  1. No outlets in any bathrooms in any cabin category.
  2. I thought 12oz or 16oz was fairly normal, so sorry if I was wrong. But yeah VV only serves 120z draft which is the same as can anyway.
  3. I was getting 1.5oz in all my drinks, I watched them pour it from the jigger. It’s only the Barcelona cruises that don’t leave the EU that have the 10% VAT added, on other itineraries when in international waters you just pay the menu price, no added tax. also of course unlike other cruise likes VV doesn’t add 18% gratuity. Tips are included in the fare. But if you prefer other lines then sail with them.
  4. Yes you do. It stacks with the current promo. If you have the loyalty status as well then that gets a further $100 of bar tab. Plus some travel agents give more. For our 9-night trip next year we have $700 in loot and $800 in bar tab.
  5. It’s more that VV set their prices in relation to America where $6 for a 12oz (350ml) beer is closer to normal. In the UK often spirits are a lot more expensive than beer/cider, whereas in the US there isn’t so much of a difference and alcoholic drinks are a little more expensive there anyway.
  6. Is the USD to AUS rate that bad? I’m British and the drinks seem expensive but not too high compared to city bars or resorts. I was drinking Absolut vodka and sprite at $8 USD which is about £6GBP and comparable to what I would normally pay in a city, similarly cocktails over here are £10-15 so the $10-15USD is comparable too. I don’t recall wine seeming expensive either, many are under $8USD. Beer is the odd exception as Americans don’t serve pints, so $6US for 12oz (about 350ml or 2/3pint) of Heineken feels a bit expensive but then it can be £6 a pint in London now.
  7. Although I acknowledge people looking for a 45 day trip are more likely to be retirees, it’s not hard to research what the entertainment and vibe of the ship will be. VV has been operating for two years, with most of the general entertainment and parties now bedded in for over a year. Specifically to Resilient Lady it’s been six months since that ship launched so also plenty of reviews and videos.
  8. The only time I’ve been oddly cold has been wearing shorts in the Wake and watching something in the Red Room theatre in the day time where I think the air con was set to cope with a full house so with only a handful of people it cooled more than needed. But with a full house in the evening it was a normal temperature.
  9. West whatever you feel awesome in. I’ve got t-shirt and shorts set with T-Rex on.
  10. There is a sign on the table advising sailors to raise the flag and someone will come over to take the order. Or now you can treat it like a food court and go up to a counter.
  11. Sail twice in 2922-2023 and you still get the benefits in 2024. As yet we don’t know what the qualifications to get loyalty benefits for 2024 and beyond will be.
  12. PJ party is about 11pm on the first night so won’t affect any dinner or show plans. Scarlet night starts at 9pm and I like ensuring we have finished dinner well before that time so we can head to the Roundabout central staircase for the kick off at 9pm and then you can wander from there to see small bits and pieces until 10.30pm when it’s time to head to the pool as the party kicks off at 10.45 through to midnight, then after party in the Manor. Therefore on Scarlet Night we aim for dinner around 7pm.
  13. The door can only be locked from the inside. So if your cabin mate wants aircon while you are on the balcony they need to lock the door behind you and then let you back in. If you just slide the door shut there is no aircon but it’s not locked and you can just slide it open again to come in.
  14. If you are paying for central sea terrace there isn’t really a bad cabin, just avoid deck 8 and 14 as could be noise from above/below. Anywhere 9-13 should be fine.
  15. The two night is new for Australia so no one will have done it before. We did a three night from the UK and still got a Scarlet Night but it was on the last night so didn’t go too late but was still fun. Still had PJ party on the first night and we got to see shows.
  16. 8370 is as far forward as possible so might not be too bad, but also may not have a hammock too (I’m not sure about which don’t, the pinned post might help)… see if more XL cabins do come up from cancellations but I don’t think it will be that bad. Probably no night noise issues unless you need to get to bed well before 11pm.
  17. Sounds like you had an epic time and that is an amazing summery of why VV had had us coming back for six cruises and two more to come! It’s just so much fun!
  18. The Red Room isn’t a massive issue for noise at night, shows finish at 11pm generally, although some people have reported it’s rehearsals in the afternoon stopping them napping that is a bigger issue. I’ve also heard being above it is worse than below. Have you checked how much to upgrade to a terrace balcony room?
  19. He won’t need a coat. Wear whatever you like on Virgin so dress up if you feel it, but most will be in shirt, polo or t-shirt.
  20. The karaoke in the social club is hosted by random Happenings cast on many nights, but on Scarlet night it will be the diva. No need to book just turn up and tell the host you want to sing. It’s not really a pop up as it’s listed in the events. there are also karaoke rooms you can book near the forward lifts.
  21. That is incorrect. You can book shows etc as soon as you are checked in and on the ship WiFi.
  22. I think VVs reasoning is that it’s promotional bar credit designed to be spent onboard at bars, not for take home stuff. Whereas loot is intended to be spent on anything at all.
  23. The offer did change since launch, but that’s because the original offer was stupid. It used to be that you charged to the deposit to your room account and got an onboard credit for the current cruise, which cancelled out the deposit. Therefore the discount on the future cruise was “free”. That got nerfed early 2022 I think.
  24. Oh I can see why that is frustrating then. On one hand a longer cruise for the same price (especially in a suite) might be nice, and could just stay on the ship at the repeat stops, but two long cruises after each other will be a lot.
  25. Aren’t half the stops the same as the normal Virgin Med itinerary? Or is the the new Greek stops that make it repetitive?
