  1. Its correct you only pay the upgrade for two people via the upgrade bidding system, no matter how many are in cabin, even if your solo, when its not such a good deal then!
  2. Just ring the cabin number from any of the phones around the ship or in your cabin.
  3. Your selected question What assistance can you provide? We can arrange assistance for: Wheelchair users; Blind or Partially sighted customers; Deaf or hard of hearing customers; Customers with learning disabilities; Customers with mobility disabilities. We can arrange the following assistance: Front seat (this seat can have restricted leg room and is not always recommended); Assistance on and off our coaches (please note: our drivers & staff are unable to physically lift anybody onboard). Please call us on 0344 338 8690 (0044 0344 338 8690 from overseas) to arrange assistance. Our lines are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. Call costs are charged at local rates plus network extras. We require 30 days’ notice to book any of the assistance listed above. Cruise Connect (intercruises.com) That's what their website say's, nothing mentioned about wheelchair spaces in particular. Your probably best to call them and see exactly what they can provide, w.r.t. your requirements. The map on the website does indicate Wooley edge as the pick up point for Barnsley
  4. Yeah agree with kalos, they seem to have the wrong business model for this. Should be free to use and they make money on referrals thru bookings made by their links, nobody is going to pay upfront for a service like this.
  5. Travelled from Carlisle last year with intercruises, left at 5am arrived about 1230, there was 3 stops on the way of about 30 minutes each. Best bit was upon arrival was ushered straight to check in, did not have to queue outside, was on the Ship about 20 minutes after arrival. Coach was comfortable. Doing it again at the end of this month.
  6. iPhone doesn't allow you to share a Wi-Fi connection, only a cellular connection via hotspot. Android does allow Wi-Fi sharing, although I don't know if its model restricted.
  7. No difference in service or even what you do to order a drink, still need to hand over cruise card, whether you have drinks package or not.
  8. Don't see how it can be a happy thread when you've set it up as an adversarial one with a big vs small bent. That's just setting up for people to post why their choice is better than the other choice. They are just cruise ships with varied dining, entertainment, shopping, etc options. All cruise ships are different. I don't see the need to make the distinction, you choose the ship that meets your needs and desires, whether that ends up being big or small (which I don't even know what the definition of that is) what does it matter, as long as you personally are happy with your choice.
  9. Hotels likely dropped the charge because nobody was paying for it, when everybody had cheap internet access on their phones. Cruise lines unfortunately don't have the same pressure so unlikely to drop price or even provide a free basic connection, they don't need to, they have a captive audience to milk.
  10. Enjoy the cruise, hope you get the same weather as we did last year! I spoke briefly to you in the YC pool deck last year in the burning sun, I was the solo.
  11. Its supposed to be the browse package but on my last two YC sailings (Grandiosa around Med and Virtuosa to Norway) I have used streaming services like youtube. so YMMV. I have not tried things like Netflix or Disney+ etc which may be the things they actually block for streaming and they ignore youtube/twitch/tik tok.
  12. Yes ignore that for YC, its a computer assigned one and doesn't apply to YC
  13. Virtuosa I think only homeports in Southampton during the summer (April to September). As I said it basically switches to GBP when the only embarkation point during the cruise is Southampton and so they expect the majority of guests to be British.
  14. Just to be clear its not necessarily because of embarkation in Southampton, it has to be the ship is homeported in Southampton for that season. Its a subtle difference. Usually when the Virtuosa is homeported in Southampton then the itineraries are usually with the only embarkation point as Southampton and the ship switches to servicing more British clientele (kettles in room, Sunday roast, entertainment etc). So in your example it sounds like the ship wasn't homeported at Southampton, but it was just another embarking port so even embarking at Southampton would result in Euro billing.
