  1. Charla, I'm sorry for your loss. We leave in two weeks for a cruise on Apex (7 day Key West and Belize ). We cruised on Beyond a year ago and had some issues with Luminae until we asked to be moved. This cruise we are in an Aqua Sky Suite unless a move up bid is accepted. I will probably report on things and if I'm organized I'll try to do sorta live. I know I need sun and something warmer than 25 degrees with 8 inches of fresh snow....
  2. We felt the same way about the Beyond last January. We are going on Apex next month so we'll give it one more try. With all the suites, the experience wasn't as exclusive as with the older ships. Luminae has a wonderful view but we didn't have good service until we asked to be moved to a different section. I'm curious what we will find on Apex.
  3. Probably about 20 to 30 minutes. We went on a Sunday so not a lot of traffic.
  4. I'm so happy to see you're back! Neat itinerary, that looks like fun. And thank you for the Sleep Buds recommendation ways back...they are a marriage saver. And thank you for providing the info on the new company, my husband was in a panic when he saw they were discontinued. As was I... I can't wait to see what you think about the two different cruise lines. I just went through a nightmare with Celebrity trying to fire my useless travel agent and get a different one. Celebrity says the travel agent has to do the paperwork to release the reservations (2 of them!) but he's useless and wouldn't do it! It took me almost two months of headache. So my warm and fuzzy feeling for Celebrity isn't around right now. I'm looking forward to following along. Safe travels!
  5. OMG! The Rusty Pelican is still around? I went there on my first "fancy" date in 1977 when I was 17. Of course, I was madly in love and was sure we'd be together forever going to the RP for our anniversaries. Nope. But it was a fabulous meal and the memories are good.
  6. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this cruise. Have fun! (Of course you will...)
  7. Find the Publix you plan on going to and call them directly. There may be local laws that muck up a general question.
  8. @Jim_Iain, in your experience, which is a smoother crossing, fall or spring? I know it's up to Mother Nature, but I want to do a TA and I don't do well with rough seas.
  9. I was able to find Apex on the Windy app by using the lat/long numbers, but putting a comma in between, not a slash. Looks like it's still rocky out there!
  10. Goldens are the best dog ever. My one (and only) dog was a golden, Bentley. He was named in honor of my dad, who collected English cars. Bentley was a perfect dog and when we lost him, I couldn't replace him. So I didn't.
  11. That certainly looks like more than enough in options and quantity. It would be nice if the complaining about it stopped.....
  12. I'm amazed by the price of the ES. I hear it's in desperate need of an update. I look forward to hearing what you think.
  13. The staff on the Beyond retreat deck are fabulous! We loved sailing with them in February. It's hard to come back home and have to get your own drinks.....
  14. Looks like we'll be there on Sunday. Key Lime pie is fairly easy to make, as long as you can find key lime juice. I grew up in the Miami area and we had a key lime tree in the backyard. There is a key lime store in Key West, so grab a bottle of juice while you're there.
  15. Yay! I love following your travels but am particularly excited about the Apex Key West trip as we are taking that cruise in January. Safe travels!
  16. It did help! My grades weren't great (hard to study on the beach with all that sand!!) but I passed the Florida bar exam and the NY exam a few years later. That's all that matters. Have a great cruise, I'm so jealous!
  17. Ahhh, stone crabs at 15th Street Fisheries! Such memories! I went to law school in Ft Lauderdale and at the time, the law school was located near that area. I spent many hours enjoying 15th Street. Now, I'm trying to figure out how to ship stone crabs to me in western NY and make my mortgage payment....enjoy and have a claw or two for me.
  18. Very, very different. We were at 2,200 last week and we are at 3,200 this week. One thousand people make a huge difference. There are large groups of either families or friends so they want to sit together everywhere. Like groups of 8+ people, not 4. And the courtesy level is gone. We are trying to avoid the main areas - like walking the hallway of deck 12 to get from forward to aft elevators to get around. We were lucky to score an upgrade to a Royal suite and we are taking advantage of the solutitude it provides.
  19. Sorry, I don't have anything Apple, so I haven't gone looking.
  20. I was surprised the bartender kept pouring. Will be interesting to see what happens when you cruise.
  21. I booked way before our cruise for Eden and Fine Cut. Raw on 5 was done the morning of, with lots of space. We get specialty restaurants as a perk of Royal, and the times are 8 pm or later. My tastes aren't in line with Le Voyage so I never checked.
