  1. I hope you recover quickly. Does HAL offer any additional services on disembarkation day? Perhaps, you can bypass customs and go straight to the airport. Does HAL get you a ride to the airport?
  2. Do you have any idea how many people are currently infected on the Rotterdam?
  3. It probably wasn’t advertised, the date of the special dinner was probably blocked out so you could not make reservations until very close to the cruise. The Rotterdam still has not completed the menu for Valentine’s Day so it’s difficult to advertise.
  4. That’s sometimes tough to do if you fall asleep during the webinar.
  5. I may never go back to Celebrity. The Rotterdam is a beautiful new ship and all of the crew are very friendly. I’ll probably try to stick with the new Pinnacle class ships. However much of the crew seems very new and inexperienced. I think Celebrity’s stage shows are much better but we very seldom go to shows after Covid. The Music Walk is very nice and Celebrity doesn’t have anything like it. The buffet is much nicer and is served by crew . The NY deli and Dive in burgers are head shoulders better than the Mast Grill. I do miss the Solarium. I’ve only eaten in Club Orange and the specialty restaurants so the jury is still out on the MDR. I find the food at dinner to be much better than what is currently offered on Celebrity. We ended up on this ship because of recommendations by some friends and the longer itineraries offered by HAL. We spend a lot of time on the balcony so the E-class ships are not a good fit for us. However the passengers do seem to be much older and that does take some adjustment.
  6. Not me. Sometimes my eggs are over medium and sometimes they are a little more or a little less. I always eat them and never complain.
  7. I think the question is can you see them on your itinerary after you book them. I’m on the current cruise and the Feb 11 trip as a continuing voyage and restaurants that I booked were not visible until yesterday. I also do seem to be able to book anything on the app for the rest of this cruise.
  8. Sure, if you don’t like them don’t eat them or return them. But I don’t think it rises to the level where you are standing in the hallway in somebody’s face.
  9. It’s amazing what some people complain about. This morning I watched some guy complain to the staff that he ordered his eggs cooked over medium and they were cooked over hard,
  10. Because they know they Celebrity cheerleaders won’t care
  11. That was before they put in the special times. They still haven’t finalized the menu.
  12. There are really two seatings an early and late. They stagger the early seating at 5, 5:15 and 5:30 and the late seating at 8:30, 8:45 and 9
  13. I’m not sure what is showing online, I only know what the hostess at the Pinnacle Grill told me.
  14. I can tell you that the Valentines Day special dinner at the Pinnacle Grill is sold out by all of the people on this sailing. The passengers that board on February 4 won’t even get a chance to book the special dinner.
  15. I suspect you will be ok. Many people don’t book in advance but things get booked up very quickly once everyone boards.
  16. How would that help? If everyone booked in advance the restaurants would still be oversubscribed and passengers would still be disappointed because they could not use items included in their HIA packages.
  17. The Rotterdam is currently sailing at 80% capacity after all of the promotions.
  18. There are plenty of good reasons people may not make advance reservations and no one ever told these passengers that advance booking may be required to redeem these benefits. The real issue is that there really isn’t sufficient space available. But let’s take it a step further. Let’s assume that all of the passengers are internet savvy and are waiting for the day reservations open. Many passengers quickly make advance reservations and the restaurants completely book months prior to the cruise. Let’s assume you were out of town or weren’t available to make reservations as soon as the space opened up or perhaps you booked the cruise after reservations opened and you were not able to make advance reservations. Do you deserve any compassion? I would still feel sorry for you because it’s not always a choice.
  19. I’ll try. People were disappointed that they couldn’t book specialty restaurants onboard because everything was booked up. These were benefits that were part of a HAL promotion. You said “too bad you should have booked earlier”. That seems harsh too a or of us. Where’s the compassion?
  20. Maybe so, I’ll bet Pinboy still looks pretty good. Perhaps they had some pineapples on the door 😉
  21. Apparently you and I are smarter than the average bear. Many people didn’t book ahead and are now disappointed. It’s the same message for anyone hoping to use OBC to book specialty restaurants, go straight to the booking desk as soon as you board.
  22. I’m currently on the Rotterdam and the hostess booking Specialty Restaurants is frustrated. We are just finishing Day 3 on the Rotterdam and the hostess bookings all of the Specialty Restaurants is frustrated. The Specialty Restaurants are nearly completely booked with people. Booking Have it All packages before they board and others that are cash paying customers. The reality is that people show up to book a restaurant from the Have it all promotion or someone with a lot of OBC can’t book restaurants because there isn’t any room. It seems like HAL has over promised the specialty dining under Have it All and is disappointing a lot of passengers that hope to book once onboard.
