  1. I was thinking mainly of the aspects that reduce drink charges. Four weeks with no free bar tab credit and the drink costs night add up. Although happy hour in the rooftop would also help!
  2. The only slight downside would be that with no MNVV allowed or similar bar tab offer you could end up with a large bill for onboard spend. But you do get coffee credit and soda is free anyway.
  3. whereas I prefer Pink Agave first night as it tends to only take and hour compared to 90 minutes to two hours for Gunbae which feels like a lot of the first night taken up on what’s already been a busy day.
  4. Technically you can order from the menu at Gunbae, but many servers have worked out it’s easier just to serve to share as some appetisers have enough portions for more than one person. So if you have a dish you really like then ask for it. I know I like the seafood pancake (but need to share it with the table as it comes out as six portions!), crispy chicken, bibimbap, marinated beef and pork belly so I ask for more of all the things I want. Or of course take a look at the menu and ask to try something you weren’t offered.
  5. The app works on the local network once on the ship so it makes no difference if you have the streaming or the regular WiFi. The ability to message others doesn’t work in the app, but WhatsApp is usually fine on all WiFi unless the weather is terrible and they lose connection to the satellite (then no WiFi works at all). Personally I don’t see the value in the afternoon tea, there is plenty of other good food for free, The Galley has a large selection of patisserie style cakes. But it is charged as enough for one person and I don’t think there is anything stopping you splitting a serving for one. It’s about a two minute walk down the pier to the tram at Bimini, there is no transport from the ship to the tram but it isn’t far. Be aware that if you get off at other ports there may be even longer walks through port areas. I’ve personally never had an issue getting into shows, but fitness clssses can fill up quickly and the smaller activities (like Grog Walk and Loteria). Festival Stage is guest acts like comedians or magicians. LOLz supper club is brand new this week and it’s three comedians in a 90 minute show with dinner. BoomVang is just a nightclub night, Heartbeat is a better one.
  6. I don’t have a picture but the third bed folds into a small cube, it doesn’t go under the main bed. The only main difference compared to other rooms is there isn’t an armchair.
  7. For restaurants it depends on the length of the cruise; seven nights or more and you can reserve each restaurant twice, six nights or fewer and it’s on reservation per restaurant. There really should be a restriction on show bookings to stop people booking all times for the same show, but currently there isn’t anything to stop you reserving the same show multiple times.
  8. Rhodes has quite a bit to see in the town without needing an excursion. We didn’t do any tours or excursions at any of the Greek ports and found something to see everywhere.
  9. That isn’t “lost” it was only for a set period to get more bookings at a certain time. I’ve checked the email and it was sent in May 2023 and stated “Book your next voyage between now and October 31, 2023 (to sail between now and May 30, 2024), and take an additional 10% off the fare.”
  10. It’s because you are too early. Check again tomorrow
  11. You will most likely be able to board about 3pm anyway. Most people with later slots reported back they have been able to board earlier.
  12. The loyalty 10% was a time limited offer, the email stated the validity period, it was only for about six months.
  13. One of the first club nights on VV, Heartbeat was created by New York based House of Yes and that blended in dancers and surprise moments perfectly. Whereas WeFancy I think was made in-house by VV and does like you said just feel like the dancefloor is being interrupted, the moments don’t add to the dancing like with Heartbeat, they kill and have to restart it. Klub Rubiks wasn’t so bad for it at least. I like the circus start to the night before the Studio 72 night but I think the main reason it doesn’t quite work is that it is the last night and people don’t seem to be as up for it.
  14. But on what basis do you think they are lying? They may have performed as expected for their first season in Aus, they wouldn’t have expected to sell out the first time and they would use this one as an advert to get word of mouth for next year. I think they did want to go back to Australia but the slower route via Africa isn’t as popular and on balance they decided it’s more worthwhile to go to the Carribean.
  15. They took October to January 24-25 off sale a few weeks ago when it was certain that the Red Sea issues were causing problems.
  16. You can book restaurants 45 days out or 60 for rockstar sailors in suites. Shore excursions can also be booked in advance. Everything else book onboard. Smaller fitness classes and activities book up first. In terms of restaurant bookings it’s more the 7-8pm times are first to go and then Extra Virgin and The Wake are the more popular restaurants.
  17. We were in Gunbae just after leaving Ibiza and it was awesome with the sun setting right next to us.
  18. Probably won’t know for certain until the ship arrives in May, but last year it changed from using World Trade Centre and instead went from terminal A of the main cruise port.
  19. Although right now it’s not just VV that is having issues, the whole cruise industry is unstable due to the issues in the Red Sea and most lines are cancelling or rerouting trips that should have gone through the Suez Canal and Red Sea .
  20. It’s not being altered. The ship has already been built with that difference compared to the other ship. There is a reduction in balcony size on deck 8 on Brilliant Lady (this has been confirmed in new deck plans in travel agent brochures).
  21. And the bids seemed to be $75-250 per horse. If you win then you get time painting your seahorse (with sparkling wine) and then there is a gameshow race with the winner getting 90% of the bids back as prize.
  22. It’s a pub crawl event with drinks in several bars across the ship. Typically happens on the first night of the cruise and often another night as well. I’ve never done it, but others say it’s a great way of meeting others and getting to know people. It’s about $50 I think though and won’t come out of bar tab (as it’s an event) but does include at least four drinks. VV Insider has a good summary https://vvinsider.com/on-board/event/grog-walk/
  23. No, they don’t directly to my knowledge but in Barcelona you could drop off with Bags & Go who do it https://bagsandgo.com/en/
  24. Kind of the equivalent of the cruise director role from other lines, except it’s a team of 14 people. Some of them such as the hostess and the diva host and sing at shows. Others like the foodie, gamer and artist host the activities, classes, gameshows and trivia. The Balancer does a lot of the fitness stuff. The Charmer hosts magic shows. Then there are several roles who dance at parties as well as co-hosting or hosting events. Around 6pm as part of the sailaway party the hostess will introduce the cast and someone will lead a toast. They will also be mingling and chatting with the crowd at the sailaway. But in general if it’s a hosted event (like Grog Walk, trivia etc) two or more of the cast will host it. They will also dance at some of the parties.
  25. 2.15 is only the second regular boarding slot. For shows you’ll be fine to book them anytime. It’s the lower capacity activities like Grog Walk and fitness classes that fill quicker and you’ll need to book first.
