richwmn - On the VoV this summer, I met a nice lady at breakfast in the Lido. She and her husband were on the Zuiderman this year for the World Cruise. They live in Calif. They were on the VoV for 35 days. I didn't get her name, but maybe you know her.

Yesterday my stepfather and I signed up for the 2024 Voyage of the Vikings cruise. It departs Boston on 7/20/24. In the past, final payment was always due 90 days before cruise date. We used to go in to the travel agent one week ahead of that day to make final payment. Yesterday our travel agent said final payment is due March 22. This is 4 months before cruise leaves. Does anyone else have final payment due 4 months before sailing? TIA

To follow up on the missing surveys, our travel agent called HAL yesterday. Today we got emails from HAL. The surveys were in PDF format. We were told to print them, fill them out and mail back to Seattle. They did not want them sent electronically. When our travel agent told us about the $1 deposit, it was hard to believe. She said that's what it is, but for today only. We signed up for the Zuiderdam Voyage of Vikings 2024. We love the ship, crew, itinerary, and going roundtrip from Boston. This summer my stepfather and I had connecting cabins. We asked if they were available and they were already booked! We will have connecting cabins on the same deck, but on Starboard side instead of Port side. That's ok, because we'll have different views of scenery. Thank you to all who answered.

My stepfather and I disembarked from the Zuiderdam on 8/26/23 after a wonderful cruise. We never got our surveys. The same thing happened in August 2022 when we disembarked the Niew Statendam. I asked our travel agent both times if she got the surveys and she said no. I asked her to please call HAL about this since we wanted to name all the crew who helped us. She said that the surveys were sent to the email address associated with my Mariner account. I have not used that email address for 8 years. I know HAL has my current email address because that is how I log onto my account. My travel agent said we should get the surveys by tomorrow afternoon and if not, to let her know. Even though I gave credit to crew on the Navigator app while on the ship, I still want to fill out the survey. In my experience, the crew went above and beyond. They work long hours, but were always cheerful and helpful.

This summer Reykjavik, Iceland was a tender port. Last summer it was not. This year there were 5 ships in Reykjavik on both days we were there. A free shuttle bus took passengers from all ships to the City Center round trip, so that was convenient.

Thanks for posting the menu. I'll have a Cosmopolitan, iceberg wedge salad, halibut, iced tea, chocolate souffle (I wish I had the nerve to ask for seconds on the souffle. It's delicious). I'm glad you will have 2 more cruises! 😊 Thanks for taking the time to post reports and beautiful pictures. Safe travels home.

Thanks for posting this! A great menu and you can order as much as you want! 😊 I'll have a Bloody Mary (or two), Monte Cristo sandwich, blueberry pancakes, blueberry crisp a la mode, coffee. I'm sorry Tom did not get reindeer sausage. Can you please remind us when your next cruise will be? I'll look forward to your menus on that trip.

LAFFNVEGAS - I'm glad you made it to Canaletto! I'm sorry your dinner was just ok. As Nancy said, it LOOKED good! That's great that you have enjoyed food in the MDR. Thank you for all the reports and pictures. The sunset last night was beautiful! I hope you will have a good time in Victoria today. After tonight, I will miss seeing all of your menus and ordering from them. Thanks for taking the time to post them.
