust me these will just make it so much more relaxing in the sun universal diffuser if you have curly hair adapters for UK hair tools shampoo essential as the one on board is no good kindle with lots of books to choose - essential for lazing on sun beds in the sun - so peaceful
  3. hi there I have naturally curly hair and I know exactly the dilemma we curly girls have on holiday. I have previously brought a universal diffuser on board - I think it was babyliss that I got at the hairdressing supplies store. It fits on most hair dryers as it stretches a bit - it is fine if you want to use the hairdryers on the ship but I ended up buying the ghd hair dryer with diffuser - not the travel one as it didnt have a diffuser but the travel one is universal. The GHD hair dryer is not universal so it works slightly slower on the ship but still does the job for curls (not so much when I am straightening my hair as it took quite a bit of time to dry due to being slower) I hope this helps
  4. I remember when my partner and I got married when we were sailing on royal carribean one of my family purchased a few gifts that were sent to our room every day for 3/4 days which was lovely ie champagne, Choc covered strawberries etc.. It was lovely.... cant remember what the package was that she purchased but im sure they will be ones available
  5. fully agree ... its only an inconvenience to carry it around for a short while and you at least know you will have you chosen clothes to wear for your holiday.
  6. just make sure the adapter you take is able to do UK to US or UK to Eu so you can use it
  7. you need to take an adapter with you to use the UK plug... I am from the UK and I take my GHD straightener and GHD Hairdryer - use the 220 volts plug so it works best. ive not had any issues
  8. LOL my friend always says that to me...she doesnt know how I can fit all my stuff into carry on but I do it everytime. I always have a different dress every night and all my swim wear and day dresses too .... I just make sure that dresses I take will go with my shoes I take ... that is the part where I cut down on but I usually have enough for 2 dresses wedge sandals (wear one to airport) with flip flops and a pair flat sandals.. yes id like to take more shoes but that is my compromise as I dont want my case going missing so only take carry on... it helps if your airline lets you take carry one + a hand bag .. but my friend can never get how I manage it.
  9. Yes that is what my family do... we only take carry on. We walk on the ship with the carry ons and we have them with us until the room is available which is usually very soon after we board so it is not usually a problem. Most people do put their bags with porter but it is just not something we do. we usually go to windjammer and one of us sit at table with our luggage while the other goes for food then I go and get my food so someone is always with our luggage If you choose to do this you won't have any issues enjoy
  10. You will love the independence of seas. I cant answer all the questions but I can help with the drinks package question We always get the drinks package and yes it is expensive but it is worth it ... if you have some drinks during day and night. We usually have a few cocktails during day and then have drinks at night so for us it is worth it... although we dont go over board excuse the pun... we just get what we want... but we dont over do it. It means if you dont like a cocktail you can buy one you do like Im sure I have read somewhere if you buy the drinks package and then it is cheaper before you sail you can cancel free of charge and then buy again but I am not 100% on that. I do believe it is always cheaper to purchase before you sail... Enjoy
  11. hi there We love the windjammer - breakfast lunch and dinner - there is always a lot of variety to choose from and have always had no bother picking something to eat. We usually go to windjammer most often for dinner with the MDR only couple times. I did notice last year on Symphony of Seas there wasnt as much variety as previous cruises (1st time on Symphony) so was a little disappointed, but we did manage to find something when we went to it . They do usually have stations with different themes. ie Indian, Mexican, British, Italian and it is usually depending on where the ports you are sailing too. We like that windjammer is more relaxed - we dont always want to do formal every night. It is casual however we do dress up (not like dressy dressy all the time but I do wear a dress every evening and I have never felt out of place.) We just do want what we want to do. Overall we prefer the windjammer to MDR hope this helps
  12. We are on the Symphony on 2/7/23 but we never been on symphony of seas before and just wondered what activities there were for 17 year olds she will go to the teen club on first night and hopefully meet people she can hang out with but wondered if there are any activities for that age group day/night she will most likely come to shows with us but so she has other options just wanted to know in advance
  13. With all the not very complimentary reviews on the MDR menus I was wondering if anyone who has been on Symphony of the Seas recently can let us know what the windjammer quality of food and variety of food was like We do like the windjammer previously for the quality and different variety and would be quite happy to eat in there most nights How does it compare to previous years ? Obviously we will see for ourselves when we go on our cruise what the MDR menu are like but just wanted to get a heads up
  14. I can say in experience it is not as dressy as before when I started cruising....I still dress smart casual in summer dresses but not over dressed. I think people should be able to wear what they want at any times on holiday as it is their holiday and they have paid for it so really up to them so guess what I am saying is Dress how you feel comfortable and you will have an enjoyable time
  15. hi there I have seen a couple of threads regarding this but I was unsure as some people said yes but some said no so I do apologise in advance if there has been a definitive answer My daughter has the dyson air warp... uk voltage - and wants to take it on board the symphony of the seas when we go however if this does not work id rather she didnt take it as I dont want it to wreck it and then it doesn't work when she back home as it is very expensive it is not a big deal if she cant take it but she was asking if she can take it so thought id ask on here thanks in advance for any responses
  16. anthem Is not our favourite ship but it was okay however the solarium was the best one we have been in I loved the greenery and the comfy loungers bar service close by awesome
  17. apologies that I commented on Giovannis instead of Italian kitchen... my mistake ... I obviously havent cruised on that ship with the different menu but anyway it seems anything Giovanni's is good 🥰
  18. Giovanni’s is brilliant. We went to it when we were on Oasis of the Seas I think... and it was amazing. The food was best we tasted on the ship and the service was great too...
  19. absolutely loved the Epic, we had nothing to complain about .. entertainment was best ever however now that NCL are cutting entertainment I can't do NCL as it was the best entertainment ever imo
  20. Yep fully agree …cruising has always been expensive but taking into account all that was included in the ones we have cruises with it ended up worth it but imo it’s just getting too expensive with all cruise lines … is it going back to holidays only for the rich ?
  21. Wasnt sure how many hold 3 absol gutted if that’s the case but hey ho we move on
  22. there are interior room available for 2 people but we need one that accommodates 3 people we tried to price 2 staterooms and that was available but it wasnt cheaper as supplement for 1 Person
  23. this may be daft question however I am going to ask it anyway I have been looking on RCI and other sites to book cruise for summer however all dates are not showing any interior cabins available and showing SOLD OUT Now I have booked holidays in February and always managed to get interior however it goes to balcony in them all (as I am looking for cabin for 3 my husband me and my teen daughter) the cruises are expensive enough without paying for more expensive cabin which I won't do my question is do cruise lines try to fill their more expensive cabins first and then release more interior ? Imo cruising is costing a lot more than recent years and found it strange that we couldn't book im probably clutching at straws and dreaming but wanted to check to see what other peoples experiences have been or those in the know think thanks
