  1. That's a great pro tip. It looks like I failed to respond to a few questions last year (I think I was still on the ship and generally not spending time on the internet). The only reason I found out my Shorex was cancelled is because I tried to do the cancel/rebook thing at the Shorex desk to utilize non-refundable OBC. They told me my initial cruise was cancelled. Then they told me I wasn't entitled to a refund because it was "pre-paid." What?! It was a minor cluster. I was on a B2B and the Shorex guy was looking at the wrong week when he told me there was no evidence of my buying and paying for the Shorex in advance. I asked him, "then why do I have tickets that were left in my room?" He spent about a half hour on the phone with HQ back in Miami and still couldn't figure it out. Eventually, he gave up with HQ and called up the correct week's invoice. At the end of the day, I got refunded.....twice. I initiated a case to report the over-refund once back home, but they just gave up and said don't worry about it.
  2. I just checked prices for my next cruise. The delta between steerage and Haven is $4200. I can buy a pound of Peanut M&Ms on Amazon for six bucks. Amazon M&Ms That means that I can sail steerage and pack 700 pounds of Peanut M&Ms to share with my friends in steerage. That should do it! 😎 Of course, I'll need 14 full size suitcases. Guess I'll have to tip the porter.🤣
  3. Why would I want to "kill time" on a cruise ship? I cherish (and enjoy) every last minute. That was one of my gripes about the old, stupid in-person muster. They robbed an hour of my time, making me put down the drink and crowd under a life boat with people spreading Covid and who knows what else?
  4. Yep. And when you meet new friends there, you know they drink. I don't trust a man who doesn't drink (Winston Churchill).😎
  5. We're not even going to ask what you used for a pole.
  6. On the Spirit last month, I did ask once and took the jar to where I was sitting in the OL. The nice young lady (Nikki?) who brought me my next drink(s) spotted the jar and then brought me nuts the rest of the cruise whenever I wanted them. Just like a butler!! (but cheaper)😎
  7. LOL. I just attended a latitudes party on the Spirit. It was held in the OL and they cleared the place out an hour prior. Why did I go? Because it was the easiest time the whole cruise to grab a premium seat by the window at the front of the ship. The "party" was happening back around the stage and I just heard some blah, blah, blah; but the place was otherwise very quiet. Yes, they did bring me some cheese squares on toothpicks. Beats a toothpick in the eye! 😎 All that said, I agree that they are worthless for anybody with the booze package.
  8. The ladies like the lumberjacks. Yes, I'll admit it, I enjoyed the lumberjack show as well. A lot of fun.
  9. Yes. Takes about 48 hours to show up.
  10. A hydroflask filled with ice at the buffet is better than any ice bucket your steward might bring you. Add water as desired.
  11. lol. Actually, it was the Whitney Houston aspect that made me feel physical pain. 😱
  12. That's funny because it is all SO true!🤣 disclaimer: I've never set foot in the Haven, and my opinions are entirely based upon the multiple reports (many unhappy, like the current thread) by those who have. What is so special about M&Ms and gummy bears? Will the butler bring me something decent instead? (e.g. Scotch and Guinness)
  13. The steak prices might be reasonable if it was consistently great quality. That certainly hasn't been my experience. It's just marketing to encourage folks to think they are getting a $100 meal for free. They aren't. I've seen folks proudly post their dining receipts here as if that bottom line is some fantastic gift from NCL. A bunch of fancy names for food and a bunch of fancy prices. At the end of the day, they are nice venues with great staff that roll out hit or miss food. That's okay. Like I said. I'm not paying anything extra for it.
  14. True. I don't do any of that. On a B2B, I get six free specialty dining, even in steerage. That's enough. The food just really isn't that great.
  15. Yeah, but now everybody is eating there for free so the published prices are just marketing.
  16. Mine were great in April. But, then again, I sail steerage....😎
  17. I was on that cruise. I thought the entertainers were great. Did you listen to that classical guitarist in the showroom? He was some world class guy who did fantastic things. He put on two different shows. I always like elements. There were four good "lounge acts," but the Spirit is very poorly designed for them. The pub was crazy small. Magnums overlooks the atrium, so only one act can be playing in either at the same time. The social club (or whatever it was called), made a good venue but they only used it a couple of times. I really liked the Seaside Duo.
  18. Thanks. That's encouraging. I need both the shrimp trio and the wedge salad. I can live (healthier!) with steamed broccoli instead of onion rings.
  19. I ordered the onion rings every time I went to Cagney's. They were very good in April.
