Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Freedom itinerary has been switched so yes a new ship bumped it it was initially coco cay nassau sea day now its sea day coco cay nassau as the Wednesday 3rd initially had no ships at coco day, oasis is now doing 2 days (2nd and 3rd) I only know as I got emails rearranging shorex to coco and Nassau (the app and website are still struggling to be updated - lots of error pages and inability to book excursions as they are still listed on the wrong day etc
  2. We are on freedom 1st - 4th April. Was set to be Coco cay Nassau Sea day Now looks to be Sea day Coco cay Nassau Oasis was already rescheduled from labadee to double Coco cay so it seems we clash with their 2nd day now instead of 1st. Guessing this is to allow for a different ship at Coco cay or nassau
  3. thank you this is useful. The main reason for us booking shorex if because of the infant but if it’s pretty easy with taxi sounds better so we can stay at the beach longer. I saw about la plywood but it looked further from the distillery than anse, if it’s similar sounds nicer to be away from the masses
  4. If you’re none US, you need to opt in and register for C&A (at least all Europe ). we did it for ourselves and then a year later for our children. By the time they are both legit diamond (not inherited from us) they’ll be 3 and 6 ! Not that it matters until they are older and if they cruise without us but he must be one of the youngest to have been on 80 points worth.
  5. We’re currently booked onto a cruise shorex to the distillery and beach (doesn’t say which but I’m assuming great anse) Tour is 3.45hours (9.45-1.30), we’re in port 9.30-4.30. We have 2 young children (2 and 5) hence shorex on a coach usually easier, but feels like we may be leaving a lot of port time with little else to do other than port shopping. any ideas how much and easy with children it’s be to taxi to the distillery, do the tour, taxi to beach (anse or other ) and back to port
  6. We’re doing Freedom 4 night straight into Explorer 9 night in april Based on previous threads, we aren’t expecting a royal transfer between ships (but will ask and if we get something it’s a bonus) is there a way to know which terminals each ship will be in to determine if it’s walkable ? or would taxi/uber/Lyft be the only option? will they be happy with such a short trip (I’m assuming ok as they’ll get another trip from that terminal)
  7. Our daughter and son (they were 4 and 1) loved it last time. Wanted to keep them all. But we made them hide some and still came home with 12!
  8. With them hitting the site overnight, I'm happy to see the pdf brochure missing a 7 night on navigator during Easter school holidays, so looks like a b2b for us 😀
  9. Unfortunately the LA 1st and 15th April 6 night doesn't quite work for us (uk school holidays) so looks like we'll be doing the 4 night to catalina and ensenada and the 5 night overnight to cabo switching between navigator and quantum
  10. Grandparents - you can link reservations and also you can register anyone to be allowed to check them in or out if kids club or nursery. I imagine if you do this it makes the process even simpler for the grandparents bringing them back aboard with out you. We'll be doing this next cruise with their grandparents coming with us for the 1st time
  11. We went twice last year with a 4 year old and a 20 month old. There are life vests everywhere there is water more than about 6" deep We didn't use one whilst on coco cay (actually at all due to the ship we were on (mariner) not having an infant nappy allowed area) and eldest using inflatable armbands We bring a puddle jumper as below for the youngest. Our eldest can swim the full length of the ship pools unaided so we took inflatable arm bands. We found on coco cay The pirate ship at the end of the pier has no water depth, just sprays. The splashaway Bay is mainly no depth just spray outside of the slide entry water which is about 6" deep. At the time he didn't do the slides, next time he'll be about 30 months so one of the adults will go down with him, but he'd be able to walk or even crawl out without us The oasis pool (side furthest from swim up bar ) is walk in so we could stay in at a depth he could either touch the floor or float easily with puddle jumper on. Eldest never wore any float aid at any of the above, youngest did about half the time at oasis pool nowhere else South Beach naturally is the sea and was relatively choppy. We made our oldest stay within arms reach and always wear floats in the sea. Youngest we held and he wore float throughout

  13. We’re booked on to san gervasio on Cozumel and chacchoben at Costa maya The san gervasio trip is only 4 hours so would have time to snorkel after chachoben is about the same so time for beach/pools after. Our children are 2 and 5 so we decided on the shorter even if less exciting ruins, to allow for beach time. we’ve also been to chichen itza, akumal, tulum, cenotes before (and Cozumel). If it’s likely your only time in Mexico , that’s the only way I’d contemplate the chichen itza trip. if our kids were older we’d likely have done the further ruins from Costa maya
  14. We did it In September last year and got dropped off at mco around 2.30 it was worth it for us with 2 kids - they wouldn’t have wanted to be at the space station any longer. we also looked at the cost of entry to the space station, and the cost of shuttle direct from port to airport - the excursion on Black Friday worked out the same price if you fly at 10 you could do it yourselves and get the full day there
